I never went bass fishing before, but I've been subbed to your channel for a while. I bought myself a cheap little baitcaster and went out to a pond this morning and caught my first ever large mouth (17"!) using a Texas rig after learning how by watching your channel. So I just wanted to say thanks and I love your channel!

I finally realized why I love these videos so much- you get as excited as the 99.9% of all of us out there to get a fish, and flat-out stoked when you find something as big as a three pounder. You can only watch so many dudes with their $50k boats, landing monsters before you lose sight of what made us love pounding the banks as kids. That tick-tick-tick on the end of the line is all that matters.

@strange ghost I was having the same issue with stick baits- killing them whacky rigged, but needed something weedless. Finally hit on using baby bass colors (green on top, white on the bottom, with black flakes- Yum are cheap and have a good one). Bring a Sharpie and color the tails black. You will be shocked at how realistic they look, and the difference in catches is night and day.

Not many video you see actually show technique and how to properly setup one of these rigs. I mean you did it a way that even I was able to follow along. I got stubborn bass in our private lodge lake that won't take anything. But perhaps with this method I should be able to target the more easier. I got lots of plastic worms and hope to get some nice video of getting some bass.. Can't wait to get on the water.. Thank you sir for such a helpful teaching video.

Thank you for finally putting to rest the argument that one color is better than another. I think that dark vs light is useful based on murky/clear conditions but no more change ups just for color. Maybe for variety, you know, the spice of a bass's life. Thanks for a great show. It’s refreshing to watch a RUclips video in which the term “Texas rig” is properly used to include the bullet weight. Too many anglers (and RUclipsrs) incorrectly refer to the Texas rig when describing a weedless or weightless rig without the bullet weight.

hey man, this was probably the best how-to video or texas rigging plastic worms. I have honed in my crankbait game, but fishing from the bank at the lake every weekend, I've lost more than I can remember to snags. I know it's not that difficult but, I've watched other channels all summer thinking I just needed this type of worm, or this brand of creature only to fail miserably every time I tried them. I feel more confident about the baiting of the hook in 15 min than the last 4 months of watching other videos combined. honestly. And I agree with the others, your excitement is great and your voice is very calming. I can't wait to try out what I've learned today. Thanks for your help!

I grew up fresh water fishing and Largmouth bass are always fun to catch. I honestly have used the Texas rig as my rig of choice as long as I have fished and will probably only ever use that rig. The Texas rig is probably the easiest and most effective rig in my eyes for all levels of fisherman. Like you were describing in the video the Texas rig is unique because of its ability to let you fish areas that with most lures you would not be able too, and if you love bass fishing than you know the more coverage for the bass to hide and keep shade than the bigger the fish. I love to fish spinners (strike king is probably the only brand in spinners i use)but those areas were you can get snagged you will loose a fortune in tackle, making the Texas rig the ideal approach. I have caught 10 to 12 pound Largmouth on a Texas rig in the middle of thick Lilly pads. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming man FISH ON!!!

Hey Alex, I think people really liked this video. 🤗Been reading the comments.
Liked the suggestion, someone made, about showing the right way to tie onto the hook whether you're using an EWG or a straight shanked hook. Terrible to hang into a bass and have your knot come untied. 🎣🐋 I've been using the old standard to tie mono on for years. Had an old fisherman teach me to put a drop of super glue on my knots. I don't do that anymore because I have confidence in my knots. However, it can be a lifesaver for a beginner. PS The super glue also makes for a smoother knot. Easier to thread the worm back on the hook when a fish slides your worm onto your line.

I’ve watched some real good videos as of late. I’m a novice fishermen. Just now starting to get into bass fishing. Out of the videos I’ve seen this is by far the best one. Haven’t felt a need to leave a comment like I felt on your video! Excellent info and video!

The Texas rig has been the most popular rig for fisherman probably forever. I don't use it as much as I should. I use the wacky rig mostly because I get most of my strikes on the fall after I cast it. That's a real nice looking lake tons of cover for Bass. Great video my friend!

Hey Alex this Texas rig 101 video is a sweet idea man. Would you be able to turn it into a playlist with other videos to help a lot of us out who would like to know more about fishing different rigs and lures? I’m still learning, not a pro or veteran by any means- just keeping it real.

Most of my videos are geared toward beginners but I will try to remember to make a playlist. 👍
