I used to work at a music club in Winston Salem that Bela Fleck and the FleckTones played more than a couple of times. Bela is a humble, flat out cool individual
@@tomgscott68 Yup, Ziggy’s in Winston no longer exists, they opened “Ziggy’s by the Sea” in Wilmington and now are located in High Point as Ziggy’s. Used to get some pretty good bands back in the day.
@@cackalackcowboy2127 I was talkin’ to this cool cat from SoCal near the pool tables at Ziggy’s back in Winter of ‘93. He was clearly street wise & had a strong from the hood lingo goin on but struck me as a solid dude. I asked him what he thought of the thugs that had just been arrested for nearly beating the truck driver Reginald Denny (me being a truck driver) during the Rodney King riots. Dude says to me; “That dude (primary perpetrator of the beating) was nothing but a no good damn punk but don’t take the riots out on him” Essentially saying Let him face the jury for what he did, not for the riots. I’m like “Right on man, great observation…” An hour later or so later, I ventured into the mosh pit because I fancied myself a pretty tough truck driver/ furniture mover. I’m holding my own & I look up to realize the front man of the band was that SoCal dude I was talking to whom I discovered from someone in the mosh pit was named Ice T. Not my kinda music but I respect all good people regardless of their background or musical taste
Thanks for sharing this friend! Well I was born down in the same place.... Let's Go! ... got a picture of my Daddy "running away" at 3 or 4 years old in Schoolfield ... Danville style!

@@cackalackcowboy2127 Small world!!😂😂
This is such a treat .. my favorite musicians on stage together! 🎉
Same. I've seen Bela down here twice, Australia needs Billy and band to visit
As of February 23rd, 2024 I am a new born, Freeborn Man!
Bela is the bomb!!!
Mickey Raphael on harmonica…He's been with Willie Nelson since the 1970s. He's the best.
I love how Billy has made this his own song
Thanks for sharing!
Wow, so much amazing talent right there!
Yeah, I guess they're ok... ;)
Billy, Bela, Billy-Fleck...what the heck :D
What a show ..
The BEST concert I've ever seen. Even my pop friendly wife who don't do bluegrass was impressed. Like I think her hair caught fire once.
@@shanephillips1730 it is hard not to love Billy! He can win people over quick.
