An awesome presentation. Thanks for taking the time to put it together. I will borrow a couple of your ideas, mainly the angled aluminum ledge protectors and the webbing strap door pulls.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. We plan on taking the camper to Mexico (Sea of Cortez) at some point soon. Been too long since I’ve been down there. Stay safe out there. TbT
Excellent use of space !! Im digging it !! Not that Im old lol. But I would have loved to have done a project like this when I was in my 20's. You're doing a great job !! 👍
Thanks! I’ll do a final walkthrough video at some point and try to get all the details in that. I need to show the actual bed platform I build too, but my cushions aren’t done yet so want to wait for that. Thanks for watching and commenting. TbT
Thanks !👍🏻👍🏻I added a vent to that cabinet this week. We won’t be in there or sleep in there with the tank either. Just for transport. I’m going to add a regular camper type roof vent as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. TbT
Ha! knew you couldn't wait for the first of the month for this episode. The interior is more elaborate than I expected, looks great and good design! That is a 5' bed taco right? Guesses on the weight? It should be done (enough) for this weekend. Good work, you saved ton$ considering the cost of factory built new ones. Now onto the next video...lol
Thanks. Yes it’s a 5’ bed. I’d say I’ve added 100lbs maybe so the camper dry weight should be under 700lbs I think. Next episode will be the 12v system, lights, fridge, battery etc. that will be out mid-June. Thanks for watching and commenting. It’s appreciated. TbT
Wow this build is amazing and now I am thinking of doing the same for my F150 short box. Do you have a final dry weight? Thank you for documenting this build.
Thanks. Good luck with your build and thanks for watching and commenting. The camper is right about 750 lbs without the awning, side table (new), and the side mounted 5lb propane tank. We weighed it fully loaded for a trip and we were just under GVRW, so day to day empty and just me in there, it is well under. Lost about 3 mpg as well with it on the truck. Avg 17 mpg now.
I’m super excited watching these videos! Great work. I do have a question about the 5 gallon water tank. Do you have to run a hose inside the camper to fill up? How do you know when it is full since it is hidden away?
Thanks! I use a hose at home and this filter. amzn.to/3rCA1W6 And if we’re on the road and need to fill up and there’s not a hose to use we can use a funnel and 1 or 2.5 gallon jugs from the store. The tank is clear-ish and there’s a cabinet door that opens so you can see how full it is while filling. I chose to have it inside instead of out just for safety and less penetrations in the camper walls. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. TbT.
I'm always waiting for the next video! Great job, man! I definitely plan on using your design in the future. I told my wife I wanted to build this if I ever plan on travel nursing. If I'm out your way, we need to meet up, man. Take care. See ya on the next one.
Thanks man. Good luck with your build…give yourself plenty of time, the devil is in the details and finishing out the “small” stuff has been the biggest and longest of the challenges. Building the box and skeleton of the camper was easy…making it all work and look half way decent was the hardest part. Still working on that lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. TbT
We live in SoCal and even in the mountains (Sierra Nevada) it didn’t get that cold in summer. We have done it with our rooftop tent. The camper is super warm and cool with the 1.5 inches of insulated foam walls all around. We do have a little buddy heater though which we could use to warm up the inside which we used to do with our tent. Thanks for watching and commenting it’s appreciated. TbT
Looking good! Have you had a chance to road test on gravel much? Curious if you’re having any issue with dust intrusion while pop top is in closed position.
Just got back from 2 weeks in Oregon. Camper was awesome - not much dust at all, but we were alone so not following a group of other rigs creating dust. This fall in the desert will be the real test. Thanks for watching and commenting TbT.
I would be very curious to see a cost breakdown up until this point. I’m in the planning stage for my own camper, but I’m unsure how much to budget for construction
I’d say the basics building materials cost me about $2500 then another $1k for specialized parts, and paint etc. Highest cost so far has been the interior cushions that we are having made by a professional. As I mentioned in my last video, almost all of the wood for the interior I salvaged so that saved a few hundred hundred as well.
What a Great Build, Fantastic.
Thanks!
Fun to watch, thanks for sharing!
Thanks, and thanks for watching and commenting. TbT

Awesome build!!!! Anyone ever told you, you sound like Tom Bodett? I keep waiting for you to say youll keep the light on 😅😂
Thanks. Haha no , but that’s pretty funny. I can hear that voice in my head lol. 😂 ✌🏼
Looks good. I would make sure the propane is vented outside😊
Thanks !👍🏻👍🏻I added a vent to that cabinet this week. We won’t be in there or sleep in there with the tank either. Just for transport. I’m going to add a regular camper type roof vent as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. TbT

It looks like so much space for a small truck bed. 😂
Its pretty small, but better than a tent.

What are you gonna use for heat? I have a diesel heater in my motorhome and it’s just been Outstanding🎉🎉 I love it

doing a great job.One small problem. Tight bond 2 is made for wood, it will not glue to plastic. Your wasting an awful amount of glue.
What plastic?

sun roof ?
Haha. Not on this one. Was too worried about leaks. Added a roof vent though. Thanks for watching and commenting. ✌🏻
