its ok to remove but if you want to upgrade ram hdd sdd or wifi , there is no need at all to remove the battery, if you read the schematics you would know that there is no power on those rails until the power is on. but if you feel safe doing it by all means go a head a do it, and i appreciate your support to the channel my friend :)

Hello! I'm watching your video because I'm trying to put a samsung 5400 rpm HDD on my DELL G3 15 3500, but after i put it in, the computer goes on "preparing auto repair" and doesn´t boot itself, I believe what the computer is trying to do is to boot from the HDD instead of the SSD that has all the archives, windows and stuff, can you illustrate how can i aproach this issue, or is this a matter of the speed of the HDD since you say in the video that 7200 is better recommended? Appreciate the answer!
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: OK wait SSD is much much faster than any HDD! a hdd 7200rpm is faster than hdd5400RPM. if you upgrade the HDD to a new HDD you must install windows 10 on the SSD again, because when you have two drive in a computer during the windows installation the windows takes the 2nd drive and places some pending into that.
STEPS you should take:
#1 create windows 10 usb drive:
ruclips.net/video/uDu8j2lE-dM/видео.html
#2 now the solution for you will be to back up all your documents and images videos on the old HDD 5400.
#3 place the new HDD7200.
#4 power off the laptop
#5 place the USB BOOT drive (step#1)
#6 power on and keep tapping on F12 till you see a boot menu option
#7 choose your USB boot drive
#8 important follow steps by step: follow any of my windows 10 installation guide to get the optimum performance:
ruclips.net/video/GkMZyCUarIA/видео.html
(note when you get to the step to choose the where to install windows make sure you delete all the drives and you will be left with two drives, Drive 0, and drive1, one of then will be XXGB and the other XXGB.)
install windows on the SSD (XXGB you should know)
#8 good luck if anything let me know.
@@uFixTek thanks for your reply! I'm definitely subbing, if I'm understanding well, for me to place a new HDD in the empty slot of the laptop, I would have to install windows again in my main SSD which the laptop already has for it to work with 2 hard drive, (1SSD and 1HDD). Thanks for your help!
@@aaronjuarez7470 yes my friend, you have a dependency with windows, trust me back up files and format its very easy and satisfying ☺️, and you windows will be faster, and your license will be transferred automatically. when you replace the hdd or ssd you will have to install the windows freshly or download "Macrium Reflect"
and use a usb to sata adapter: amzn.to/37rUluM
and clone your main disk into the new ssd or hdd and then replace then as the video here and it will boot just fine.

What's the process for removing the screws holding down the hard drive? I'm using a similar screwdriver but the screw isn't budging
If you talking about the 3 screws that hold the caddy, then use philips head 0 o 1. use the screw head that fits perfectly and you will need to push down with a force and rotate. sometimes they put the screws very tight. I would appreciate your support to the channel by a sub :P

first thanks for such fast reply
wanted to ask one more thing that can it cause blue screen error by using different frequency rams ?
A bad ram can give you blue screen, if your ram is old and has a bad sector it can give blue screen.
you old ram it may not show you blue screen because the ram, is not filled up to max capacity. and when you place the new ram even 3200 it may show you blue screen because the old ram will be filled.
i always do this to my clients if they upgrade the ram, down load a ram rest or use windows ram test command on your old ram, and see if you get BSOD with your old ram.
if you didn't get BSOD with your old ram then install the new ram 3200 and test ram test.
you can test the new ram alone to make sure it doesn't came defective.
if all test come OK, and you get BSOD then you will have to reformat the windows but even before that check make sure your hard drive has zero bad sector or weak sector use this free program,
www.hdsentinel.com/download.php
if your drive has even one single bad sector it can cause the BOSD
@@uFixTek
I'm a bit over cautious as I am upgrading my laptop for the first time
one more thing i wanted to ask is that
->Bad ram could be a brand new too ?
Currently I don't have any HDD in my laptop as it came with only SSD
->if i wanted upgrade my RAM to 16GB then also should I buy 2x8GB RAM 3200 Mhz or should i buy only 2x8GB 2666Mhz RAM only ?
As currently I'm in situation to buy only one Ram stick of 8 Gb as I'm buying HDD for my laptop
#1. yes rams can come defective we do deal with many brands and in all brands defective rams do exist.
that's why you should always do a ram test after installing.
#2. dont ger 3200, get the 2x8GB 2666Mhz
Is the process identical for a SATA SSD too?
yes you can put a HDD SATA or SSD SATA in there its all the same 100% good luck
Im new to this pc gaming stuff, I too have a G3 gaming laptop , it comes with a 512gb SSD. My question is why would someone want to do this? I thought HDD are the past and SSD is the future?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
sorry that i was away for few days, regarding your question:
SSDs are only good for the OS and programs to run faster, but for the file security the HDD are the 1st choice, for e same reasons all server around the world are always based on HDD. 2nd reason is that the SSDs have lower life span as its based on TBW (Terabytes Written), some low brand give you much lower tbw and Samsung brands give the higher. once the TBW gets to its limit the file risk is high and the OS becomes very slow and crashing.
but the HDD have no TBW (Terabytes Written), you can fill that and empty the drive as many times you like.
i hope this have answered your questions.
So is there not a hard drive where you put the drive when you get it from factory?

if i'm adding a SATA ssd not replacing the already ssd m.2 that is in the laptop , i need to install windows and all that stuff ? or just putting the new ssd and i would work well
your windows is installed in your m.2 ssd , you can remove your HDD SATA and place a any 2.5' SATA ssd in there and login into windows normally and if you dont see the ssd in your computer , you may have to activate it.
here i made few step by step for you.

Is it bad if you fold the ribbon like that?
there is not problem on folding the ribbon cable few times but. its not recommended if you are doing to fold it more than 10-20 times. as you not going to be replacing hdd every week or so, so dont worry and the thing is once you fold it the shape you want, there is no reason to unfold to remove the adapter. you can just disconnect the adapter and conserve the shape of the flex they same way you had. i hope i explained my self :)

@@uFixTek I do have one more question. I watched a review regarding thermals that in high performance mode, it can hit 90+ degrees or with undervolt cpu with high 80s. Would it be recommended to redo the thermal paste or use liquid metal cooling? I know liquid metal voids warranty though.
i would highly recommend using LM, and your temps will not go over 80c at max use. but if you dont want to go LM go with the next best thing and less work and almost same result.

Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: from the box they give you a small m.2 ssd and a HDD, but you can upgrade to a better m.2 and a SSD sata
Is it working 😂😂
YES my friend it is working
I was wondering is this model supports a 2.5 inch solid state drive instead of a 2.5 inch hard disk drive.
this laptop any any laptop that has a HDD 2.5 can for sure get installed any ssd sata 2.5' without any issue, thank you for the support to the channel by a sub :)
@@alainchristian the best configuration would be to add a bigger m.2 ssd and have a biger mechanical drive for safe data.
@@alainchristian I currently don't have a 2.5 inch drive of any sort. I want to purchase a 2.5 inch SSD (NOT A HDD) but I wasn't sure if my laptop would support it but now know, it will :)
