    Tesla priced this car too low. I predict that the price will increase further as the backlog grows. I fully expected it to be priced at about $62k. I have to wonder if Tesla isn't planning to start using these batteries in the long range model 3. All this shows that with the IRA in effect, Tesla needs to have more North American battery production capacity.
    I have to wonder who in their right mind would buy a Taycan or BMW M2/3 after this.
    The only strangeness is that the Chinese version makes less power than the US version, presumably because the batteries can't deliver enough juice.
    Very happy that I ordered one at the lower price...and that I live in North America.

    Elon Musk's leadership continues to puzzle many. By slashing prices to spike sales, then hiking them back up, he's set a predictable pattern. Consumers are catching on and likely will just wait for the next sale. In today's economy, these tactics hardly make sense.

    • @andresd6193
      @andresd6193 4 месяца назад +7

      All car makers do the same thing, people just don't notice it, you can have two people go to the same dealership and buy exactly the same car with a price difference of $5k. It is funny to me when they make such a big deal of Tesla price management. The only difference to other companies is you don't have to haggle for the price for hours if you want a good deal. It is not like Tesla is changing the prices by thousands and thousands of dollars.

    • @potencjalnypracownik2966

      @@andresd6193 They don't notice that is why they can get away with it. With Tesla they notice so it is stupid strategy. Musk in this instance shows that he doesnt understand normal people behaviour. People arent machines that input prices and calculate result. They dont like change, they like to feel they overpaid much more than when they feel they didnt pay same amount etc.

      or a $45k IC vehicle. In the US the average cost of a vehicle is just a tad under $50k, so most EVs are actually on the cheap side. I think the answer to your question is autonomous robo-taxis.

      Idk about your country but here in America everyone just takes out loans and debt even when they can't actually afford things and the banks/companies love that cause they make tons of money on the interest. That goes for car/house loans, credit card debt, etc. If you were to ask people purchasing these things if they are able to buy in cash, I'm pretty sure majority wouldn't even be close to having what the things are worth since they just look at what they can pay per month over many years.

    It is so dumb that Tesla put the ultra-red out of getting the $7500 tax break. So now it is costing $9500 more for red over grey. I really think they should rethink that one.

    Disagree it won’t have a huge demand “for long”. It doesn’t go far enough and battery on the performance still doesn’t hit 300. A new battery you’ve spoken about from China is coming out that will make this thing obsolete and it will happen at the same time the model y juniper comes out and IT will have that new battery. Mark my words. Tesla is starting to fall behind on how far they go compared to Chinese vehicles and competition will force them to use the new battery
