In a world that is more environmentally conscious than ever before, consumers are seeking products that make a positive impact on the planet.
Xero Shoes launched a limited edition “Speed Force ECO”, a version of their best selling Speed Force racing flat, made from innovative and unexpected sustainable materials.
The shoe’s upper is comprised of fruit-based “Fleather.” The sole is crafted from earth-grown materials inspired by a post-brunch stroll. Laces come from product derived from the Glycyrrhiza Glabra plant. And, the insole provides a sweet amount of cushioning, making the shoe comfortable enough to wear all day long.
Xero Shoes CEO, Steven Sashen, has been a vocal critic of “greenwashing” and so he says of the Speed Force ECO, "We have achieved our goal of creating a shoe that combines authentic sustainability as well as style, comfort, and minimalist design.”
Dennis Driscoll, Chief Product Officer adds, "We wanted to create a shoe that would make people stop and take notice. We've used materials that you wouldn't normally associate with shoes, but that offer unexpected benefits. It's exciting to see something new and innovative hit the market."
Early customers of the Speed Force EO are already raving about the shoe's unique design, eco-friendly materials, and surprising end-of-life application.
