I recently saw a quote from Albert that said something like “try not to become a man of success but rather try to become a man of value.”

I have 3 sons. I have been telling them that to achieve the goals that they want to reach, they have to work hard, do the best they can do, and make a great name for themselves. In this way people want to work with them or have them on their team. 👍🏾

Mike Jones that’s awesome ! One thing I wish my family encouraged was that it’s okay to fail , failing is part of the process to success .

I had to learn the hard way that one of the best ways to "make a great name for myself" was to be willing to humble myself and help others(when and where possible) to achieve their goals.
I think could be called "social capital" and comes in handy when I need help doing something I want to get done, but can't do alone.

New to channel. Amazing and much needed content for men. For me cultivating, maturing and living with a healthy Mind, Body & Spirit is critical for maintaining my frame/centeredness as a successful man. When one of the three lapse my relationships at work, wife, family and friends become challenging. The voice of my ego takes over in unawareness making decisions that go against my values. Growing follower of Christ and now the Tao Te Ching (“change your thoughts change your life). Remaining centered, balanced and still allows for an uncluttered mind which in turn supports my objectives, goals and life’s plan God has laid before me. I naturally stand taller, speak less and with purpose, serve and lead without seeking reward. Great movement! Joining now

It also depends on the class of people you try to help, some people just don't want it and take advantage of others kindness and will keep taking until you have nothing left to give. Now don't take me wrong I like your advice and the ideas you present. So with that in mind keep up the good work, and thanks for the advice! Have A Great day

Totally Agree with coming to your boss with a proposal to solve an issue. I was sent to set up a new warehouse in MO from CA. I had to learn several new things on my own. Talk and set up meetings and interviews with new employees and vendors. Ran the show for 3 months.
Came back to CA and noticed I just fell back into line and was asking for permission for everything. Felt like I wasn't adding value.

Iam a man of value. Never been fired or laid off...and I work in the oil drilling industry...extremely volatile, I fix things and make things better for a living ,at work and at my home, always working hard, always helping family, friends and neighbors, I make 150k a year but live like I make 20. Iam handy, sociable, and fun. Iam strong, I compete in powerlifting but in the 183 class so Iam borderline jacked. Woman dont seem to find me valuable though. Your only valuable to women where I live if you have a neck tatoo

if trying to catch a woman's eye you have to stand out. how you dress is important. stand out from everyone else. it doesn't cost a ton of money to look nice. colors matching is important! also a good cologne is very important! go to a Macy's or Dillard's and test out colognes! don't go for cheap! a good cologne is 80 bucks! if your way isn't working.....try this....good luck!

Proposal of a sol'n also frames the discussion as collaborative and in addition to offering value, shows that you see value in the other parties' view - even saying "I've thought about it and can't really see a solution yet, what do you think?" is enough to establish this frame. Great video! I love how these points emphasize that value is a communal property, not an intrinsic property - seeing the up/downside of interacting with you as a 3rd party and valuing how people experience you is the underlying current I see in these points. If they pass that bill, I hope the aisle is bare in every store.

I have been in workplace environments where I exhibited this trait of problem solving, but because of the toxic Machiavelli and work environment the supervisors became resentful. This is because the problems have always been known, and no one has fixed them for a specific reason but I was not aware of.
Or it comes across as the boss looking bad because they didn't fix the problem.
This occurred at a very large famous software company in Redmond Washington

Yeah, I feel like I've had short, similar phases in my job life within certain work cultures. All it ever felt like was hitting my head against a brick wall and making everyone mad around me. A sort of watered down "Jim Gordon"-esque situation.
It's all about just being smart when you apply a solutions based approach with other people.

The boy scouts were a great organization that is now feminized and lost its way. We need to create new groups based on the original goal but start with many smaller localized groups at first for now until people realize it's important to learn to be a real man in this country again

A comment on "Don't ask, but Do..."
People may have a plan for an activity and they might have the jobs divided up. If you come forward with "How can I help?" they can assign you a job they think you might be good at and tell you their plan. If you start acting and performing a job you think they require without informing them, you might discombobulate their plans or mess up a certain way they want a particular job to be performed.
Something like preparing for a picnic, they need to prepare jello and meat. You start preparing jello and set it in the fridge to set, you take up a slot required for the meat to be preserved cold, but you might not have known this. But if the meat is prepared first, once its cooked it can be left out of the fridge for a bit while the jello sets, but the meat might have to be prepared in a special manner.
There might be some cases where you know the business well enough and you CAN act without asking. In which case its also always good to keep your friend informed as to what you've done so they can keep track of and coordinate jobs.

I'm 35 year old white boy in Hungary, so I don't understand this is this over forced or something else... When I was at kindergarden I had payed ironing and some home chore games like that so I can help Mom when I'm older. I'm consider also tree (my 9 year old niece is doing it all the time like I had done) climbing gender neutral game. Am I an idiot perhaps, but my understanding was there that if it beneficial for the family there is no gender.

You have some sound advice but when you start knocking the gender neutral stuff makes me question you. Who cares about gender neutral. There are masculine men and masculine women. Include everyone. There's alot of women who also listen to this. Let's get a united audience mind frame instead of a secluded one. Do appreciate it videos. Just would like to see less gender neutral bashing. Thanks ryan

It's neither confirmed by studies, it just showing a spectrum of cognitive behaviours. How am I right?
