with Amp sound, this cabinet assembles to form a fantastic game experience.
@Brandon Braxton A fine try advertising for a less secure internet traffic.
A tip for you: Try a secure internet medium and do not give irrelevant advise when not asked for.
Very cool that they also offer full size. My brother recently got a new house and huge entertainment area in the basement, wanted and arcade cab but the only stuff he could find at the time was way too expensive. This might be much more affordable!
Considering what it comes with, I'd say the price is justified. I dont see why ppl wouldn't get this over arcade1ups
This is awesome dude, the best option having my own bartop arcade without power tool, thanks for the share
Great video! I've been looking at building a bartop arcade for a while, and being able to also play n64 games with a controller would be a huge plus. A couple notes for a second video:
1) Please install a Pi 4 (overclocked, see 2) into this
2) Add a couple fans to the rear for cooling
3) Run through a couple of options for monitors - maybe maximum dimensions for best fit?
4) Add a couple of USB ports to the front for controllers
Hell yeah, this is absolutely badass! I'm getting this very soon.
Use a bottle of soapy spray to install the vinyl like the pros do. A little spray on the panel first and you can manoeuvre the vinyl. Flatten out any air pockets and the water will evaporate leaving the vinyl stuck in place. 👍
I tried that and it didn't stay stuck on mine :/ All the stickiness was gone
the raspberry pi is such an amazing little board
I purchased and assembled the arcade in your video from the Minnesota location. Before retirement I built furniture with this stud and cam lock system as a side job. You are better off to put a high quality wood glue in every joint. I also put a light behind the upper display.
My system did not include games and I am currently researching games for my grandchildren to play with me.
The options you show were not available last year. Thank you for the tips.
I'm really happy I have a Microcenter by me. I hope they keep expanding so everyone can see why they're so great.
I soooo want one of these, looks and sounds amazing
You can use a heat gun along the edges to permanently bend the wrap and cover the sides. If you don't use the heat gun, the bent portion of the wrap will start peeling off the edges. There are several tutorials on RUclips on how to apply it on a vehicle.
Can and Should
A heat gun would be OTT and dangerous. You are better off using a hair dryer it will produce enough heat, but not as much as a heat gun so a lot safer.
@@marknorville9827 Agreed, the MC build video recommends cutting the molding. Works like a charm! The instructions are terrible.
hey man, you dont bent anything at all, just cut the edges and use a trim
an actual heatgun, like i use in my garage would destroy the vinyl layer within seconds (2-3)
This is awesome! Should see a bunch more images floating around the net for Raspberry pi!
Keep making cool images!!!!
Like what was mentioned earlier. I owned a sign shop for years and did alot of vinyl lettering and graphics. Clean surface thoroughly and use either full strength Windex or soapy water and soak the area your applying decal, position and using a soft plastic or rubber squeegee starting in the middle work out to the ends to get out air bubbles. Any bubbles left pierce with pin.
The ONLY good thing about living in So Cali, is the Micro Center in Orange County. I hope Micro Centers make it through this covid crap, cause (my go to store) Fry's Electronics just went out of business. 😣
i went there last year for my computer parts, and built my current gaming rig!
Micro center makes $$$ they sell computers for u to build and I always see people buying parts for there computer $600+ sales
@General Riley 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Likwidfox not anymore
@General Riley i agree. So how do we proceed?
Awesome video bro! As always ... thanks for posting 😎👍✨
I have just the microcenter Atari 2 player stick with no trackball and no rasberry pi. Took the single encoder out and put in two PS3 encoders. Works on everything now thanks to converters. Love using it on my Dreamcast the most.
Fry's is dead. Hope Microcenter survives.
I hope so, we had tiger direct years ago and they also shut down. I don’t want to buy my PC parts from Best Buy
@@ETAPRIME Canada Computers is still competing around where i live
@@ETAPRIME Microcenter didn't seem to be going anywhere here in SoCal, business is very strong every time I go
Man I am soo bummed about Fry's Amazon is killing niche stores .
RIP Fry's. Would be nice if Micro Center would come to replace them in the Indianapolis area.
You should leave excess on the vinyl, it gets pinned under the t-molding and this will prevent the vinyl from peeling off over time.
Excellent tip.
Same as the folds under the buttons ;)
nice little kit, i got the 3/4 arcade unit. should be done today.
Was literally talking about cutting an arcade cabinet in half and stuffing a computer in there and some plugs for optional controllers or hit boxes. Then I see this, the internet is an incredoble place.
Wow, this is pretty awesome.
Yesss this is the content I followed you for mostly
Oh man, I really want this thing!
That's a very nice setup
Great video. Need something like that.
I noticed that speaker issue also glad you caught it.
Love the Mircocenter here in Dallas, TX.
That's a great DIY kit for the price. Just build and play. I prefer the old school cabinets, but the weigh a ton and take up way more space.
They have a full size kit as well, don't even think it costs much more than this.
Awesome! I'm getting one
Ironically, I was JUST a Microcenter yesterday. That place is a fricking computer candyland. It's like Newegg, but in meatspace. It was all I could do to stop myself from spontaneously SQUEEEing after seeing walls of motherboards, processors, hard drives, SSDs, cases, monitors, etc.
I consider myself fortunate that my "local" Microcenter is only an hour away.
There are so many cool Raspie Gadgets
I LOVE
Micro Center
Looks decent, man. Really liking the decals.
Another great video!!!!
I would love the get a hand on something like that in Europe, to install my Raspberry ;)!
nice machine
I may go to microcenter today. There's one a few miles from me apparently.
Wow I did a good job with the one I made . Mirco center is a cool store , I was just there this weekend
Ooh I was looking for something like this 👀
That is awesome
Me watching the video: "Damn i should go to a MicroCenter."
Also me: * Lives in Germany *
Same here, but I live in the US, just nowhere near a MicroCenter. They really need to consider expanding into the Pacific Northwest.
Yup, UK here :-( :-(
Chile here, we have sone sgores but it is pretty expensive. For my first amp i couldn't find one and suddwnly i found one in a city over 800 kms 😆, at least it worked.
i feel your pain , from belgium
@@Damaniel3 they dont ship,?
Cool AF!
Currently building a vertical arcade cabinet for the older school games like Pacman, Q-bert, various scrolling shooters etc. My next project is going to be closer to this I think.
I don't like those visible screws for the joystick, it's just as easy to fit them from the back and conceal them although with this being pre-drilled you don't get that choice, my favourite Atari games are vertical so this is counterproductive for me, I built my own bartop a few years ago but the only artwork on it is on the control panel and marquee, I like that side art that comes with this kit
Yea saw they had that bartop kit on sale. Thought about picking one up but I'd have to find a way to shoehorn a tiny trackball in there for sure.
Seems very cool. There's a Micro Center across town here in Columbus OH I like to go to occasionally. I recall that MC also was selling around Christmastime USB spinners...if you're gonna play games like Breakout and Tempest, they're better with spinners. As small as this seems to be, I suppose a trackball (for games like Centipede. Millipede and Missile Command) is out of the question. But other than that, this seems like a really cool option.
Luv your works
Keep going
A great idea for those of us with houses, not mansions. 👍
The amps looks like the budget one that i bought for thw car speakers that I installed on my arcade cabinet, some time later i changed them for Hifiberry for the Rpi4.
love your vids bro
This cabinet looks like it will be fun playing some old mame arcade games in 2 players. At the moment we are playing with 4 controller on my pc for 4 player mode so guess this won't do so well when you want to have a couch session.
I wish South Africa can get a Micro Center. As i do brows there wares and they have some of the best prices. Here we pay almost double for hardware so a Micro Center would do nice.
Alberta Canada here. We have JACK SH*T for any computer store. Kills me to watch some of your videos. I hate mail order or some items. Some things one just needs to touch and feel
BTW.. That cabinet is freaking AWESOME. My son and I got into the Pi pretty much because of your videos. Love them videos keep them coming. If you need a home for some of this stuff.. Hook a fella up 😆
Somehow, I really really love this one :D
OMG, the hours and $$$ dropped at the MicroCenter in Cambridge, MA... I love you MicroCenter.
$450 for everything, including the monitor, is nuts. Wish I had a Micro Center near me. You'd think of all places, the Raleigh triangle (i.e. east coast nerd capital) would have one.
If I didn't already owned a bartop arcade, I would have definitely ordered one of these. It looks pretty cool. What maybe they should include in the future, is an option to add a coin mechanism. Mine has one. It adds to the realism, and nostalgia.
How tho, this is a bartop, so no cabinet area for the coin slot...
@@phabeondominguez5971 Simple, mine bartop is big enough to hold the coin box inside. The PCB board is screwed on the wall of the cabinet. The coin box is on the left of the cab. And the coin mechanism is at the front. Is a simple design. The cabinet is made of metal, not wood.
@@lexsteel12 that sounds legit, got a pic?
Very cool
I feel a 12 minute video didn't do this segment justice.
Actually enjoy watching construction from scratch and time-lapse of the process but thanks for the video anyway. It was enjoyable still.
A little tip to apply such decals without any hassle is to spray the wood with dish soap water, place the decal on top and then scrape/push out the dish soap water with a credit card or something similar.
Didn't work for me with this vinyl
What an awesome project! Not a fan of the button panel artwork though. Very busy.
Very clean ! I wish they included another encoder, the Xin-mo has horrible latency. Still awesome though.
muito legal,otimo video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SUPER ... I love ❤️ it
I go to the MA location. It glorious! Thankfully it's about an hour away. If it was any closer I'd be bankrupt
Love it
Really Niiiiiiiiiice!!!! 👍👍
LOL, that video of GPU's on the shelves made me chuckle for sure.
No doubt! I gave up looking for a replacement for my 770 and figure I'll just wait it out.
Oh, if I'm spending that kind of scratch, it better be fully built.
They have a prebuilt controller setups . No screen. The "Atari Dual Fight Stick with Trackball ". Its pretty nice quality and even has little hydraulic hinges and a lock oddly. Its cheaper (not cheap) but the build quality is decent. (I have it without a pi., though they sell that too. mine has a spot to mount it inside. ).
@@AramComjean That's more like it!
This feels way too much like Ikea for my taste...
honestly, it coming as a kit doesn't bother me, it makes it less likely to break in shipping if you get it shipped.
Please do a Raspberry Pi tutorial for adding games on this specific one or point of us newbs in the right direction to find out how 🙏
You won't believe me but only yesterday I was looking for new arcades to buy
Love the video ... Hate that Micro Center does not ship this .. you have to buy in store :(
Agreed!
Please come to Delaware, Microcenter!
Awesome
for someone who has one, this is remarkably similar (read: identical) to the game room solutions deluxe bartop. I hope he's getting a kickback from MicroCenter on this...
You can't patent wooden patterns. 😌
They don't ship store pickup only. That sucks!
yea I agree. I can see not wanting to ship the bigger items, but the bartop , there's no excuse
Wish they would build a Micro Center in Arizona
I guess you never heard of ordering off the website
@@dishwasherdrew9287 yes i heard but im one those who loves to go into tech store to see all the new stuff, micro center looks like what Frys used to be back in the days I miss that.
I would be interested if they shipped!
Cool...
This is a great quick review but I got the kit with the with the trackball and to sticks. The RetroPi on this one for me was locked. I wasn't able to add games or cores. I would love to see a how to on this particular Atari Pi.
"Alright. So let's check out this Atari bar top cabinet." Proceeds to play MAME...
MAME includes lots of Atari, Namco, Bally, Midway, Sega, Konami, etc
Would be great to do something like this for European products!
Did you add games to the SD card that it came with? Or did you install a different SD card. I bought the 3/4 cabinet and looking to add more ROMS. Thanks for the great video!
Great video, do you know where you can buy a do-it-yourself kit like this that would have a trackball and include Miss Pac-Man?
Not a shill, but I live right up the street from one of the OG Microcenters and I'm there at least once a month getting SD cards on the cheap. They also have Pi prices that are $10 less than Amazon's cheapest.
They also sell Bawls if you want to feel like it's a 1999 LAN party.
Windex the cabinet and apply the vinyl "wet" and squegee the windex out to apply it best..
Will this make the cabinet smell like Windex?
We need more stores like this in the UK. Instead all we have is PC World which is rubbish/garbage.
I made something like this, but I wish I knew you could install speakers. I ended up buying a jbl speaker and connected it through headphone jack of the pi
given the games surprised this didn't come with a track ball
Poppoman tools are a good value, 90 bucks for a brushless drill with a metal chuck and gear box
I would have bought one of these if they shipped them out
7:09 squeeze some wood glue on that split MDF and clamp the sides. If you do it before you apply the edging, shove some wallet cards in the groove so you don't squash it.
What is MDF?
@@velara314 lmgtfy.app/?q=MDF It's the "wood" this whole thing is made of. And the corner nearest the camera at the noted time stamp is separating. Either from shopping damage or moisture absorption.
I wish Canada had microcentre
Does the bar top cabinet include the monitor? I picked up two of them when they were on sale, haven’t had a chance to crack them open. Micro Center is awesome.
This is a pretty cool product, but I don't really understand the side art choices... they picked two games that you can't even control properly with the included joysticks and buttons. If you're going to put Centipede artwork on it, there ought to be a trackball included.
LOL i thought the same thing. Think it's just what they went with for the theme, but i agree, if you can't play it, why have the art on there? lol
If you’re into DIY, I make a wall mounted cabinet with a steel frame for Umbrella Arcades.
What would you recommend for an all-around complete built arcade game ? I just bought the ms pacman 1-up, but I’m looking for something with the latest technology with all the games built-in I’m also waiting for a new pinball digital pinball to get released something besides the one up or legends🤔🤔
Central Illinois here. No Micro Center around here. Wish there was.
How Central? Brentwood,MO isn't that far over the border.
Chicago and Westmont, IL have microcenters
Dang, wish Micro Center shipped to Canada UnU
Offer them some dollars.
We can only ship to the 50 United States and Washington, DC. We cannot ship any U.S. territories including Puerto Rico, Guam or the Virgin Islands. We cannot ship internationally to other countries. This includes Canada... I am screwed too. I might go in November to US and bring one back...
@@garybefrank rubbish. Ever heard of UPS or FedEx?
@@Nickbaldeagle02 You have personally sent something to Canada from Micro center? They dont have any options from them. If you want to do like a shipping redirect( they mail to US address then redirect it to Canada)- which is way more expensive than it is worth. In addition, they only offer only pick up for this model. Not sure about the rest
Great video. Did you overclocked the pi for mvc2 to run smoothly? It's lagging as shit on min raspberry 3b
I wish micro center was in florida
