Back before we got the 2012 ‘Avengers’ I used to watch the ‘Ultimate Avengers’ movies & ‘Heroes of Tomorrow’ after binging phase 1 & that was my head canon.
YESSSS! I remember the Heroes of Tommorow. That was literally part of my film education and art education.
@@immanuel7925 that movie was my first exposure to Hawkeye. So that's what I usually compare other takes to. Even though he wasn't on screen you learn a lot about him. Like that he's capable enough to survive the Ultron Apocalypse while still caring for other survivors. Loved that one line about what Francis' father would have done if Tony had asked him the same question.
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp we sort of got a similar concept in What If with Hawkeye and Black Widow surviving Ultron taking over the universe
@@CoffeePotGames Yeah, but I do like the much more serious tone in Next Avengers. What if kind of missed the mark for me.
Next Avengers! Broooo that movie was sick
Watching this movie as a kid changed me. It was more serious and "adult" than other Marvel media of the time I consumed, and it definitely ended more tragically than the first movie. In hindsight, it may not be the best movie ever, but I still remember it fondly.
This movie made Cap and T’Challa some of my favorite heroes fr. Such an underrated duo. Seeing them go from defeating Kleiser together to both running head on into Thanos forces in IW was 🔥
Their friendship and respect for one another is one of my favorite relationships in comics. Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes has a great depiction of the two of them as well.
@@obi-onekenerdi to be fair, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes has a pretty good adaptation of pretty much everybody. That show fucking rules.
was more of a cosmic tex mex of red skull and Ulysses klaw/klaw
@@kellymccabe9154 I miss that show
I bet you’re pretty hyped for their game that’s coming out!
Lionsgate Animated Marvel is SO UNDERRATED...like, yeah as you said, they are not peak cinema or anything, but they introduced me to the World of Marvel and made me and a lot of us fall in love with the characters that today dominate the Big Screen. (Planet Hulk is a Freaking Masterpiece tho)
Ultimate Avengers ain't too bad either, and let's not forget both Hulk vs movies
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp all hulk movies are great ;)
@@ISAGAARBO98 definitely!
@@DavidMartinez-ce3lp Hulk vs Wolverine was the shit
Ultimate Avengers introduced me to Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Wasp and the sequel introduced me to Black Panther.
I absolutely loved the Lionsgate Marvel universe when I was a kid, and still do to this day. I really do appreciate the more mature stories they had compared to the lighthearted fluff the MCU is nowadays.
Yeah, same. One of the reasons I wasn't excited about Disney buying FOX and getting the X-men. The FOX X-men movies seemed much more mature than the MCU movies. Now I'm worried about what they'll do to my favorite Xmen characters.
I miss when Marvel made these kinds of movies and TV shows. They created unique world's with interesting takes on the characters. They didn't need to reference or promote the MCU.
W comment
If X-Men '97 ended up becoming a success, then we can get a few more of that exact thing in the future, very soon.
That means Earth's Mightiest Heroes '13 and Wolverine and the X-Men '09 can be a real thing.
@@maxleon61702 I think even Xmen 97 is just to promote the xmen being in the MCU now. They even had Professor X cameo in Dr. Strange 2. Even the Spiderman freshman year is connected to the MCU as an alternate universe. Honestly, don't trust them to do a good job with any animated show nowadays.
Okay then.
Heard they’re Re-structuring the comics for the MCU
I have the perfect solution to the "too violent for kids and not mature enough for adults", it's called 'teenagers.'
I remember both ultimate avengers, ultimate avengers 2, and heroes of tommorow, but I had no idea there was an iron-man or doctor strange film. I’ve gotta watch them now.
Do it!
I’ve seen the iron man movie, it’s awful, but also not. It’s so bad, that it’s good
@@isaiahthepotato1600 I wouldn't say that it's bad. One of the better marvel animated movies.
Últ.avengers is The definition of nostalgia for early 2000s marvel fans prove me wrong
I loved ultimate avengers & ultimate avengers 2. I watched them on dvd as a kid, and I miss watching them.
Recently bought them on dvd. Something special about having a physical copy.
Fantastic video! I remember the whole storyline with T’Challa and his father’s death was pretty traumatising for whatever reason. I still remember to this day how brutal T’Chaka’s death felt at the time I watched it - I was very young
Same!
I always wanted a sequel to these movies, and I know it would involve yellow jacket and ultron
Next Avengers was also pretty good. Hyped up Ultron’s threat level so much for me that Age of Ultron was really disappointing by comparison
I saw this video in my suggested feed, i was like "Alright, Nostalgia time!" Man you brought that in mass, i was taken waaaay back. Great video!
Bro i grew up with these animated movies
I absolutely LOVE that you're reviewing these childhood masterpieces some of the best Marvel movies ever
They made a sequel? My younger self missed out. I used to watch the original on this miniature computer shaped DVD player 24/7
Also I really want to see someone talk about Ironman armored adventures after hearing the mention of the invincible Ironman. They both use similar music cues
It's on RUclips! 🤫
13:30 absolutely dying over iron man in the dead peter griffin pose!
Ultimate Avengers l & ll paved the way for the MCU.
Glad that someone finally made a video about it.
These movies were the only reason I knew who they were before the mcu.
Ultimate Avengers 2 gets a bigger win cuz the stakes are much higher and Black Panther is an actual beast here unlike the movies
Oh lord, I can't wait for the Next Avengers video. That was peak Marvel back when I was a kid. Shame they don't use those characters anymore, though.
They need to bring them back they were so peak
I wish they could've added this cast of Next Avengers to the MC2, and had them interacting with Spider-girl the daughter of Spider-man.
Can't wait for the Next Avengers video, mad nostalgia from that one
The unintended similarities are the best part
I used to watch Ultimate Avengers 1 + 2, Ironman, and Doctor Strange all the time.
I still own both of them but I never watched them I just own them since a kid
"I think I deflect that."
"But can you survive it?"
"If not, I'll take that posthumous award."
Pure Tony Stark.
Ultimate avengers 1 and 2 were my childhood too, and I'm glad it's getting recognized finally
Finally someone talks about this, I still have the DVDs of the 3 movies you on about! They were a big part of my early childhood with thunderbirds and power rangers.
i’m hype for the rest of this series and your MCU phase 2 retrospective
To be fair, the Ultimates (Avengers) are an extremely violent story in the comics
Specifically in the Ultimatum storyline where the Wasp is EATEN by the Blob
I remember asking my brother after watching the two ultimate avengers movies that if they would ever be able to make a live action and my brother said it would be tough but it's possible..... Welp saw infinity war and endgame level stuff in my time.... Hell yeah 🔥
God, dude. I used to binge Spider-Man (2002), Hulk vs., Next Avengers, and the Ultimate avengers movies with the Yost-verse cartoons and was just INJECTING marvel into my veins. It was great time to be a marvel fan, even if I was practically a baby at that point. Great review, cheers.
Holy shit this movie gave me so much nostalgia
Dammit, I wasn’t ready for the captain America Squidward walk, sound effect blink
I'm excited to see your invincible Iron Man review
YEESSSS!!!!!!!
Please keep this series going!!!!!!!

Happy New Year! I was just rewatching your “Marvel Overuses CGI” video as I work. Glad to get something new!
Thanks so much!
i remember growing up with watching the ultimate avengers animated movies, and really enjoyed it, but yes, this one was dark, and emotional.
I grew up with all the liongates animated movies. This was childhood along with Spider-Man 90s and new animated series
Same here man, i grew with all these marvel animated movies.
13:32 Dude that’s the Dead Yamcha pose I can’t hahahahaha!
I adored this growing up!~ God, it's been so long
HOLY SHIT THE MEMORIES ARE COMING BACK
FRRRRRRRR
Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2 are classics, but Invincible Iron Man (2007) 🔥
War machines pose when he crash lands had me dying
I’m hyped to see you review my favorite movie as a kid The Invisible Iron Man
One of my favorite movies I literally watched it almost everyday growing up LOVE IT and the soundtracks are masterpieces
Can't wait for him to review that Animated Doctor Strange movie..
Kevin Fiege was watching this movie taking while taking notes.
Had Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2 on DVD. Loved them both
I was so excited seeing someone bring these up, I have all of them on dvd to this day!
The Invincible Iron Man and The Next Avengers were certainly pieces of my childhood. The Mandarin and Ultron were depicted very well.
Yes, they were truly menacing.
Ultimate Avengers 1 and this were the only 2000s animated marvel movies I didn’t watch. Yet somehow I have seen those flashback scenes with the Nazi Alien and Black Panther but never the rest, just the Nazi alien stuff. Glad to finally know where it was from
Ultimate Avengers 2 introduced me to Black Panther and Wakanda
Awesome and entertaining video as always 👌🏽
Glad you enjoyed!
Does this mean Hank PIM is gonna die in antman 3
O.O
"Despite the movie moving kinda slow-..."
Does no-one else think these movies move too damn fast?! Like am I seriously the only one? 😐
I remember these movies clear as day I still have the dvds
My man you just unlocked a core memory. I remember watching these and heroes of tomorrow when I was younger
I wish that DC and marvel will would draw on animation for their live action movies. Some of the animated movies are phenomenal.
13:34-damn, everyone's pulling the jamiah pose
Oh I loved these movies and they were apart of my childhood. I'm glad to see someone discussing them.
It’s interesting how similar the formula is for Ultimate Avengers and Justice League War, at least for the first two movies. You got the team coming together in the first movie to battle an alien threat that returns in later installments, and then you expand on the worldbuilding in the second by including a character that’s a classic member of the team but has enough of his own story and setting to have a stand-alone feature (Black Panther for Avengers and Aquaman for Justice League). Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, that’s all I gotta say.
You could even said justice league war was inspired by ultimate avengers in that regard.
Just found your channel, good shit bro,!
DC animated has been wiping the floor with Marvel animated for over 15 years now. If DC would've had the people running their animated movies running their live action Marvel would be in trouble.
I watched these as a kid
13:31 bro did the peter griffin pose 💀
when i was a kid ultimate avengers 2 and the young avengers one were my favorite movies they were great
Are they still your favorite or has it changed?
I'm glad that Ultimate Avengers 2 actually based on comic book series Ultimates 2
Dude this movie was So intense when I was 5 I great movie great memories
Oh cool. I have the same The Office shirt!
Didn't Thor have a vision of the Avengers deaths in Age of Ultron or Thor 2? Which was also probs taken from this movie/the comics. Great vid man!
I grew up with this. I remember watching both of these illegally on my computer. I liked both of them when I was a kid.
I remember watching this movies back to back with the mcu Avengers and saying this movie is similar but damn i grew up with so it's a W also happy new year to everyone
I’m just waiting for the planet Hulk content
I grown with Avengers earth mighties heroes
I can't wait to see a vid on next avengers that movie was literally my childhood
I remember this
In the mid 2000s I grew watching
X man series
Avengers ultimate
Hulk Animated series
Spiderman 1994
Avengers earth mightiest heroes
I remember reading that there had been plans for a few more Ultimate Avengers movies that would have had different villains.
The plans for those did include a way to bring Hank back to explain them having a kid and put Storm in it as well. Then the MCU plans started and they ended despite a decent amount of work for the stories...including a last one that would actually lead to the Ultron situation as an ending which included a possibility for them actually surviving it.
Man I had pra tucakky all ljonsgate marvel films on DVD as a kid and I watched them all the time these were what git me into marvel
Got the first one for my bday as a kid since it’s the 7th of feb. Still have the first 2 on dvd lol 😂
Since you were mentioning all the old Marvel animated movies, I'm curious which animated shows you watched, particularly if you saw Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. I ask because that was my main introduction to the Avengers when I was younger.
I've made a video on that show! Check it out :D
@@Browntable Oh that’s right I had forgotten about that! My bad. I’ll probably go back and rewatch that cause I love that show.
The only Marvels I "grew up on" was Superhero Squad on Disney XD, Ironman Armored Adventures on Nicktoons Network, and X-Men Origins.
In the comics tony had the war machine suit before roady
Can't wait to hear you talk about invincible iron man
I loved these shows and movies
I own these movies I was a little older though I was in my 20s but still loved them
omg i’m 19 now and i remember this movie i loved it
LETS GOOOOOOO nostalgia HITS
Oh shit I'm remembering this more and more
Personally, The Ultimate Avengers Movies made Captain America MY favorite superhero… Of course its a battle with Spider-Man and Batman but overall he is #1
I always go back to watching the hulk vs the avengers from part one
Atleast I'm not the only one that watch all the animated marvel movies when I was young. Can't wait when u do the next avengers
I Also grew up with this and the first movie
I remember a marvel movie like this who take place in the future where like there are the children of the Avengers and like a old Hulk and they fight Ultron. Can't find the title anywhere
Cannot wait for the Invincible Iron Man video haha movie was awesome as a kid!!
Ultimate Avengers and Young avengers movie will always be tight
13:31 is that the family guy death pose
oh yeah in the war machine part where tony puts on the armor is also like when tony did it before rhodey got the armor in the armor wars in the 616 universe (canon universe) in comics
as absoulete marvel fan..before teh MCU..these are one of teh animated marvel media I love and wish it exist more recently..
Slight editing issue at 7:39 but other than that, Great Video as always ! Keep up the good work man I love to see it
He 100% did that on purpose
Yes i do remember this
