I'm here because of MD, Chris and Gar, and I don't know the first thing of jazz.
That said, this was surprising. Reminds more of Cowboy Bebop than Rattlehead. These guys were very versatile musicians.
I can definitely hear some good morning Black Friday on a lot of this !!! Absolutely amazing no wonder Dave wanted them in the band wow ! I’m sure access to dope didn’t hurt either lol
yeahman, i can hear KIMB in this too, its so awesome
Very Mahavishnu Orchestra for sure. Some seriously talented musicians Chris and Gar were. I think it's kinda cool how Chris Incorporated the keyboard wheel effect into his guitar playing.
Amazing, this music reminds me of Frank Zappa and his musical approach. Chris Poland plays fantastically. What a great guitarist. Yes, Dave Mustaine gained unprecedented talents for his band Megadeth.
more!!! we need more of this! this is insanely good, got my ears drooling...and I can't believe that they were in their twenties when this was recorded. crazy
wow. These guys helped put Meg on another level.
Tremendo!!!!!
On par with the greatest musicians
Wow jazz rock fusion master.
Can anyone name any current drummers that can play like this!? With this much intensity? Wow
Hey thanks for putting this up. Right up there with UK and Ian Gillan Band.
Oh I love Allan Holdsworth U. K.
So epic, thank you, thank you for uploading this! Chris and Pag, amazing. R.I.P Gar, truly a master and a pioneer.
14:55 is that Bad Omen im hearing??!!
That part reminds me of Looking Down The Cross
def a similar drum part that gar carried into megadeth
Yes, that's definitely an embryonic version of Bad Omen 😎
Man this is insane!
I was 16 or 17 when killing is my business came out...I am a average guitar player and a pure metal head... But I could hear the jazz influence and musicianship immediately...I guess listening to weather report and al dimeola helped my mental ear😂😂😂
AL DIMEOLA rules
@@leonshreds actually met him and Chick corea in San Diego when I was 17... was a huge fan
@@None888. fuck yeah
Holy fuckballs of accident finding! Pure madness lads excellent. I love Megadeth to a certain point but it's introduced me to these well rounded conspiritors of music. Hoots Mon!
Damn man, gar and chris are so fucking good in megadeth, as a KIMB and peace sells fan, a huge one, hearing this is just so awesome, gar is just insane
Same bro
Wow! You can really hear how their fusion jazz experience influenced the music Megadeth would make and continue to make even after they left the band. Thanks for posting this old school, classic video of Chris and Gar.
Thank you for sharing this! It’s awesome to hear more music from you guys! Metal, jazz, whatever!!! It’s good to hear!
Just found this gem today. Poland was always my favourite Megadeth lead; after hearing this it's a guarantee! Gar was insane also. Thanks for the upload!
This is golden 😱
this is fucking beautiful
Aw, this is just fantastic. Never thought I would get to hear it.
WOW! So happy I found this!
Gar, Chris and I were listening to Jeff Beck while Dave Mustaine was listening to Motor Head and Budgie.
you hunf out with them?
Amazingly good! That riff @2:40 is superbly executed.
This is Gold ! Rip Gar
This is amazing! I would never have guessed this is from 1980. Brilliant rock fusion IMO
13:00 this melodic interlude is really amazing. This band kicks ass
Reminds me of what John Zorn would do later in his career. Incredible music!
I love Megadeth but could Dave not have waited a bit longer with these two?
Apparently Chris and Gar would pawn off their music equipment for drug money and would get really messed up on heroin and not show up to play. Dave had no choice but to get rid of them. Sucks that drugs can ruin a musicians life...
@@ChristianVBlue3 It didn't exactly ruin their lives. Chris Poland still plays to this day in some solid projects
Michael Graham He does, but drugs ruined his chance to play on more megadeth albums and gain more recognition. Not to mention Gar’s early death
@@ChristianVBlue3 Dave asked Chris to come back for rust album. His therapist said that he would get back to his drugs again,if he goes back. So... didn't take the offer.
It is good to mention that Chris Poland recorded the solo guitar of The System Has Failed in 2004.
I had no idea any recordings of them existed!
I saw them at The Troubadour in LA! I believe it was their first ever gig.
Went there to see another fusion band, Aroura Borealis, who were no slouches. After they played, The Troub pretty much cleared out. There were about 10 people left, if that many. And we were all left with are jaws on the ground.
I've seen OHM many, many times at the Baked Potato.
i had the pleasuer of seeing OHM for the first time a few months ago, it was amazing, also got to see kings of thrash 4 times now with chris poland, fucking killer!
Thank you for sharing this music.
Chris poland scale is amazing! I learn puneat Buddha song scale... Chris poland is genius
Heavy shit!
