Why this year is the american model more accurate.. in general
And cvs2 mean can't forecast shit like cansnips very unreliable and no accuracy. Don't depend on em. Euro ai euro and GFS maybe better for longer range weather. First two models too dry bias

Could new Orleans get this storm
New Orleans could get this storm or impacts, especially if the front is slower to the north and does not make it into the Northern Gulf. That would allow the Bermuda high to push the storm further west toward New Orleans. If however the Euro is correct, the front will push through New Orleans, keeping New Orleans safer, and push the storm more toward the Florida coastline. Watching this closely and I will keep you posted. My current thinking is more in line with the Euro/GFS blend, in keeping the storm further east of New Orleans. But definitely New Orleans needs to watch this storm as it can definitely trend more westward, once the storm initiates mid to late week.

This tropical situation that we’re monitoring could be another copycat storm. Although, Helene has caused catastrophic damage historic flooding, and millions of customers including thousands of schools without power. And most of the rural counties got the brunt of it that Western North Carolina Eastern Tennessee became like island prisons because no one can’t go out. There’s one more system that were monitoring on the opening Atlantic tropical depression number 12 likely to become kirk does suggest a recurve back on the Atlantic, but it’s way too early to tell what the impacts will be closer to home. The only interest should be concerned at this time is the ship and maritime industry. But the one that’s currently currently in the gulf will likely get the name Leslie if it forms. But I gotta tell you Helene was probably a once in a generation storm and I think it’s likely going to be retired. Come March to 2025 when they list the new names for the 2030 Atlantic hurricane season.
Helene is one of those historic and unforgettable storms. Definitely not letting our guard down, and hopefully the worst is behind us, hoping for the best. I can't imaging how long it will take these areas hardest hit to recover.

What does MDR stand for?
Great question, MDR stands for the Main Development region of the Atlantic that runs between the Cape Verde Islands and the Lesser Antilles in the Eastern Caribbean. It is the main development area for tropical wave action to develop into tropical storm and hurricanes.
Do you say Caribbean as in "Pirates Of The" or as in amphibian?

What is the possibility of Houston getting hit?
I think it could be a Texas storms hurricane 🌀...
We have to watch for that possibility as the western energy could form a potential tropical system toward Texas, or even push the main tropical system toward Texas if the trough remains further north. I will keep you posted.
