Scammers pretending to be BT Broadband | Cybercrime

- We recently had a scammers call centre call our business and pretend to be BT Broadband. They explained that we had got issues with our router and that it was open for hackers to use for illegal activities.
Their aim is to actually add software to your computer so that they can download your information and access banking credentials.
Do not let anyone who calls you access your computer.

As soon as I hear an Indian accent on unsolicited call, I automatically think SCAM.
Not all of them are scams, some legitimate companies do use Indian call centres, but recently the scam calls I’ve had which include ‘this is your bank sir’ ‘this is about your Amazon prime membership’ and ‘you have an issue with your phone and need to obtain your pac code’
@@rhysadams The only legitimate Indian call centre that has ever contacted me are the people who work with 3 mobile when it is time for a phone upgrade other than that it's mainly scammers, the call I had this morning was allegedly from BT 0penreach telling me my broadband was too slow, I politely told him I know that and that is why I'm with Virgin, needless to say the scammer hung up.
I got a call a month ago, claiming to be from Spark (Network Company) saying that my wifi is been hacked. I just said I hacked my own wifi and they went mad lol.
Scarily the scammers do tend to have your name, e-mail, telephone number, home address far more than they should have, that's sadly what the internet age has brought us, i'm hoping one they this will end.

I had this call aswell even though I searched BT official phone number. Somehow they have their websites up on the top search lists

I got such an annoying person just today. Lol he was rude and asking me to change my broadband
Interesting: Every time it was faced with a question it should know if legit (but hadn't a clue), "Er, sorry?... Can you repeat?" And those lovely long pregnant silences!
(Deliberate use of "it". These thieving buggers don't qualify for He or She.)
