This was genuinely so wholesome it brought a smile to a real shit day. I appreciate you guys so much. Thank you for the quality content and the wonderful tale. Much love.
Man, moocluck describing the feeling of winning the blue protodrake... it's an unforgettable feeling, getting your very first rare mount! Mine was the Zulian Tiger, as Alliance, back in TBC!
Got to do ICC for the first time, we had cleared itjust before the last rounds of nerfs to Arthas/LK, so we had worked for it, got invincible that night. A clear sign to me that WoW was destined to be a game I play until the servers close (even if I take breaks, always find myself back in Azeroth before too long)
For me, it was a few hours after the release of Vanilla. I had gotten my Undead rogue to level 11 without dying and was pretty proud of myself as I ran out to Silverpine Forest. I saw a herb off the road, ran over to pick it and some huge monster came out of nowhere, 2 shot me and made me squeal like a 6 year old girl...which is a pretty good trick for a 48 year old man with a bass voice. That was my introduction to the Sons of Arugal and it definitely made a very lasting impression.
I can totally relate Buddy. I found all of the Worgen skins incredibly cool (better than the PC Worgen skins, imho) but those dang Sons of Arugal seemed to have a sixth sense of where I was and when to gank me when my attention wavered. Scared the hell outta me every time. To this day, SFK has remained my fave Dungeon because of all the spooky critters in it, that reminded me of the old Universal Monster films I grew up watching as a young lad.
I’m norwegian, and I love Howling Fjord just for that reason alone - I feel at home. Man wotlk is great, and so are your content guys. Glad to hear your voice again Moocluck! Btw: There’s no protodrakes here.
Man, I missed Moocluck! Great to see our favorite warlock again! I remember starting WoW during Cataclysm, at the ripe age of 10. My first character was a night elf hunter. Of course, I never had the luxury of buying the sub at that young age, so I remember making a character of every available race, and getting every class to level 20. I did that for years until Legion came out, when I was able to buy the sub. 12 years now, and WoW is still my favorite MMO to play. Hyped for Dragonflight next month!
@@theharaldrsaga I remember going through all the night elf quests, then parking myself in Westfall. Tbh, WF is still one of my favorite zones. I really enjoyed the brotherhood questline
6:15 I too won the blue proto back when wrath was current. Tho I won it on a need roll, someone said "everyone roll greed!" when it dropped, I waited for everyone to roll then rolled need of course. They kicked me from the instance right after. 0 regrets. I won the drake of the.. something wind from that 5 man in cata the same way. "roll greed" but they didn't kick me from that group. I was in my early teens back in wrath. So much nostalgia.
I started in Wotlk too. I remember I was hanging out at Booty Bay on my level 40 alliance druid when I saw a blood elf DK and an orc DK standing their menacingly on their deathchargers in the middle of the ocean. I thought it was so cool that they could stand on water, and while I was standing their awe struck, they attacked. One of them started fighting the guards and sending his ghoul to go kill other low levels, and the orc death gripped me into the ocean and one shot me. I was instantly hooked.
For me it was leveling my night elf warrior and running into the same human warrior in every zone because we were leveling at the same speed. we would always duel for an hour or so every time we met.
Love this view from Moocluck. WotL was the first expansion I got into wow with (I also played as a death knight so another reason I love Nixxioms content). Good to see people have such good memories of wow
WHolesome stories that many of us can relate to! I started as Human warrior a month before tbc was released then I quickly switched over to Blood Elf pali. As soon as WoTlk came out I rolled DK and have been that ever since so much so that FB memories reminds me annually.
DUUUUUUDE 3:00 that is my same introduction to northrend! I was around wetlands level and decided to hop on that big ass steam boat to see where it went. That ride got me fucking hooked instantly. It was so immersive. On top of that the music that plays during it just adds to the whole experience. Then you reach the town and it's under attack by giants and wolves, as well as dragon riders shooting the buildings from above.
I love Howling Fjord, it is my favorite zone. I too at a lower then Northrend level when on the howling Fjord boat. Just to run around. And I was mesmerized with the zone. The onslaught of wolfs sieging the camp. To going out and killing the vrykul, to "I once was a shaman". Also while running around in that first part and being a young kid meeting this paladin who was level appropriate that had my first name as his name. Was just an experience an immersion a wonder I will never forget.
It was 2006, I was a noob on runescape. My older brother told me to quit and start playing TBC WoW, characters have UNLIMITED run energy! I've never gone back :)
Love the sound of your Voice, Moocluck. And I couldn't agree more with your story. I had exactly the same thoughts and feelings all these years ago riding on the boat into the howling fjord. Gettin sentimental = gettin old i guess ^^
I am currently playing WotlK for the first time since i was only 4 years old when it arrived and im currently experiencing the same feeling of adventure Moocluck does
Good to see Mooclock is all good n dandy, appreciate you got him on here Nixxiom, also, for nostalgic, i was lucky to get one of the mounts from wrath (on retail) when timewalking was current, someone had it already, we all rolled for it and I won it :) it was nice.
Moocluck! Oh my goodness, it's so good to know that you are still lurking around plotting Nixxiom's ultimate fate....or mooching off the loot drops. Whichever
I got WoW the day TBC launched, but I didn't hit level cap until Wrath because I kept re-rolling to see what all the different classes were like. Wrath has always been my favourite expansion, not just because it was the first one for me to explore end game content, but because the story is just so compelling and the zones are so beautiful, plus the very first in game cinematic hit so hard, and the follow up quest to re-take Undercity was epic as Hell.
Moocluck how r u doing buddy? It is so nice to hear from u after all this time. I could tell that this was YOU and not the character talking. That was a very beautiful story that woke up many fond memories. We all have fond memories from WOTLK, wheetheer we were fledglings or veterans, i am sure. Be well friend.. Hope to hear from u again soon
Not a Wrath story, specifically, but WoW had me hooked from the very first steps I took in the game. See, I was like 9 or so at the time Vanilla came out, and I had literally grown up on Warcraft, thanks to my dad. Taught myself to read with the Warcraft II manual. Warcraft III was the first game I learned to play myself, without his help. It wasn't even that I was an aspiring RTS fanatic or anything, I just loved the lore and story. My favorite race to play in the RTS games was always the orcs, so when I first fired up World of Warcraft after waiting through the agonizingly slow install process, I figured that should be the first character I make: an Orc Warrior. Original, I know. xD But man... just going through the Valley of Trials for the first time was enough to hook me in. I had never played any MMO before, so the gameplay itself was blowing my little kid mind. Besides the Warcraft RTS's, I also grew up on RPGs/cRPGs, so it was basically just blending my two favorite things in the world together. On top of that, the Valley (especially pre-Cata) was just... peak Orc aesthetic and lore vibes. I got so immersed into the idea of my orc warrior coming of age and proving themself to be a worthy member of the Horde. And that immersion only increased as I went further along, to Razor Hill and the Barrens. As someone who was previously a fan of the lore, already, all the original starting zones just felt so well done. I loved making new characters of all sorts and going through them all. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Wrath. It rekindled my love of the game after TBC left a sour taste in my mouth (was not a fan of the lore of that xpac) and I was absolutely blown away by the zones there, as well. But I was already a long suffering addict before then, haha.
Was a Cata baby and honestly I was hooked day one by playing a Worgen. Their heavily story driven starting zone, makes a new player really feel like after a life of relative safety everything goes to hell after one poor night of werewolves
I was a console gamer and used to watch my stepdad play WoW when it first came out. He let me make a character and play on his account in early 2005 and I was hooked. Some months later I got a hand me down PC and my own WoW account. I quit when MOP launched and came back for vanilla classic but couldn't really rekindle those nostalgic feelings I had back in 2005-06.
I got into WoW because of the South Park episode. As a kid (yea I watched South Park when I was like 10 lmao) and wanted to summon scorpions. Sadly, I didn't get to summon scorpions but I did end up meeting so many cool people who became my close friends because at the time I had none.
One of my favorite moments from wow was actually from a private server I played on before I moved to retail, the GMs would form groups of up to 3, transform into actual raid bosses and raid the capital cities of the alliance and horde and it was our job to prevent that n from assassinating the leaders, so you had like 40 good geared players fighting Arthas, Onyxia and some other boss but those 2 are the ones I remember, and like 60 low levels throwing themselves at the boss, missing everything and dying instantly, it was glorious and its a memory I have kept since those days, I remember lining up at the front gates of stormwind on our biggest mounts (the traveler's wooly mammoth) and waiting for them to arrive, then when they died, everyone that contributed to the fight (not the low levels obviously, but it got them pumped to level up faster) would get a currency that you could use to buy TCG stuff
MooCluck! For those who don't know/remember the fire animations were improved in WRATH which looked "super realistic" for the time. Probably why the burning ship above the river and Utgard Keep looked so sick when you first saw it.
My moment in wow took place in Menethil as well. About a month before Wrath. I had lost my Hearthstone (dont ask i dont know how) and as a Nelf was trying to get back to Darnasus. A boat showed up right as i rounded the keep and 3 Horde stormed in and starting destroying everyone. I was killed by an Ice lance from and undead mage. It was the coolest thing i had ever seen. Rerolled undead mage and played it until Cata.
My moment was lying through my teeth to a couple of strangers on the boat to Ratchet about knowing how to get to Winterspring, where they hoped to be going to level. They had to cover me all the way through Felwood, because I was lower level, and Timbermaw Hold ended up being a death trap for us all. We made it, though, and they never learned just how much of a fibber a Paladin could be.
The alliance intro to WOTLK is something I as a die hard Horde am actually really jelous of. I myself always get a little nostalgia flashback when I hit lvl 10 and make my way from Razorhill to the Barrens. You hand in your papers to an orc at the outpost and head the Crossroads and that is exactly what I vividly remember doing for the first time in 2004.
I'm at 1:21 in the video and he just said he was heading to menethil harbor. is it possible he's gonna say he went to howling fjord by mistake and loved the zone? I recently watched the old fishing with crendor where they were fishing there so this is just my guess xD
What got me hooked, was reconizing places from wc2 and wc3. Seeing characters from those games. After some time, can't remember what level I was, I made a trip. I wanted to see lordaeron. So I took my level 30ish human warrior from wetlands to lordaeron. I died about 10 times going through highlands, and reconizing (I think) stromgarde keep. (Whatever name of the keep you help when you meet trollbane from wc2 expansion) Then I made my way to lordaeron. I remember hearing those bells from from the wc3 cinematic and thinking "oh shit, that gives you chills" made my way to the throne room, couldn't make out what I was hearing due to crappy speakers. Then I realized, after seeing some horde yelling, first thought is "oh shit, there's horde here" followed by connecting the dots of seeing trade chat. "Oh fuck, oh fuck, fuck, fuck, gotta GTFO" luckily for me, this was around the time for black temple release, so I didn't run into any horde members. On a PvP server btw.
The Machinima "Tales of the Past" and the Ashbringer's lore overall hooked me while leveling.....i was so mad when i realized i didnt have enough time before Wrath to get the Corrupted Ashbringer
Lol I know the feeling! I just started playing about a month before wrath. I remember hitting outlands and being blown off my seat! Such an amazing time. Funny enough I just got the red sword of courage off my first run!
I was hooked as soon as I zoned in on Teldrassil during BC 😅 Great story, my first memory of Wrath was waiting with 764335778543 other ppl in the new Stormwind Harbor to get to Borean Tundra.
Yea, my brother got that blue proto drake, first try too, all after I invited him to join and do a heroic for once. I never saw it drop again, and I farmed until Legion 🤷♂️
You said that you had best introduction to the new content because you arrived in howling fjord but map in the background of the video shows its borean tundra :D
Yeah, I'm a wrath baby myself, but I started out on a private server because I couldn't afford to pay for retail, I had one hell of a good time though, my first server I got to level 40 as a mixed shammy (I didn't know what the hell I was doing so I added talents in every tree -_-') and then the server shut down, so I found another one, played there for around 10 years before I jumped to retail, now days I stick to classic due to...well, wrath (I did play through classic and TBC though) and still enjoy wrath to this day :P
I was hooked from the get go in Durotar after starting a troll Hunter on my brothers account. Theramore Keep on the coast and Thunder Ridge were the coolest things when I first saw them. Also I just dropped a new album last Friday if you’re looking for some chill lofi/instrumental tunes to jam. Also, other content including WoW videos and streams if you need something when you’re undecided on what to watch when you’re eating or something. 😂 Forgive me but if I’m not trying, I’m dying.
Glad to see wrath nostalgia; I’m a classic old man, but man did wrath change things. It’s funny, I remember hating wrath; now there’s nowhere I’d rather be. (Except maybe BWL, but old habits die hard)
(english is my foreign language, I try to explain it normal. :x) I started WoW back then when I was 7. I had a lot of reasons to start playing and it had nothing to do with the game itself. But as soon as I saw the nightelf in the cinematic, I got exicted to play. As a kid I always wanted to have a cat and this elf literally just turned into one. So I was in the character creation and searched for the women I just saw, but I couldn't read properly and I never played a game with a character creation before. I played games like settler, so you didn't had to customize. Luckly my dad came and were angry, because I took so long in the creation. So I tried to explain my problem to him and he explained everything in the character creation and how to customize one. So I chosed ofc a nightelf female and I didn't change the class, because I srsly had no idea they would do. I saw my father a lot playing wow before and I remember that we had to start the game from a CD from newspaper ,,Computerbild". There were giant wolfes and they could kill you in an instant. So the first time I login, I paniced and looked everywhere. But nothing run forwards to me and tried to kill me. I played the game and a couple of days later, I discoverd that not every elf can turn into a cat. I was sad and rerolled my class to a druid. Well I made some friends later and we played with our characters doll games. Like ,,family" and stuff. Like roleplay, but just in the group chat because it would be embarissing if someone had seen us. Well until TBC release I didn't played wow like a normal player and in TBC I tried to go into raids but nobody wanted a child and as soon as they find out I'm, they kicked me. So I found myself a home in bgs. Anyways ... This is my story, how I became addicted and thanks to wow I had motivation to learn in school. Because I wanted to understand the quest better and I wanted to talk to people on my own and not with the help from my father. Its a lade story, I know. I mean the addiction only started because I saw a women turn into a cat and I figured out how to do the same.
Marry me, Moocluck. Heck, we can honeymoon on the cruise into Howling Fjord and maybe I can ride your blue protodrake (it’s cold up in there in the North, right?) I’ve yet to get that drake and it’s been 3 years of trying. I got Invincible quicker. Glad to see you’re back 😁

I myself always get a little nostalgia flashback when I hit lvl 10 and make my way from Razorhill to the Barrens. You hand in your papers to an orc at the outpost and head the Crossroads and that is exactly what I vividly remember doing for the first time in 2004.
Yes, from Norway 😊
Heck, I was hooked on WoW since before it's time, WC3 got it's claws in me, and I had to play WoW.
I'm at 1:21 in the video and he just said he was heading to menethil harbor. is it possible he's gonna say he went to howling fjord by mistake and loved the zone? I recently watched the old fishing with crendor where they were fishing there so this is just my guess xD
well I was close
What got me hooked, was reconizing places from wc2 and wc3. Seeing characters from those games. After some time, can't remember what level I was, I made a trip.
I wanted to see lordaeron. So I took my level 30ish human warrior from wetlands to lordaeron. I died about 10 times going through highlands, and reconizing (I think) stromgarde keep. (Whatever name of the keep you help when you meet trollbane from wc2 expansion)
Then I made my way to lordaeron.
The Machinima "Tales of the Past" and the Ashbringer's lore overall hooked me while leveling.....i was so mad when i realized i didnt have enough time before Wrath to get the Corrupted Ashbringer
awesome to see you back, Moocluck! I do gotta question on the video, are all these small scenes I am seeing actual cinematics or fanmade?
Moocluck 💜💜💜
Great video !
Welcome back Sir Moocluck!
This is so good
Mine was getting ganked by a rogue over and over and over, in a rainy sodden Un'Goro. I was low level for the area. Just tremendous times.
Lol I know the feeling! I just started playing about a month before wrath. I remember hitting outlands and being blown off my seat! Such an amazing time. Funny enough I just got the red sword of courage off my first run!
Welcome back Moocluck!
Your introduction to Northrend is like straight out of a movie...
Such a wholesome video
Moocluck needs to Upload Vids again on his Channel!
Oh, the day I became addicted to WoW. Don't remember actually, I got hooked young around classic.
I was hooked as soon as I zoned in on Teldrassil during BC 😅 Great story, my first memory of Wrath was waiting with 764335778543 other ppl in the new Stormwind Harbor to get to Borean Tundra.
Love you man! I don't know who you are but you sure brought something familiar with this video. Although it's not the same, Im logging in right now!
Didn't even listen to the story, just glorious to hear Moocluck again
Yea, my brother got that blue proto drake, first try too, all after I invited him to join and do a heroic for once. I never saw it drop again, and I farmed until Legion 🤷♂️
Welcome back Moocluck
Moocluck is back!!!
I love you Moocluck! You are a legend!
Holy shit is Moocluck 🎉
You said that you had best introduction to the new content because you arrived in howling fjord but map in the background of the video shows its borean tundra :D
Awe great story!!! Makes me wanna play wow again!!
I can confirm as a Norwegian the fjord is a fjord
@Nixxiom👈 hit me up on 👆my telegram get a life bro
THE RETURN
nice and wholesome ! thanks !
The boat on the travel screen went to borean tundra xD
For me it was seeing the dark portal for the first time
Same feeling I had when I first saw Ironforge.
Ironforge was my favorite starting zone in classic.
I started WoW back then when I was 7.
Where are all these background videos coming from? They are amazing
Marry me, Moocluck. Heck, we can honeymoon on the cruise into Howling Fjord and maybe I can ride your blue protodrake (it’s cold up in there in the North, right?)
I’ve yet to get that drake and it’s been 3 years of trying. I got Invincible quicker.
Glad to see you’re back 😁
Loved this
