    I climbed Mount Baker 40 years ago by the same route as shown in this video. At camp the evening before summiting there was spectacular Alpenglow. The most beautiful light I have ever seen in my life. Thank you for this video; it brings back wonderful memories.

    In 1990 I, son Georg 10 years and son Mark 12 years. We slept in the camp and without a rope climbed to the top. At the same age, boys climbed the Black Task in BC with me. (not easy)

    Looks so easy, but something tells me its harder than it looks lol. Must be the camera making it look smaller than it is at certain parts.

      People do it… but I wouldn’t let recommend it with the crevasses. That being said the best time to do it would be in the spring

    I’m in NorCal what do you recommend for a novice. Me and my wife want to climb Shasta. Would you recommend it?

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  4 года назад +1

      Yes I would recommend Shasta! there are two routes that I would recommend, either the Avalanche gulch route ( ruclips.net/video/w3GKFPFi34Q/видео.html ) or the clear creek route (a little tamer than the gulch). however do take into account that there are many people injured on both of these routes due too ice/rock fall. if you have any questions feel free to email me nwadventures2200@gmail.com if you want more info or suggestions on training, routes , packing or anything really feel free to get in contact with me. Hope this helps good luck out there!

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  3 года назад +2

      It would be highly recommend as you will be crossing glaciers, crevasses and very steep glacial terrain

    Good job man!!! We are planning on going in 2 weeks, do you recommend staying over night on the mountain or one day is enough?

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  4 года назад +2

      I personally would recommend doing it in 2 days as it is still considered early season and there will be more snow on the approach, the road to the trail head probably still has to be walked, adding more time and effort. Have fun up there!!

    Great video! How did you like that course with AAI? I am thinking about doing either the 3 day Summit course or the 6 day Alpinism 1.

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  6 лет назад +2

      The course great i learned a lot!! however our party was very small and experienced so we did some training that is not typically covered in the 3 day summit course. if you are somewhat experienced and want to learn more skills i would recommend the 6 day Alpinism 1.
      Hope This Helped!

    Any recommended gear for this, planning to do it next summer

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  4 года назад +2

      I try to do most of my climbs in the early season. So I recommend a pretty warm sleeping bag along with a pair of stiff mountaineering boots for the Roman Wall

    • @harrisonemery9928
      @harrisonemery9928 4 года назад +1

      NW Adventures ok awesome. And what would you say the difficulty rating is?

    • @NWAdventures
      @NWAdventures  4 года назад +2

      Physical difficulty I would put it at a medium rating due to steep inclines and the long approach. And I would be sure that you are very proficient with crevasse rescue and and self arresting. as you will spend a large amount of time on glaciers and you will be on a pretty steep slope for the Roman wall, which depending on the time of year could be very slick with ice or packed snow. Good luck out there!
