No you are not. Before I started watching them; my attitude towards running was something to do if someone larger was chasing me. Now I have taken up trail running
At 71 years old, I can never do the things they do. But saying that , they are still one of my primary inspirations to get outside , hike , work out etc and have fun and make the best of the adventures that I can do !!
Great video, as always. I really appreciate the extra details you include. The pre-morning hotel, mcd being closed, trailhead prep, skin track skiing, etc. That stuff is rarely shown on other ski videos - they just focus on the summit and beautiful downhill turns. I watch for all the little non-beautiful turn parts. Keep up the good work - and keep filming the non-sexy parts of your adventures.
Honestly..places like Mt. Baker just make me so happy to live here in Washington. I live in Seattle and from our unit, we can step out onto the patio and see the Olympic Mountains and Cascades. We get the clearest view of Mt. Rainier daily and to me? Its perfection. I love this state.
I grew up just north of Bellingham and I had an amazing view of the sun rising over Baker every morning. It makes me grateful to have grown up in such a beautiful area
Climbed Baker via Roman Wall in 1972 and spent the night on the summit in order to see the sunrise on the summer solstice. We woke up before sunrise and sat there peering east to see the first rays come over the horizon. Finally figured out that we were looking toward the northwest and the sun was already over the horizon. The bottle of excellent scotch we had carried to the summit probably was the cause of our disorientation. Never the less - felt good about the climb and being 25-years old and "tough" we were proudly starting down the wall when two "OLD GUYS" (maybe 50?) came over the top headed up and carrying skis. They had driven down from Vancouver BC that morning, hiked to the summit and then were going to ski back down. No big deal - they had lost count of how many times they had done that. love your channel - lived and climbed everything, year round, with B'ham as our base 1970 - 1980.
😍😍 so beautiful, can't believe this mountain is in my backyard, did a hike earlier in the year, a ridge walk just under baker. Such a gorgeous mountain ❤
Classic, "...we get to that summit and it's windless and sunny, is that too much to ask for?" Happy Birthday Danny! I'm glad for once your "...is that too much to ask?" got answered to your satisfaction :-)
I get so darn excited when I see they’ve released a new video! This is probably my favorite channel right now. The Virtual Sherpa is pretty awesome too for mountaineering and hiking.
Since Europe is back in a full lockdown, i ran out of outdoor-things to watch two weeks ago. Then i found you guys and pretty much watched every video there is. Fantastic stuff, thanks for keeping my summit-hunger well fed!
Hey Danny my cousin really likes your. Adventures . He’s doing the Haute this This summer . I enjoy your RUclipss a lot watching you and your buds having fun . Keep it safe
What a great adventure. Awesome weather, view, conditions, and no crevasse rescue. I live in Edmonds, WA and see Mt. Baker every day. I appreciate your vantage point from the top.
Christof you are my spirit animal. I too have friends that are willing to sacrifice me to the unknown, claiming they could rescue me. Fun to watch another awesome video. Happy belated Birthday Danny. Can you gift everyone who comments a sweet Mediocre sticker? 🙏
Nice. Back in my neck of the woods again! I ran into you guys at Rainier years back but was hoping to again. Love when I see a new video. Keep up the great work. Incredible filming all around!
We’re skiers and climbers based in Cordova Bay, BC. Grateful to live in the Saanich territory. We see the sunrise over Shukshan every morning. I’ve summited Baker. Great video … You had me at “Sha-shu-gee”. It happens.
Your handle is understated, your abilities are understated, your accomplishments are understated and your future plans are underrated... perhaps that's your point. Well done again
Very Nice Chaps! As usual you are off at a great pace and full of vinegar through out the tour. I would like to suggest a few key points if you don't mind regarding your roped efforts across the glacier. ??....It is a VERY GOOD idea to have simple knots tied at regular intervals between skiers in the rope. This can save a long fall from occurring should one happen, as the knots will tend to cut into the snow;... like a cable saw, as the rope cuts in it will make a narrow groove and thus when the knot comes to the groove it will jam and thus save the fall from being longer. Like wise should the second or third skier be inattentive or slip or for what ever reason momentarily unprepared for such an event, this will greatly assist is reducing the possible severity to the poor victim. Also the manner in which you are carrying your spare rope per skier, is hard to see;.. but it doesn't look conducive to making an easy or quick recovery possible, as the rope between you and the victim will be taught and rope you have tied into yourself looks from the camera angles to be only attached with a Munter or similar hitch...giving you no slack to maneuver into a rescue configuration ....if this is the case you may have luck and with sheer brute strength...which you all seem to have at least to some degree in reserve, you may be able to secure and arrest the fall with some difficulty and sweat, and then possibly, without permitting the victim to slip any further down toward the dark abyss, set up your extraction configuration....but it will be tough, thus much easier to start with having enough rope per skier in reserve!.. coiled and tided off correctly before strolling along to the summit. Look into the KIWI hitch for this correct and extremely useful configuration. It makes crevasse extraction WAY easier!! If you let me know a private email I would love to send you a few photos of some very special mountains that you would love to explore in the Andes!? I'm sure you will go absolutely nuts-O when you see them.... Great film as always!! and great to vicariously join in on the trip.
I am constantly amazed that these guys continually produce content that looks and feels amazing all the while making the arduous climbs look effortless. Inspiring stuff.
What a spectacular hike. I particularly enjoyed viewing the canyon springs. Elise, you are definitely a trooper and falling in the river is very normal. Thankfully, Adam led the way as the "Adam Yard Stick." When you hike the "Subway," be prepared for some easy repelling and swimming. You might also want to consider buying a water-proof day pack and and pouch for your camera stabilizing stick. Thanks for sharing the video. I always look forward to viewing them and can't wait to see the next one. PS. Elise, I hope you've thawed out.
I used to help teach a climbing class and Baker was one our frequent choices. The crevasses in the spring are impressive and can be dangerous. If you've never tried to get a fallen climber out of whole like a crevasse I suggest you go out and actually try it. 3 very experienced climbers trying to get 1 person out with 2 people above would be a real challenge. I love what you do. I old and envious and impressed by all of you. Duane Siefertson
Yeeeeeeaaah booyyyyyy -shawn of the dead Keep the music, its good. More rivers and scenic views, lush forests, greenery, puking, humor, narrations, and maybe even more in depth history on these places. 👍
Best adventure team on the RUclips, every video release is a holiday! How you don't have many more subs is a mystery to me 🤷♂️ But what a day, pure perfection! 😍 Another epic video guys!
I always feel better when I know that The Big C (Christof) is there to make sure Danny get's home safe and sound so he can get to his favorite activity....Christmas shopping for his mother-in-law (something from the Dollar Tree would be just fine.)
Happy belated birthday, Danny! I thought I could see you 3 from my house in Van!!! Wasn’t sure until the coolest video was released. 🤪 Good job to all of you. Keep up the good fun.
OMG! Mt Baker! we see this awesome always-snow-covered peak all the time from our hikes at home on the Southern Gulf Islands. First started watching you after seeing your Buckskin Gulch video. Been there, done that...just not with an epic bike ride at the end(!). So cool to see you in our "neck of the woods". Have hiked Utah for 10 plus years. Missing it this year. Be safe, be kind, be calm...eh.
I was up on Mt. Ellinor in the Olympics while you guys were doing this looking over at Baker, what a great day! I'm signed up for a guided climb/class on Baker in the spring, can't wait to summit!
Cool. I love Mt Baker. I have Summited by skis 21 times my brother is at 23 Ski Summits via different ski routes . If the boarders ever open up we hope to hit 25 ski Summits. Saying Hi from British Columbia. Love the view from Lions Gate bridge in Vancouver of Mt Baker.
Someone said this before and it's still true, most underrated RUclips channel.
Shhhhhhh.. Just outstanding.
My favorite part of the video was Christof's 3 mediocre tips that consisted of 4 tips. Now that's some prime Amateur content right there!! ☺️
Ha! I'm glad someone caught that:)
I think they/he should keep this going as a new segment in the films.
No kidding. Christof is awesome. 😂
The holy trinity
People around here do not always do Baker on skis in a day, but when they do - we don't call them Mediocre :)
You can tell it is a fun and leisurely day when no one pukes.
🤣
Am I the only one extremely inspired by these guys? I have goals and aspirations to do pretty much everything they do! (Maybe just a tad bit slower)
Dude same. Hella inspiring.
No you are not. Before I started watching them; my attitude towards running was something to do if someone larger was chasing me. Now I have taken up trail running
You're not alone!
At 71 years old, I can never do the things they do. But saying that , they are still one of my primary inspirations to get outside , hike , work out etc and have fun and make the best of the adventures that I can do !!
I found them after I got ankle surgery hahhahaha
Great video, as always.

100 percent agree. My favorite parts of the vids lol
"If you're going to do something that you are never going to do again, make sure it's on the right day."
"Just had to pop-tart it." Iconic.
😂
I need a friend like this, solo hiking is fun but lonely 😕
story of my life
What state are you in?
NEVER SOLO HIKE I HAVE A FRIEND WHO DIED FROM THAT😪
@@JoshHway that sounds not right
If you're in WA I'll be your hiking buddy!

You guys should definitely check out the enchantments in the middle cascades near Leavenworth Washington.
Definitely would like to see the MA crew run the Enchantment hike thru. Plus it can't be more crowded then the trailhead at Mt. Rainier right?
One of the best channels on youtube! Can't click fast enough on the notification.
A year later, I say this again, the most underrated youtube channel!

Sage wisdom from Christof right here
Great to see you guys back in my home state! WA is beautiful and has it all from ski to sea.

The mountain in my backyard! I love it when these guys come up to WA!
Man, the blue of those glaciers looks so pretty on the mountain.
Excellent video of my old stomping grounds. (Mount Vernon) Loved Mt Baker and miss the mountains living in Sydney. Cheers.
Oh my god! Unbelievable I'm so jealous. It is my daily dream. Every day I'm watching it's west face from my balcony. Gorgeous... thank you.
You folks offer the full package. Great story, videography and editing, great ski talent and not too much distracting music. Thanks!
