    One place that does have any concern for the Atlantic hurricane season is Tampa Florida. Because it’s not only a tourist spot and has two universities, But it produces more thunderstorms than anywhere else in the United States. The word Tampa is a Calusa Native American word meaning lightning. If a major hurricane strikes St. Petersburg Tampa damage could definitely be in excess of over $100 billion dollars. The city of Tampa has been very lucky although they’ve been close calls.

      A cat 3 would be way more than 100 billion a cat 3 but it has to be a direct hit on Dunedin

      I couldn't have said it better myself, well said. Tampa is a ticking time bomb. My whole meteorology life, I have been thinking Tampa is well overdue. Thank you for that on the word Tampa, I never knew what it actually meant. They sure do get a lot of thunderstorms, and they live up to their name. I shutter to think what would happen if a major hurricane veered right into St Petersburg Tampa. The results would be catastrophic beyond belief. The amount of building that has taken place over the last 2 decades in Tampa is astounding. Since they haven't been hit, people continue to build in areas that would likely be totally destroyed under a Cat 4 or 5.

    On May 2 in Mercer County, NJ I got into my car after work. My dash said it was 99 degrees. Of course I know it was only 99 in the car. But these are July/August temps. I think this is definately showing how crazy this summer is going to be.

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад +1

      That is some crazy heat for this early in the season for sure. I think you are right, this is going to be some intense heat of summer. Likely going to be our hottest summer on record. I have never seen everything start growing so fast, leaves on the trees already. July & August are definitely going to be scorchers.

    When do you see mid and upper 80s coming to Erie Pennsylvania during the day for temperatures and do you ever see 60s or 70s at night this year in Erie Pennsylvania

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад +1

      I am thinking there will likely be mid to upper 80s in Erie Pennsylvania by around June 28-Jul1 timeframe with lows in the upper 60s/lower 70s.

    What kind of temperatures do you see next week and beyond during the day in Erie Pennsylvania

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question, it appears a major cool down is coming with mid 50s the rest of this week in Erie Pennsylvania, and not likely climbing to the low to mid 60s until the middle of next week (May 15-16). An unseasonably cool airmass with a trough will likely keeps temperatures below average the rest of the month with temperatures finally making it to the upper 60s to near 70 by May 24. Still a few more cool shots through Memorial Day weekend though as temps will pullback at times into the mid 60s for highs.

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question, I see a lot of mid to upper 70s for highs throughout June for Erie Pennsylvania, with lows around 58-61 at night, Very little temperature changes and not much chance for any cool waves in June for Erie Pennsylvania.

    Do you see any 80s in early or mid June at all this year in Erie Pennsylvania

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад +1

      The way the pattern is setting up going into June, I think there may be a day where it gets above 80 in Erie Pennsylvania the first half, however I think most days will be in the 70 to 75 degree range in early to mid June before warming quickly into the upper 70s and lower 80s toward the last week of June.

    Will I see another warm up here currtiuck nc I’m ready for more 80s here currtiuck nc

    • @Meteomark
      @Meteomark  4 месяца назад

      Great question, for temperatures in Currtiuck, you will likely warm very quickly over the next week or two, as a very warm high pressure systems builds lots of 80s into your area. Expect a fast warming trend through the mid to late part of this week.
