The Neo Geo, the best console I never played. I have played a lot of compilations on ps2, and I gotta say, they’re all awesome. If I was a NeoGeo collector, I would definitely be all over this. Looks close enough to the AES, and all the hookups, this things great
Being very familiar with these units the caps on the rhs are the original audio caps, not replaced, the cap on LHS is a super cap which replaces the original battery. The 2 black connectors are the leftover mounts for the cartridge slot mv1b which they flipped 90 degrees with their custom PCB. The video quality is "ok" could be better as they still use the same video processing circuits across all of their cbox revisions and have not changed these at all.
Im not sure we have the same type of MVS boards inside, but the one I have also has the AES type shell, just the one I have is black transparent. I used mine with retrovision cable and a scaler, and the games look beautiful. Some of the MVS games are affordable, but those 161 in 1 are going up in price, also most MVS games are going up since many people are buying the consolized system, like now, you dont get an original Puzzle Bubble MVS game for less than $50, some games are not even coming up on ebay that easy (like Fatal Fury 3 and Sengoku 2), but yes, having the Neo Geo Arcade attached to your TV is priceless.
Many declared that the video output in these consoles is not always that great. Just remeber thay theh are built with new shells but ild hardware. Honestly, the biggest issue for me is the lack of a proper multicart sold at an affordable price so, original AES or these MVS "AESified", don't really change much when it comes to enjoying the old good games on OG hardware.
Those 2 Lots that are covered were not used. They were the memory cards slots to transfer scores from games that support it from AES to NVS to update the scores from your home scores. No one used them that probably why they were Covered.
It's an mv1b inside which originally had a horizontal cart insert, I guess that's what those ports are left over from. The earlier cmvs devices tended to use a mv1c which was vertical insert
Yeah, I had a shedule setup in my break period. Now i'm back here WGC .. have a pile of vids ready to go 😎 And preparing for the piles of stuff that is coming for 2024 !
Great video! I was wondering if it has the option to turn on scanlines, it might be me but I tend to like to turn on scanlines. They make the games look better imho, and yes I'm old...
the 8bitdo only won't work with the included dongle, it will work with this mvs in bluetooth mode if you pair it with the 8bitdo bluetooth usb dongle, but you have to update firmware on the dongle and the pad first or they won't sync with each other
Wow this Chinese system looks identical to the original. Were the controllers you showed at the beginning also Chinese? Because they look like the real thing. But the system is not a huge problem it's the game cartridges that are the problem. Even back then they were mightily expensive now most are unbuyable. Anyway good review and cool video Wicked!👉🏼🙂👈
Can someone explain this console to me in simple terms so It's a console version of what arcade games would have looked like in 90s arcades but this is the cheaper option to own one?
very import question: I ordered exactly that console, but with UK plug. it is fine to just use an EU adapter? Or do I need more? An answer would be warmly appreciated!

I rented a Neo-Geo Console for research in Junior High. This is a game changer for old guy Arcade Quarter Warriors. Glad I still have a sick CRT.
Great video. I have been looking into consolized MVS systems so this was a good video to watch.

That's an awesome addition to a neo geo collection. I sure miss the Neo Geo pocket color. An underrated gem in handhelds in my opinion 😅.
I bought the same! works like a charm!
I'm also surprised how awesome it works 💖
I just bought 1. Now the wait for delivery.

Hey Wicked. I have this exact model. It's a blast. I also bought a Multicart, which loads instantly. Great stuff.
Where do u get version 3 from? I can't find that on AliExpress...I think most are version 2
Wicked Neo Geo time
The connectors you saw in the end of the video are for the 2 slot designed boards.

SICK!
PRESS START and POWER ON THE NEOGEO WITH 161 IN 1 ... to access Pick'N Mix !!! awesome !!
You should review the Atari game consoles, from 2600 to Jaguar.
Jaguar .. i still need to review that.
I have one in box only duo of time I can't get to it 😅
You’re back you’ve been more on the Package channel as of late
Yeah, I had a shedule setup in my break period.

Very interesting!
You need to update the 8-bit control firmware to work in the neogeo.
Pretty cool video! May I ask what was the TV/monitor that you used for the review?
Oh man
Die console is toch heel sexy
The future is now
Interestin solution, sad that not all usb devices work
I have the 8bitdo controller and it is decent. I use it 2.4gz playing Neo Geo on Batocera.
Is that a new CRT bro? Do a video on that.

With that bios u ahould be able to switch to AES mode
These look like a old VHS tape for a vcr

I heard the 161 combo card has problems. It will lead to crash sometimes.
So far only had this on my AES when using an old / original PSU.
is this some emulated device or is there a real MVS arcadeboard inside the case?
It's real arcade hardware with a few attachments to consolize it
@@GamerSi i didnt know with it being ali express, could be a raspberry pi in there for all i know with a cartridge slot
I recently bought a CiB neogeo from taiwan for 600 dollars

Swell
no memory card slot, deal breaker imo
I don't believe the original Neo Geo had memory cards either
Cool goodies??😮
