You did a good job being fair when discussing the pros and cons the older and newer Harley Dynas have. This video was engaging due to both talking while performing stunts on your bike.
Frame and swingarm is everything when it comes to ease of wheelies. Anyone who manuals a BMX knows the difference that 1/2" in the chainstay means (short for street, long for dirt and race ie high speed). That's the reason I chose a 2016 Dyna, because I built the engine up to go 150mph in 6th gear, not to wheelie. I would never take my stunt bike over 90mph or so, its just a totally different goal. A club bike, and a stunt bike are modified very differently, they just look similar to beginners.
05 fuel injected Superglide here, Cobra 2000 Fuel Enhancer & Freedom Performance exhaust system are only mods & this TC88 runs very strong, at 643lbs is basically like a Sportster on steroids, light, agile & plenty of power for me anyway, great bike, I highly recommend one
I have a 07 dyna bought it before knowing about stunt bikes it’s definitely way more bulky and just feels more of a tank im in to deep now but if i were to start over it would be probably 04-05 fuel injected
04/05 where crap they had gearbox trouble & self destruction cam followers that killed a lot of motors . Fuel injection beats carbs hands down & can be fine tuned with a kit like my power commander. Do yourself a big favour & keep away from the 88 cui motor.
I really liked my buddy's "preDyna Dyna", a 1978 FXE with an S&S stroker crank. Sweet bike, at high rpms on avgas it sounded more like a real racing machine than most HDs.
I have a 2000fxr4 and I just can't see me in a newer bike. Nothing against the new bikes. Love my 1340 Evo sound and love the handling of the fxr frame
I have had 3 dyna,s a 96 evo a 08 fat bob &a013 street bob the fat bob was great but a bit heavy in the steering even with 16 inch apes .the street bob is great light as my evo without all the trouble like carby settings & no ABS .
On new dynas models change the rear sprocket.to get that front wheel off the ground.my o7 when it was stock had more low end then my 03 dyna.i prefer my 07 I'm 5'8. And have no issues making my bike dance
Looking at an ‘08 with a hair under 10k miles. I was going to check out new bikes but I could pay for this with just my down payment of a newer bike. Kind of torn on which way to go.
I just got a 02 fxdx with 5k miles all original for 4 grand. Guy didn’t ride much it last ten years. It was on facebook for 25 hours and I was his 100th call. but I was the only one who said I would take it no questions asked no haggling on price. He only wanted 4K why even haggle!
I have a 81 FXS low rider since 1982. Not into stunts. Never liked the FXR frame styling but they are better than FX or Dyna for stunts. Or so I’m told
What’s your com and Vlog while riding set up? We are wanting to buy a com system for me and my son to communicate and possibly others but I like the idea for possible videos as well. Your mic always sounds great. What helmet, mic, com and is it directly connected to the camera?
I would never stunt my Dyna, but having sat on both early and later Dynas, I prefer the later versions. The early Dynas feel so small and cramped. The 6th gear is very nice on the later Dynas as well.
I'm confused on the newer ones. They are bulkier and seem bigger but when you sit on one it feels a little more cramped.... Was I just high that day or what?
Changing where the the oil is sucked in the oil pan. The intake for oil is at the front of the pan. When you wheelie it’s sucking air because all your oil goes to the back of the pan. You need to make it intake farther towards the back of the bike so when it’s upright it still gets oil
I took mine to Kruesi Originals (local shop here in Phx). They did the oil pan mod and recently posted a video on how to do it. Check their YT channel @kruesioriginals.
Hey dude, what’s the rise on your DC pullback risers? We’re about the same height and I’m shopping for a pair on my 17’ low rider s. I don’t know whether to go 6” or 8”. Thanks in advance!
Jon, question for you. When u buy a bike and sell it. Do you change the title to your name in between? Or do you sell the bike with the title from the previous owner? Thanks, mate.
I feel like my dyna is perfect for some things but parts like a seat and mid controls 04 (fxdli) I paid out my ass for cuz 04-05 were kinda odd years but it's a 5 speed and fuel injected
Hi Jon. Thanks for this vid. Do you know up to what year the older, smaller Dynas were in production? Did it specifically coincide with them going from carbureted to fuel injected? If so, then I can find out what year that was. I'm on the smaller side too, and really want a Dyna that'll fit me better. Carbureted is no problem for me - actually prefer the sound of them. Thanks !
The “older” dynas were made up until 2005. Unfortunately they all came with mechanical cam chain tensioners but hydraulic upgrades are available and a good upgrade.
@@12131AllDay I know. But they still call it a streetbob right? Or a lowrider? Last I checked they were dynas turned soft tail. That’s why the “new” dynas suck. Based on the title of the video.
You did a good job being fair when discussing the pros and cons the older and newer Harley Dynas have. This video was engaging due to both talking while performing stunts on your bike.
For me just riding from point A to point B I like the newer frame, fork and 6 speed Dynas.

Well explained
What is a club style. Would that be gay pride club. I dont think a Pagan would ride those gay pride floats
Purpose built over all around any day. Otherwise its like a dual sport, can do it all but it's good at nothing.

I've got an 06 fxdwg, just swapped the front forks to 08 to get the 25mm front axle but I'm there with ya about being in too deep

Hell yeah brutha. Another awesome video. Thanks for the shout out 🙏🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Confirmation bias achieved. Thank you sir!
Jon good to hear your voice, God bless you and your family
Thank you son 🙏

Like my dad's 81 shovel. They weren't called dynas back in the day.
Wish i never sold my 2006 dyna low rider. Now im looking for low mileage Dyna Low Rider S just love those
I have a 2000fxr4 and I just can't see me in a newer bike.
Nothing against the new bikes.
Love my 1340 Evo sound and love the handling of the fxr frame
If it's a 2000 model it doesn't have an evo? Through the Evo line was 84-99? My 94 dyna definitely is but I'm pretty sure it ended in 99.
I thought it was the other way around that the carb doesn't need a breather mod but the fuel injection does hmm thanks for clearing that up
Hi,
You're a boss!
What year is the Dyna? I missed the information.
Thanks ✌
Dyna is 2000 fxdx 💯🤘
I have had 3 dyna,s a 96 evo a 08 fat bob &a013 street bob the fat bob was great but a bit heavy in the steering even with 16 inch apes .the street bob is great light as my evo without all the trouble like carby settings & no ABS .
Just picked up an 05 fxdc that’s got efi. Freakin love it. I sold my ZX10r for it
The first gen Dyne goes to what year? And what suspension mods is needed for curvy and bumpy roads?
91-98 for evo engine early model. 99-05 twin cam early model. 06-2017 for late model frame.
Luckily I went 2004, still older Dyna fxdxi, but also fuel injected. Guess I got best of both worlds 🙏🏻
They put a better gear in the early efi bikes
That's a bad ass bike bro. Congrats on the FXDXI.
On new dynas models change the rear sprocket.to get that front wheel off the ground.my o7 when it was stock had more low end then my 03 dyna.i prefer my 07 I'm 5'8. And have no issues making my bike dance
Title: Here's Why The Old Dyna Is So Much Better...
Video: they are about the same lol shouldershrug
Does this count as clickbait?
1999 FXDWG checking in.
I’m thinking ‘03 or older Sportster, set it up for some mild off-road/desert and city riding.
Looking at an ‘08 with a hair under 10k miles. I was going to check out new bikes but I could pay for this with just my down payment of a newer bike. Kind of torn on which way to go.

How long does your battery last between charging? Looking at this 94 for daily riding
Eeeey happy 4/20 😂 🚬
Shadetree premiere now, watching later
I don't actually smoke btw
How come the sportster doesn’t need the oil pan mod, but the dyna does?
Not really a stunt rider. lol. I did although breakdown and get a Harley. Similar to you, I have great remorse after selling the VTX1800
Beautiful dyna, what size of wheels on your dyna? Thanks
So 2001 lowrider vs 2012 1200 custom, which one has more power for stunt and maneuverability
At least you have 2 into 1 exhausts and they make more power no matter how many cylinders you have.
Yeah, but which one is best according to Jon the man?! 🙎♂️🤷🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️
❤❤❤
I have a 81 FXS low rider since 1982. Not into stunts. Never liked the FXR frame styling but they are better than FX or Dyna for stunts. Or so I’m told

FXR = all night long with a super model
I approve this message

did that tac/speedo come with the bike? If not could you by chance point me in the direction on where to get one for myself? Thanks in advance!
Still love my 05 Lowrider. 🤘💯🇺🇲
Been waiting for this.
Thanks brother
Yessssss Harley content yeeeeeeeew you Rule brother
Hey does anyone know if I can modify my 99 wide glide into an FXDX???
I would never stunt my Dyna, but having sat on both early and later Dynas, I prefer the later versions. The early Dynas feel so small and cramped. The 6th gear is very nice on the later Dynas as well.
I had a Yamaha Raider,sold it,got a '17 FXDL..the FXDL felt tiny after sitting on the Raider,took a few rides to acclimate
I'm confused on the newer ones. They are bulkier and seem bigger but when you sit on one it feels a little more cramped.... Was I just high that day or what?
@Leon Wilcox early ones didn't come standard with 6.
@@brandonmacon3317 yes, lol.
@@rmtwofiftyzmann I've never sat a raider but I always thought they looked badass.
Light bikes are more fun for stunts. That is why you see more dirt bikes on the street, especially super light 2 strokes.
Hey Jon, what are the black wheels on your Matt black FXDB
They’re stock lowrider rims idk what year they started w these rims but for sure 06+ powder coated black.
What’s this oil pan mod everyone says you need to do for wheelies?

I do wheelies on my vrod
No love for the FXRs?!?
What type of motor?
I’m in between what Dyna to buy right now. When you say older how do you feel on evo vs twin cam?
Twin cam.... but not any newer than 05
Do you do the oil pan mod on your Harley’s for wheelies or just leave the stock pickup?
I took mine to Kruesi Originals (local shop here in Phx). They did the oil pan mod and recently posted a video on how to do it. Check their YT channel @kruesioriginals.
@@JonsMotoGarage Thanks man. I just got a 17 fxdls and I used to stunt my Yamaha Bolt but wanted to make sure I had that sorted before I took it out.

6" 💯🤙
If you don't stunt and like tearing it up then the fxdls is the way to go..🤙
what flannel is that bro
Jon, question for you. When u buy a bike and sell it. Do you change the title to your name in between? Or do you sell the bike with the title from the previous owner? Thanks, mate.
You have to change before you sell it because it is against the law not to
The 2002 to 2000 dyna would be the best because of the stronger crank shaft bearings.
Hi Jon have you ever ridden a ZRX or the new Z900RS?
Not yet but would love to try one out. 🤙❤
New doesn’t suck, the old one is just better for stunt stuff.
I feel like my dyna is perfect for some things but parts like a seat and mid controls 04 (fxdli) I paid out my ass for cuz 04-05 were kinda odd years but it's a 5 speed and fuel injected
Where did you get those gloves?
Rebel reaper clothing 🤙💯
My 09' fxd is twice the bike my buddy's 04 fxd is...BTW are those the T/C saddlebags? Look's siiick
Dude you wheelie a Harley...you're qualified!
and he did it very well,he's very under stated when it comes to himself
Jon king of dyno’s…. I’m king of hammers here at johnson valley (cheers)
Early model Dyna's especially the 01, 02 FXDX or FXDXT is like comparing the 70 Camero to a 1980 Camero, the early model is just more bad ass.
And in case you didn’t know they’re both 2nd gen camaros
The sportster they talk foe the begginer is the 883 or 1200?
Don’t ever buy an 883 imo. 1200+ when it comes to Harleys. Even for beginners
@BlackMountainCycles Why what's the problem with the 883s?
Love my 2012 dyna fat bob
An early TC dyna is only 58lbs heavier than a 1200xl.

pretty dank nooners
It doesn't wheelie matter
2002 fxdx is the best dyna to have for the true dyna bro. Too many reasons to list.. End of story.
I am the original owner of an '02 FXd Dyna, stage 1 kit, making carb, 32,000 mi all maintenance record thinking of selling in June
@@mike-fb1pu right on.. fxdx? The dx is the one I'm looking for..
Old dyna new dyna don’t matter long as it’s not a Softail lol. Imagine that loser thinking he’s cool because he has a Softail 😂
" I'm not a big dude, 5'8" " not sure if you know but most MotoGP riders aren't over 5'7" and those guys are insane riders
Jon the video title and video content don't match.
Street and dirt bike wheelies on asphalt is FUCKERY and just asking for any level of trouble. Just don't ride stupid and do some good.
No such thing as a new dyna
Easy cause it’s not a soft tail.
