I grew up in a highly intelligent household and my Mom did exactly the same thing, she would talk to us as adults or as I like to say equal to equal. And looking back that was such a wise decision. She would also explain and describe things in great detail, tell stories of the past and basically we talked all the time and discussed basically any subject! When I was very young, she told me bedtime stories and fairy tales that her Dad used to tell her. I absolutely love my Mom, she is the greatest person I have ever met in this world
We kept the dictionary and encyclopedias in the dining room, and no books were allowed at meals except those. Every meal was a free-for-all of duelling facts.... ☺ A good question could be entertainment for days at a time.
Sandi Toksvig is one of those people who just makes you feel better about your species. Like yes, people frequently suck, but don't forget: Sandi Toksvig. There is hope for us.
I have read her book it is amazing. I love her humour it is the same as mine. I would love to have a meal with Sandi Miriam margolyes Miranda Hart Russel Howard Judi dench Graham Norton Julie Walters Emma Thompson Jeff Dunham and Terry fator. With Angela, Gordon Ramsey heston bloometal and nigela Lawson cooking.
I feel the same way! The guests are always so engaging, and the conversations are fascinating. It would be great if the episodes were longer so we could dive even deeper!
Sandi Toksvig is the one person I wish I could meet. She’s so inquisitive and funny and just a friendly font of of information, anecdotes , wit and humor. Also a person of integrity which is so rare these days. .
Before this, I didn't care for Sandi but she's incredibly kind and very sweet. I'm ashamed to say she's the total opposite of my imagination. I now love her ❤
I’m Brazilian and next year I’m spending a month in England on vacation my dream would be to be on the QI audience, how can one get the chance to experience that? ❤
I LOOOVEE Sandy. Almost hurt myself clicking on the link. 30 minutes just isn't enough. The world is a better place with her in it. Hoping my local library has her book.
Sandi Toksvig is always a delight to watch or listen to. Such an interesting, dynamic, inspirational person! And to have her on this wonderful podcast... fabulous! ❤
Aww, that's a really sweet image! 🥰 I used to have one of those "aunties". She used to live in our street and I went to nursery with her daughter back in the day, but the connection to her mother was much closer. She sadly died a horrible death a couple of years back. I think fondly of her every time I pass her house, which recently got converted quite drastically.
Sorry, this is the first time I’ve seen a full episode & can I just say that this is the warmest podcast I’ve ever seen/heard. I’m lying in bed with the air-cond on blast & I feel the warmth 😂. I love that you interview someone over a meal & a home cooked one too! Edit: I’m a huge fan of QI too. Love Sandi for a long time. Really inspiring person.
Having Sandi around for dinner is genuinely on the list of things I'd like to happen in my life - cake and natter. We're laughing loudly at this utter delight. The other Bake Off as its just so nice.
Only just come across this channel. Came for Sandi and stayed for the show now. Sandi has the most perfect comedy timing, it's unreal. Such a genuine woman and can feel that come across.
It's so fun watching a great episode and seeing the viewcount rise, so you know you're sharing the experience with strangers who enjoy it as much as you!
Sandi's book Hitler's Canary is what got me into reading as a kid. I can't describe just how good of a time my entire class had reading the book with our fantastic English teacher.
I can't decide what I like more, the title or the idea of Hitler actually having a canary and lovingly talking to it and feeding it some grain before gently laying a nice silk cover over his cage as he's walking out to a balcony and shouting angrily in German for three and a half hours.
This is my FAV entertainment across any and all channels. You two and your guests are a real joy and I get so much out of it being in America. I'm eating new things and watching Line of Duty. LOL Cheers!
I all but lunged across the room to my laptop when tickets for Sandi's live QI session was released. So excited to see her in November and what a stellar podcast video this was as well!
I don't watch neither The British Bake Off nor QI (as I am not from the UK) and I've only seen some clips of each, so this was the first time I've properly listened to Sandi. I have to say, she's wonderful! Very sharp and well spoken. It was an absolute pleasure to watch this episode.
I went to a corporate do many years ago with my GF at the time and Sandi was compere and speaker. The girlfriend didn't last but the memory of that evening certainly did! What a person and what a life!!
I have never heard of this podcast, but love Sandi. I am sure that is why this popped up on my YT homepage. Loved this show. I am now a subscriber! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@@alexanderhendry5819 yeah I love Dish! It’s defo the algorithm but I just found it funny because it was literally posted 3 mins ago so when I refreshed yt I was shocked hahaha
Please, please, pleeeease put a proper subtitles option on these instead of the auto-generated closed captions 🙏 Absolutely love the podcast but I struggle a bit with longer form videos if I can't get proper accurate subtitles 😕 Agree with others, however, one of the best shows out there! 😊
I have a healthy obsession with this woman. She is so bright and lovely, so warm and yet sassy. I would highly recommend ‘Between the Stops’ on Audible with Sandi, she is incredible. Her voice is so soothing!
Came for Sandi but this seems like a good show with interesting people as hosts and guests. I'm subscribing for more of this stuff! I'm not from the UK but I watch so much British television that I know all the celebrities that make the rounds on panel shows and comedy gigs.
I love Sandi & would like to meet her one day. Very honest and people person. Saying thank you to Angela with just a gesture is my kind of way; my upbringing. To treat people with kindness, no ill judgement as no one is unable to step into anyones shoes and their experiences that shaped them. So giving benefit of a doubt is what I suggest to everyone. I'd wager it's more the fact that women are biologically set to last longer, her lighter dinner made her sleep easier and rest longer without blood sugar dips and she likely kept a if you can't do anything about it then don't worry attitude.
I've loved Sandi since Saturday morning watching No73. She introduced us to Fraggle Rock & my favourite Roger Roger Ramgit. She looks beautiful in this podcast. My gran always had carnation milk she used to give us😊
Well who knew, I have inadvertently been making eggcake for decades. I call it oven omelette and always been great to use up left overs or just fresh. Love a bit of spinach in one.❤
Sandi taking Angela's hand in appreciation as she serves the food warmed my heart. lovely gesture :)
I've rewatched that moment several times. I was so stuck by that. Joyous!
Yes! ❤
I thought the same . Sandi is so kind and genuine ❤. It was such a small gesture , but it is really a huge gesture in today’s world.
I noticed that too …..very warm hearted person 😊
I have never clicked this fast on a podcast. Love Sandi
Me too! I saw the short and clicked here IMMEDIATELY

That's not Intelligence that's called having respect.
@@Jackielong-sighted7890 I meant intelligent because both of my parents were highly intelligent and raised as in a wise way, in my opinion.

I love the little hand squeeze to Angela as she served her. Truly the perfect guest (oh and somebody else noticed that, too)
She officiated at the wedding of Bjorn (or maybe Benny) from ABBA as she wrote the ABBA dinner/play!
She’s an absolute gem! Been in QI audience twice and can confirm she is utterly fabulous, funny and captivating! ❤❤❤
