Just found your channel this weekend and subscribed. Glad I did for this video alone. At 67 years of age and with a body that was stolen from me by Royal Mail as I carried bags of mail and lifted parcels for them over the years I fear a sunrise or sunset from this peak, although much longed for, is probably beyond me. It was great to be taken along with you on your journey. Maybe next year I will go In by the boat from Elgol and enjoy the views without the sunrise/set being part of the game, your images are inspirational and although not yet a convert to drone, that image captured your experience perfectly I think, nice work. Skye is amazing, it keeps calling me back and it’s truly great to look at ALL my landscape images and re-live the experience, that’s exactly why we do what we do isn’t it? No other reason. Great video and thanks for sharing, looking forward to more to come. 👊🏻👊🏻

Well done Jonny, fantastic effort in getting the shot of Loch Coruisk, my first time there in 86, walking in from the Bothy with the clag down, was like walking into middle earth. A winter shot from there would be spectacular, tent or bivvy overnight i think, but it will be a cold one if you do with the snow down. Thanks for such a lovely vid, i felt your pain on the walk back to the van. Cheers.

Amazing video and spot, and great storytelling as always! I am a hiking guide and hobby photographer, and I learned that distance and elevation gain are just numbers if not related to the weight to carry with you. But I also never thought too much about it, obviously until I learned it the hard way: delay, dehydration, excessive fatigue...
If I can give some value to this comment: on a solitary place and hike you can leave weight (equipment, food/water, clothes...) in some hidden place just before the hard part starts. You pick it later when descending (set a reminder on the phone).

A wonderful, authentic video, and it looks like an epic journey too. Thank you for sharing it, and I hope we see more like this. It’s more than the shot at the end - it’s what it took to get that shot. If you get the winter one, it’ll be great to look back on this “recce” and see everything it took to get there at the right time, with the knowledge to do it safely.

What an adventure Jonny and that hike back in the dark will definitely stand you in good stead for the walk in during winter 🥶. The video evoked memories for myself when I climbed Sgurr Alasdair up The Great Stone Chute and the effort that took but the views were amazing as I looked across to where you were above Loch Coruisk, I can still remember the day as the midges were horrendous 🤣. The photos you got sooc were terrific the dynamic range of the rays and the shadows were vast and that showed your skill as a very good photographer, looking forward to seeing the edited images at some point.

If I had one more walk up a hill left in me I would chose sgurr na stri.. probably the most iconic spot (for me anyway) of the Black Cuillin there is. I stayed in the bothy on Camasunary back in 2009 with my lad and we walked around to the bad step after we arrived at the bothy. We had no plan as we were away for a trip.. it was day 5 of our trip on Skye & this stay in the bothy was planned.. what a fab night but our trip was cut short as my lad had to return to Wales for a job interview.. we left the bothy the next morning, drove to Glen Nevis, walked Ben and then drove all the way home - it was a very long day! I never got back to do that hill although I have been back to Skye. The footage at 8:00 is breathtaking... Stunning images and the ray shot was my fave... it just has that wow factor. The shot you have planned I have seen similar.. from Marcus Adams back in abt 2012 and if you follow any videos have a look for Murrays (Scotland Mountains) trip up there.. I think you will enjoy. Great watch Jonny. atb Al
