I've just heard this show today, and l liked it a lot. One thing that caught my attention was that you, guys, Said that the Sheik was blackballed by the National Wrestling Alliance in 1982. I don't 🤔 that being blackballed by the NWA in 1982 was the same as being blackballed in 1965 because the NWA had much more power back in the 1960's and 70's than in the 1980's when promoters started to split from NWA. I 🤔 that the Sheik's down fall eventually was his resistance to change and adapt to and with the times.
The book is incredible. One of the best interviews, since Jim Cornette is the very best when it comes to pro wrestling history. Great stuff. Kudos to Brian Solomon on his great achievement.

What would he say today, as we're doing and entire episode on who Ed Farhat really was? 😆 I thought Brian (Last) made a great point in that Sheik almost reflected Detroit, not only as violent, mysterious and dirty, but also his downfall as well. When you think about the apex of Detroit & the auto industry mecca, it really marries well with Sheiky's lavish lifestyle when things were on fire. Then the lowest lows & decline of the city. Crime, corruption and the downfall of the car business partners very well with Sheik's demise of horrible payoffs, too much violence and stale booking.
