I brought the Insta360 One X for a West coast trip. I solved the battery issue by using a RAM mount on the handlebars to which I connected a selfie stick with the USB charging cable taped to the stick and hooked it up to a USB power outlet. I to hate the microphone for ride footage, in editing I usually add a music track to cover up the wind noise. It would be great if they added an option to turn off the microphone.
Great all around video review and thank you for mentioning that danger increases when things are attached to a rider. I would go farther and point out that helmets work best when they are smooth and impact flat surfaces ~ the camera and/or its mount are neither smooth nor are they flat - both are rock shaped as well as greatly increase friction = likely will focus a magnitude more energy of an impact into a single point and/or grab the surface causing torsion on your neck/arm/chest vs skipping along. Riders, please consider this and decide for yourselves if it is worth it (for me, sometimes it's worth it :-) ) Cheers!
Ok, so I've watched two of your videos. Totally different subjects. Unbelievably articulate and precise description that doesn't go over anyone's head. Bloody big brain, nice natured Scandinavians!! Cheers, fella 👊🍍🕺👵🏍🕵️♂️🐠🤔
I have done extensive 360 work on my motorcycles. Starting with the Gear360 then fusion and now the Insta360 One X. The One X is the easiest work flow by far. And the results are fantastic. Insta360 has used much of my work for advertising and made me an Ambassador(the means you work for free). I myself have and shown similar setups on my GSA. But one we both left out is the an action camera chest harness. You would be surprised how good that looks. You should give it a try. Wether you are riding or walking thru a selfie stick prohibited zone. It does a great job.
Good tip on the chest harness. Ik will give that try. I'm using the Gear 360 (bought it for €80 last year). I stitch the footage in Action Director and edit the 360 footage in VSDC Video Editor.
Alot of good info here, thanks. I have one of these on the way, when it gets here I'm going to check your video again for more detailed info. Hoping to get this camera more into the motocross scene.
Very good review and just what I was looking for, since I'll be using on my bikes. While a niche camera, for some unique action shots it's just what the doctor ordered. Appreciated your patience too, made the video better.
Love your videos man! Bought the Hero 7 (unfortunately only the Silver) last year, then just picked up an Insta360 one x2 this year... your videos really help with my understanding of how to use the cameras and capture great footage. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Many people don't understand use case. While the 360 is great for B-Roll or to grab specific shots, it is not a good replacement for your every day vlog camera. I need something small to take into Amusement Parks and while getting ride footage the 360 will be nice, getting talking head videos between rides it wont be as good. I also think a gopro is a much better all around in my situation where I only want one camera.
I have a GoPro Fusion and you can edit in that mobile app to. Difference is you can't set at key point (I think, haven's seen it). Don't see a difference in any other way (exporting etc) so when choosing a 360 camera I would go for which ever have the best image quality. I think the problem with 360 video is the quite tedious handling from previewing to exporting and editing. The benefits just don't upweight the downsides compared to regular very well stabilized phootage from for example Hero7 that's also a much smaller and more easy to mount camera. Great video though! :)
It is a great video. I thought it is water proof up to a certain point? How do you capture a race that lasts longer than your battery life? You definitely dont get the chance to ask for a timeout to replace your battery during the race. 🙂
I use the Insta360 One X in conjunction with a chin-mounted Sony FDR-X3000. I mount the Insta360 behind my S1000RR windscreen so it gets a 360 view that includes TFT instrument console, front view, body position, helmet/eye orientation, side views, etc. It's an outstanding adjunct to the chin-mount rider view for cutaways and overlays. One problem I have with it is the Insta360's vibration sensitivity. When connected to the triple clamp, even with rubber-containing mounts, I regularly get camera freezes/crashes that also corrupts the video file. This happens for about one of every 3-4 videos. It doesn't happen with a suction mount to the front of my tank, but I don't like this position as much. I just sent my camera back to Insta360 for RMA replacement in hopes the problem is specific to my unit and not endemic to the model.
In my experience, while using three simultaneous Insta360 One X cameras nearly daily on my 360 channel for long 30 minute recordings, the battery lasts for a good two 30 minute recordings, and that’s it. When paired to a phone via WiFi, it may not quite make it to the end of the second recording. I haven’t had any issues with it only lasting 10 or 30 minutes as you have? Strange. Great video!
I bought a akaso brave 4 for 80$ cnd, has image stabilizer and spare battery and every accessory possible lol. it’s been amazing, perfect starter action cam. AliExpress.
thumbs up.. finally a useful video answering the better questions ..I was surprised log mode, with more data bits would yield a poor result even after color grade.. thanks for sharing .. very useful
Thank you for the info my friend you were informative O do like how you were honest and said Insta did not send you that. Because most if the other videos I always wondered about that. Makes you think about their opinions and how biased things are. Thank you for the info
I liked your video. It was informative. But I believe you are selling people short by assuming they would be better suited to get the older, less capable models if they don’t have experience. I learn best by using things. The curve can be hard, but I can handle new tricks. Cheers
Very good video my friend I’m looking into the 360R. Can you please give us a video on this and also how to get the motorcycle mounting options??? Thank you very much
Very helpful, thank you. I've just bought one of these but mainly ride in the UK where it's usually cloudy. Should I just keep it on 5k 30, auto iso or would you recommend another setting? Thanks.
I color grade in log & it seems good. Maybe I need to compare without. Also there is a waterproof case. I'll have to search for that backpack pole set up.
Great vid, as usual. I have a GoPro 8 and am now looking for a 360 camera ... was looking at the One R (with dual lenses), but that’s probably a bit outdated like this X is now ... looks like the X2 addresses issues like battery life and the X not being waterproof ... Does it address the issues about 24 FPS and 60 FPS settings that were missing from the X? Is the X2 the current go-to 360 option, do you think? I assume it supercedes the One R’s 360 functionality anyway, if without the lens/‘lego’ flexibility ... ?
The Xiaomi Mi Sphere also allows you to grab the stitched video directly on your phone , with regular file format, but the quality and stabilization are lower
Great video. I edit my films with Davinci so if i bought this camera would you say be easier to edit on phone then export....? You sold the idea of buying this camera lol L&R
Hi Mike what do you think about the new X2 version, I am undecided if i wont one of these for my bike. would love to grab the shots of the views that i can't get from my helmet cam.
Thanks for the sharing information... this is a very worth camera to record our motoadventure, btw, I just want to make sure again this Insta360 just records for about 30m only?
Thanks for your videos, I like them and appreciate you sharing. I have one question, when driving with your insta360, do you use the battery or a usb power cable to get power from the bike?
Your tutorial on how to edit the insta360onex is fantastic! Better then the online tutorials. Can’t wait to film and start some editing

I want you to be my teacher for everything in life, very good explanation and easy to understand.
This was by far the best video containing the recording and how difficult or simple it is to video edit.
Great all around video review and thank you for mentioning that danger increases when things are attached to a rider. Glad you touched on the microphone aspect of the camera. Exact reason I got rid of mine and went GoPro with external microphone.
you have a very therapeutic tutorial ambience in your voice - but that doesn't let viewers oversee the hardwork you have put in this tutorial - wow
Thank you for the informative and honest review.
Ok, so I've watched two of your videos.

nice tutorial and advice, when i saw others youtuber 360 video, it look so cool.. but after i saw how to edit it hahaha... so many work need to do....
One of the best informative reviews for bikers! It answers my questions - the actual video resolution is "poor". Many thanks! Regards.
Thank you for sharing the adapter, was exactly what I was looking for!
Does a Insta365 one r fit on it? Thx
Alot of good info here, thanks. I have one of these on the way, when it gets here I'm going to check your video again for more detailed info. Hoping to get this camera more into the motocross scene.
You are the best person in the world!
Wow thank you for this amazing video very well explained 🙌🏻
Very good review and just what I was looking for, since I'll be using on my bikes. While a niche camera, for some unique action shots it's just what the doctor ordered. Appreciated your patience too, made the video better.
Dope stuff.... It's the best advice
Awesome video and great review. Thanks!
Well done, Mike - great video, very informative and the sequence on the use of Final Cut Pro was an excellent intro on it.

Wow, what a great review. Thanks a lot Mike.
Legend this guy
Nice video, very easy to follow tutorial and honest opinions!
Seeing that my phone pretty much only shows in 1080, that drive by with a tiny bit of editing looks great.
Thumbs up for that Multi! Also great tutorial.
Thank you for this review!
Thanks! This helped me get started with my vr riding videos
thanks for the info sir. You are really informative ilk rate this vid 100/100 thumbs up

Wowwwww Thank you for this 360 idea
Yoo I dead ass thought this was Johnny sins for a second 😂😂😂😂😂
Reason(s) why I am watching this is the stabilization capacity of the camera ;) ahahahha

Great great video! So clear and useful. I guess I’d wait for Fusion 2 or Insta 2
You rock!! Thanks Mike!
thats cool thanks for sharing watching from manila
I agree with a lot of what you said , but I can get a solid 50-60 minutes of recording 5.7k @30FPS
This is very informative. The camera is very amazing. Wish to have one like that.
Thanks, It was so ilustrative

That thumb nail cracked me up! You could put a blinker on that thing!
Can you please put a link for the backpack mount that you have used in this video
vijey kumar its the insta 360 back bar mount check the instastore ;)
Answers all my questions thanks
Great job
Great Video. Mike, which mount do you use to attach the One X with the selfie stick to the windshield?
Great review for this action camera. Ride safely.
thumbs up.. finally a useful video answering the better questions ..I was surprised log mode, with more data bits would yield a poor result even after color grade.. thanks for sharing .. very useful
I don't know, I color grade log & it seems good.
Great video. Shame the footage looks so low res. Feels like we are a few years away from a decent 360 action cam.
Hi Mike, can you provide link for the L shape back pack mount in 2:24 please
Great video! Also great helmet! I have the same one. Riding a RSV4 1100 Factory.
May I know what AGV helmet was that? I liked it!
Excellent balanced video!
Great review,Thanks

Very good video my friend I’m looking into the 360R. Can you please give us a video on this and also how to get the motorcycle mounting options??? Thank you very much
Wow!!! Its omnidirectional gimbal stabilised camera lenses🗺
Great video
Beautiful review sir... God bless
Very helpful, thank you. I've just bought one of these but mainly ride in the UK where it's usually cloudy. Should I just keep it on 5k 30, auto iso or would you recommend another setting? Thanks.
So, do you like the insta360?
@@JohannesDalenMC I love it, just haven't used it much recently.
@@RoadcraftNottingham Thanks for the reply 🙂
Actually I see you get my same issue: horizon tilting (even when driving straight sometimes). It’s the online thing I really hate of this camera
So GoPro mounts fit the Insta365 One R camera's? Great video! Thx
Kerenn👍👍👍👍👍
You look like JOHNNY SINS
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Wondering if you did get the second version of this camera and saw any improvement.
Nice
I color grade in log & it seems good. Maybe I need to compare without. Also there is a waterproof case. I'll have to search for that backpack pole set up.

Heja Sverige!
Better for cammra just to have 360 motion record then editing everything to look ok
can you review an insta GO3 for motorcycle track day - possibly mounted inside helmet?
Great video. What would recommend for audio conbo.
I was wondering why it was moving like that from when I had it in my car. Thanks for the lock down box.
Hey, great vid, what was the editing software
Thanks for the sharing information... this is a very worth camera to record our motoadventure, btw, I just want to make sure again this Insta360 just records for about 30m only?
Excellent video! Do you have affilate link for Insta 360 X2? I want to buy it
Thanks for your videos, I like them and appreciate you sharing. I have one question, when driving with your insta360, do you use the battery or a usb power cable to get power from the bike?
