You know what would be wonderful for these situations? A mod for Quests, a little nudge here and there IF they managed to suceed on whatever you wanted them to., be a single individual or a whole country, be it a reward or a punishment

So, the elves (in my world) have been wiped out, the humans have been more or less wiped out too, even when I created a whole new landmass for them, and the dwarf empire has splintered and is now fighting amongst itself. I also threw a few disasters at them because I was angry they wouldn't live in peace with the humans. Anyway, I decided to start over from scratch with a new world.

I recommend putting orcs on small islands of 8 chunks.
Dwarves do well in open terrain as their cities are organized into grids, so uneven terrain is recomendable. Dwarves can also do small islands with crystal biome.
Give the elves an bless island or large land mass that is hard to reach (surrounded by mountains).
Just a tip in you want all races to survive in your world.

Video idea: Make human kingdoms but give traits for every kingdom for each civilization (ex. Vikings with strong traits, samurai with fast traits etc) and place them on the locations where the reside (ex. Samurai in enchanted biome, vikings at snow)

Honestly, you should prob always give all the factions the genius trait, allowing them to research tech much faster- scaling it to the (usually) shorter time frame of your videos. That way they might actually have an iron or steel sword instead of a stick 90% of the time.
That can also help you balance elves and orcs. Make the elves super genius so they always have the best stuff, and make orks either have nothing or stupid so they have the worst.

at the start it seemed like the human blitzkrieg would win but then the small but powerful barbarian forces wrecked havoc on the human armies constantly and their villages, but depleted so much manpower that the human reserves were called in en masse and finally beat back the uncivilized brats
