Nice work! Actually with the help of a friend of mine, very much capable at DIY and with proper tools like drilling equipment and the alike, we, today, made something very much similar to this one. Same slider (80cm) and obviously the TurnsPro timelapse motor, though I only have one of it, for the time being. A second TurnsPro head might come later.
Hi, they are slow, but yours may have a problem if it's very slow. The fastest turn is 20 seconds (I think) but you can speed it up for the slider with a different sized gear on the pulley rope
You can adjust the speed with the Turnspro, not sure on the fastest, but would be faster enough for video and can slow it down to really slow for time-lapse
Regal State hi, yes from the UK, found the corner brackets and pulleys in B&Q. Pulleys were attached to a metal holder, but just easily ground them off
Do the pulleys add too much friction that you can’t do a normal hand held slider shot? I love the video and the idea of attaching the Turnspro for time lapse, but say I just need a quick slider scene for some b roll...will I have to remove everything to get the smoothness back like it originally was?
@@WillGudgeon thank you for the reply, I would love to do this but those turnsup, are $99 dollars each plus the slider it’s like $300 total. 😢 I might just do the i footage shark nano it’s like another $200 but it has a lot of features. Stilling amazing idea tho👍
ak g it will work on a slight upward angle, depending on the size of the camera, if you had just a gopro should do okay. I will test it out and let you know.
the 1/4" converter i picked up from eBay and the pulley was from a local DIY shop, have a list of links for parts here >> willgudgeon.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/diy-1-2-axis-timelapse-slider-using.html
No, no, no, he’s gonna say it; noooooo! “A little coo-plurr” argh!!! That’s not a word. Does he mean “coupler” 😂 01:03 Seriously though, you cannot get get this combination of pieces in a hardware store.
Nice one - like the idea! Working on my own DIY slider ideas - might try this one
I would love to have seen some of your footage with the camera using this setup. Great tutorial. Thanks.
Hey Alan, I have a video here which shows it in action and a final result ruclips.net/video/zJTOVWa9Pms/видео.html
Sweet!! Such a brilliant idea and not a stepper motor in sight
Amazing WILL GUDGEON

Genius! Great idea, even better execution!
Thank you for this. I was lookoing for a way to use my Turnspro this way. Its so much easier when somebode already figuered it out. Thanks again :-)
FANTASTIC..............I will be doing this. Great solution Will. Have you had any ideas as to how to make a three axis one ?
glorious, just what i was looking for...thank you so much
Thx, was just wondering how to do this. RUclips gives help sometimes
Will: Please I need your help. My Turns Pro is spinning very very slowly. How can I fix it? Please help me, thanks in advance for your answer

great idea!
Can you make it go faster as well?
What would the max speed be?
You can adjust the speed with the Turnspro, not sure on the fastest, but would be faster enough for video and can slow it down to really slow for time-lapse
@@WillGudgeon thanks,
Do you think it might be possible to create a curved diy slide? Didn't find any data about it 😅
@@PapyOurs91 🤔 I think it could be done, but a lot of work to get it to work, it's always worth a try 👍
Would be great to know If from the UK where did you find the corner bracket and pulleys?
Regal State hi, yes from the UK, found the corner brackets and pulleys in B&Q.

How are you panning? manually or using another device?
I used another device to pan
@@WillGudgeon "Another device"? thanks - I'll look into that.
A brilliant idea - thank you.

Wow amazing, just wondering will it stop once it’s at the end of travel or do you have to intervene? Thanks in advance 👍
You have to stop it yourself

Does it work in upward angle ?? Will turnspro have enough power to move in upward inclined direction???
ak g it will work on a slight upward angle, depending on the size of the camera, if you had just a gopro should do okay. I will test it out and let you know.
Very good idea..Thanks
can you add links to each part ? I want to get them individually
All links I have individually are here www.willgudgeon.com/2018/04/diy-1-2-axis-timelapse-slider-using.html
how much does the slider cost's?
This particular one is around £70
Is there a way to simulate a tracking shot with just one?
possibly, but not personally sure how.
Thats great idea. Thanks
This is awesome. Anyway to get a list of the items used with links?
Thank you, added a few links to what I used here. willgudgeon.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/diy-1-2-axis-timelapse-slider-using.html
Great video! Thank you
Will: Do you know where can I buy TurnsPro here in the United States?. Thanks in advance for your answer
Hi, Daniel, not sure if anyone stocks them in the United States, but TurnsPro do ship for an extra £10 www.turnspro.com/shop/
Nice work!! Do you manually stop it?
You can set the turnspros to do a set amount of rotations etc but I find it easier just to manually stop it
where did you buy your 1/4" converter part + pulley gear from?

Good tips thanks
What length was the slider 100cm?
Michael Cunningham yes 100cm
Super vidéo 😀
Un français !
I love it! Just a quick question. Is there any way to speed up the motion? Would a larger wheel fix that?
Yes, bigger wheel will move it along faster, smaller much slower. Not sure how big you could go before putting to much strain on the motor.
Nice easy co struction.
M
Wooow,,very good
Excellent 🙏🏻🎥👏🏻❤️
very wonderful
Bravo
I tried this motor and I found it to be grossly UNDERPOWERED for the price.
Cheap?
it doesn´t work, the sliding velocity is to slow. You need a 5sec/turn to cross the hole slider in 1 min, Turnspro has only a velocity of 20 sec/turn.
Who said anything about crossing the slider in 1 minute?
No, no, no, he’s gonna say it; noooooo!
“A little coo-plurr” argh!!! That’s not a word. Does he mean “coupler” 😂 01:03
