Thanks for the great video. For #3, your colleague Shanil noticed removing the soft rubber end from the 10 foot long selfie-stick removes the black strip from the stitched seam. -Frank
Hey Ben, thank you for the tips... With my previews 360 cameras I used to shoot the sun right at the middle of the camera to get same exposure on both lenses because there was no HDR before, now with this new insta360 camera I love that HDR option, so it will compensate the exposure in sunlight. Again, Thank you for the tip!!
With the HDR on you find facing 1 lens toward the sun produces better footage?
Great tips! I just got an Insta360 One X and I'm taking it to Moab, Utah next week for a week of offroading and camping. This video couldn't have come at a better time! I have been following the Insta 360 camera for a little bit of time now. As well as Matterport a capturing camera. They cannow work together to create a 3d floor plan. Can you look at sharing how to do this and the costs associated with it?

The tip to use quick capture is great! I find the display is basically impossible to see in daylight so being able to just long press and start shooting is perfect. Great video!

Thanks for that short list. I’ve had my Insta360 One X for a couple of weeks now but haven’t had much time to play with it. The Quick Capture feature is exatly what I need! I find it really hard to read the display when in bright sunlight and I’ve missed some great opportunities. Learning, learning, learning. I hit that Subscribe button and notifications, of course!

Do you need to have the Insta360 selfie stick to make it invisible or any selfie stick will do?
Do you need to edit for focus perspective in Studio before Importing into FCPX? I tried to save the INSV files (000. and 010 pair for 5K) as 360 mp4 but they only come up as “fishbowl” mp4s in FCPX and I don’t see how FCPX can be used to set Perspective???
How to switch in timelapse mode between timelapse and normal mode?

Hi is it possible when recording to keep the camera pointing straight rather than showing my face in the video when I make a turn? I can change the point of focus in the Studio app on Mac on Freecapture. However it won't be a 360 video anymore.

Hello, your 360 videos are cool.... I have a question please. I’m unable to maintain correct orientation of the insta360 one x view. I mean that the video image isn’t parallel to the ground and keep swinging. I adjust it manually but when I select a pivot point it tilts again.I already did the gyro calibration..!

To tip #9: How do you slow it down - or speed the shutterspeed up? While in timelapse mode I couldn't find a key combination to switch from 1 pic/s to 30 pic/s.

You should try LumaFusion iOS app.. it’s like having Premier Pro on your iPhone/iPad! Just to list a few.. you can apply luts and complex color edits, animate with key frame, add up to 6 4K video layers and up to 12 audio layers, you can also add green screen chroma key out any color, create all kinds of cool transitions with a good size library of preset transitions, and one of my favs is the clipboard allows you to copy any edit from one clip to the next and you can also save edits to use on feature projects! Oh yea and you can reinject 360 metadata! Just to list a few😂
But seriously this app is awesome!
Thanks for the video! I've looked at Amazon feedback for the camera and seen people complain the camera isn't compatible with Android phones. Is that true? I just ordered a Samsung S20 and I'm looking into videoing. Another video mentioned IPhone compatibility, so it really makes me question whether the Insta360 is right for Android. I love its capability, but don't want to make a mistake. I would welcome your feedback. Cheers!

Really great, to the point tips. I uploaded 4K 50fps straight from my phone to RUclips the other day of a shark dive and RUclips will only display max 1080 50fps. Not sure how to get the good quality on RUclips happening for me...

You need to remove that little foam bit on the end of your extension pole... it leaves a black artifact in all your pole shots

Hi Ben, have watched few of your insta360 videos. Mine is just about to arrive and trying to learn as much as possible. Did Isnta360 release that plugin for FCPx or is it easier now to edit in desktop Studio app and then add music, voiceover in FCPX?

I think there is a "Photo" shutter button in the mobile app when watching videos, this will save a photo for you

Could you to a tutorial on editing the vids. Especially like to know how to transition from normal view to a tiny planet view. I haven't been able to figure it out in the Insta360 desktop software.
You need to click on the FreeCapture Button just above the Video Window.
Then there a yellow round cross icon will appear just under the video window on the left. Click on that and all viewing parameters will appear in the bottom left part of the App. I'm currently using version 3.3.2

So many other 360 RUclipsrs advise to always face the seam line towards the sun for better/equal exposure on both sides, and you're saying the opposite. So which is it?
Ha, I think it actually depends on the scenario, lighting conditions, time of day, camera movement, etc. That's why there are mixed signals. Experiment and see what works best for you

I'm not so sure about Item no. 1 as most 360 photographers does not recommend it...
I have the same battery problem thank you I thought it was just me camera needs to be stored with the battery out of the camera or the battery will be destroyed three or four times after storing the camera battery was completely flat for I don't know how long which is really bad for the battery battery should be stored half charge 60% really bad for battery to store it flat with no charge
So cool that Ryan Reynolds uses this camera!

1:10 if you take the plastic ring under the camera you will not see any spot :-) nice video.
Tip 13: Always make sure when laying your Insta360 ONE X on a flat hard surface (5:00) to always put it down on a protective soft case..otherwise you make risk scratching the lens which can result in an expensive repair or replacement. 😉
Tip #0 - Turn off all data on my phone before connecting to the One X. I use a OnePlus 5 (Android). I have to turn off Mobile Data and Bluetooth to get the One X to properly connect and stay connected to my phone. And, I have to tell the OnePlus version of Android OS to stay connected to the One X Wifi even though there's not Internet connection.
How often do you actually film with this camera?
Almost every week. Been integrating it's footage into my youtube vids
It looks like you can get some great footage with it. How tight can you zoom in to achieve a 1080p shot? It's hard to imagine it since it's spherical. Maybe you could do a video and show how much you can zoom in to get a 1080 shot or even a 720 shot.
I know for rules that I must moving stick with camera every 4 metres - then I must hide behind the wall to another room where I can watching what camera see over my iPhone or over lap top? .. Ok, and what then?
When and where I must press the button "take a picture" to shoot one of pictures?
Second - when I doing virtual tour of property how camera must be set up - on video or .jpeg - what I need for this?
Furhter - Am I shooting a picture ON the camera button or press some button on my lap top behind the wall when I watching what camera recording?
Or I set up stick with camera on position - going behind the wall to LOOK what camera see - get back to the camera and PRESS the BUTTON "shoot" (picture) ... then moving stick for another 4 metres, goes behind the wall, get back, press shooting ... or can I stand by the camera and just press the "take a picture" button?
can you record for extended periods (ie: up to 5 hours non stop) with a USB battery bank supplying power ?
Physically yes, but the camera was heat up so fast and may be stop recording or give you warning about card speed problem. Even the worst case the camera was haulted and showing file saving, at the end you lost that piece of recordings. That's my recently experience for a trip at Europe.
