I just designed a "billboard" for a friend's streaming schedule and knew setting up an editable form would be easiest for them; they wouldn't need me as a middleman for future versions/schedules. I was hitting a roadblock trying to figure out how to keep the styling consistent in the text fields and this video helped me get every setting exactly where I needed it. Thanks a ton!
Thanks for this tutorial!! I have a question: is Acrobat the only way to format the text, or is there any more you can do in InDesign? If you change something in the ID file and re-export the PDF, won't you have to re-add all of the customization in Acrobat again?
Would it be a problem if you use an imported typography (one that is not on every computer) and send the pdf to someone else that doesn’t have that font installed? Will they be able to fill the text?
Thank you very much Josh. I could not figure out how am I not able to format text fields in InDesign. That workaround in Acrobat worked perfectly. Is this the only way we can actually format editable text fields for now? Imagine exporting low quality .pdf doing all the post export edits and then the client sends it back with quality issues and you can start all over again..
How do you fit a name that is really long into the text field? I tried to incorporate multiline/scrollable, but it doesn't seem to expand the text field.
Hey there! If you right click on the text field in Acrobat, you can pull up properties. In the properties menu, go to the "options" tab. Within that tab, there will be a check box for "multi-line". Check that box and you should be good to go! (Also, decrease the font size if there is not enough room using the properties menu, as well. I hope this helped!
OMG you are a life savior Wallamoose. Thank you!!! I couldn't find a video explaining how to edit the textbox in Acrobat
Finally... After I don't know how many websites, this is the first usable content. Thank you ♥

can you do a rotation of -90 degree fro the block text
?
Can you do the same thing fo photos?
I’m not sure, I’ve never tried it - do you mean have editable photos where you can change them out?
Can you pre-populate the text field so that the user knows there is an editable field there to type into?
Yes you can add placeholder text in settings or type “text here” manually and save
How can I write a paragraph? It doesn't allow me to write more than one sentence in each box, even if the box is big.
