I think the fact that people actually think this is striped down vocals from the studio shows how good she really is, since thats just not the case here.

As others said, her voice is amazing, but it is also pretty distinct to me, and the band can actually change up their style a bit and not miss a beat! Keep kicking ass! As much as I want to hear the full band, It’s still great to hear one of the new songs live!

What I really like about her performance here is that she doesn't add any exaggerated vibrato on the longer sustains, which is SO easy to do with an "unplugged" (vocal forefront) version. She really is becoming a better singer as she goes along, which is saying something, as she was always pretty damn strong vocally in my opinion. Thanks for showing us this version.

As a guy that messes around with the guitar too, I think his command of the acoustic, specifically, is just incredible. People often talk about her voice but don't give Ben his due. I never forget the guy, I could listen to his playing without the vocals but I don't think I would enjoy many of their songs just sung acapella. I dig her voice though and I am not a great fan of female vocalists in this genre. I'm so glad that these folks are making music that is not mainstream.

It is nice to be able to see Taylor has eyes, for a change. ;-) Not the usual sunglasses or heavy makeup. And an incredible performance, as always with the acoustic versions!
Momsen has a unique voice in that while she sounds extremely soft she can be raspy and raspy at the same time. She can easily express a lot of feeling through her voice, her timbre, and her vocal technique. Certainly the most amazing singer that has emerged in the last decade and has become one of the best in rock n roll.
Although his appearance is like that of an angel, his voice rips like a demon piercing any assumption of his talent. She is the last alternative for rock n roll to make a comeback, a revolution, and her band has been contributing a lot to that. Anyone who appreciates real rock recognizes when an icon of the movement emerges.

I remember when The Pretty Reckless came around at first, I definitely liked them but never really loved them. She has just continued to grow and get better and I couldn't be in love any more anymore.

There are many interesting and subtle choices she is making that renders her vocals so unique and fresh. That long held "Love" has no vibrato on it. The listeners desire for an added vibrato on the tail end of that note, especially with the grit in her voice is almost unbearable! Yet every time she delivers that, she is subtly changing it to keep the song moving and fresh. Immensely enjoyable!
I love how the band has just blossomed from their first album, while uniquely great in their own right and equally fitting in its time, it always felt genuine. Death By Rock And Roll on the other hand, blew me away - artistically, lyrically and what felt like the strongest elements from previous albums and using those to create something distinctly familiar yet brilliantly unique. It's vulnerable, it packs a punch, it's soulful, edgy but it's 100% The Pretty Reckless and I'm living for it. 🤟❤
This has become my favorite song on the record, because there is something so transcendent about it, and the unplugged version in particular with Ben's phenomenal guitar playing elevates Taylor's singing to this wonderfully euphoric and spiritual feeling. This song is the very definition of music not just as a drug, but THERAPY. I sense a LOT of Soundgarden influence in this as well. So many of their tracks find solace from within... away from the outside world there is a peace within those solitary, dark nights of the soul, perhaps because they create wholeness. Where the introvert would be torn apart by the "sound" the outside world is spitting out, seeking love from within (perhaps self-compassion) allows one to heal from the wounds and harshness of the outside world. Personally, I don't think Taylor Momsen gets enough credit for her projection. She watches your videos over and over and her first fav was death by rock n roll....... since then it has been video after video of pretty reckless. She feels your soul even at 6 years old and I let her sing every last one of your lyrics because I can tell.she feels what u do as u sing.. . To some that wouldnt make sense because she is 6 but to me music touches her the way it does u and that's why she sings the way she does to anything u touch lol. Cant wait till u go on tour so I can carry her on my shoulders all the way to the front so u can sing at her as she sings to u.
