Agree it looks way better in person. Saw one for the first time last week and it looked really good. BMW are saying that the current M2/3/4 will be BMW’s last models with a manual gearbox 😢
Finally a video with the cognac interior. Honestly I wouldn’t mind trading my G80X for a M2. Seems like a bargain in comparison since you get the same engine, breaks and etc. but for a whole lot less money.
@@eternallogic6394 went with manual. didn't mind the zf in my g80 xdrive (it wasn't bad but the dct was the one thing the f80 did better than the g80) but the m2 will be a weekender for me so went with the more engaging transmission.
How the reliability on the new G80? Also I want to get the manual G80 but I don’t know if to go for the new ID8 screen or the old one. The only one looks beautiful but a lot of people are saying the new one is really cool once you get used to it. What do you think is the better screen ?
A friend has owned a G80 M3 since new (march 2021) and it now has around 40k miles on it. Absolutely no issues to report as of now and there has been beaten on on track multiple times. It also has the older screens and they look so much better, their integration in the dashboard is perfect.
Chris, great video! Glad to hear you found it to be more engaging than the G80/G82. Any thoughts on the fake noise? I’m 80% sure it does a fake boom on upshifts too, as it does in the automatic versions. It’s sooo painful to me and comes across badly on video but curious on your perspective.
I’m glad I didn’t get a manual. Hondas have better manuals than bmw. Not sure why people are so obsessed with manuals. I’ve driven them for decades and do not miss them one bit. Sequential shifting and the technology with these transmissions are far superior. I still feel connected with the vehicle when utilizing sequential shifting.
Not sure why you would opt to get this over the m4. Objectively can do the same thing (same drivetrain), no big weight difference in rwd, both polarizing cars in their own right but I'd say the m4 has been better received in the looks department. The cherry on top for me would be that the m4 has more room inside and without these being a purpose built car its a no brainer to me. Unless you're trying to save money but who is penny pinching when looking at a brand new M car, don't think money is the main factor.
I rather get the M240 with a manual transmission and save about $9000. It is easier to live with and can do almost as an M2. Edit: No more manual transmission in 230 or the M240.

lets hope they changed their mind and dont stop producing, only sells number will tell them that we still want it.
I just saw that the 2025 M2 will have Xdrive and are thinking of having just the 8 speed auto but it’s not final yet.
Great video. I just got the M2 6 speed manual press car yesterday, same color, but mine had the Carbon Bucket seats. I loved my 2016 M2.
is it just me or is this car beautiful? it gives me e46 m3, and f87 m2 vibes.
Honestly same. It looks good in person esp in certain colors
Love your videos man, so raw and without all of the bloat of other reviewers
the selener reference has now made you my official favourite car journalist
Hows the manual feel vs the manual supra?
8:26 you indeed gotta keep an eye out for selener.

But the looks tho..
@@NoOneForNow1 looks are subjective. Personally I like both. A drop and a lip and the new M2 will shine ✨
here power is downgraded. here weight same as m3.
I love the looks too
The new manual in the m2 is so good and much better then the f87
Super cool to see your videos when you or the topher are at Road America, I was there last weekend for the vintage festival
7:09 lmao🤣
can confirm this car actually looks really good in person. it looked so good that I actually put a deposit on one unplanned.
i aspire to have that kind of money. i dream of owning an M car one day :)
Did you get a manual or automatic?

@@trollolol705No wonder your wife left you
Friend just picked up the same. Pictures or videos do not do it justice. Rear quarters are amazing. Sounds brilliant as stock.
I'm in love!!

Would it be worth replacing my IS500 with this M2?
Definitely not
@@matthewla16 , thx.
I do still have the IS500 and I am enjoying it very much
@@bcvijasiuM2 is much faster, 2025 will be about 485 hp on a dyno, IS is not even close
@matthewla16 definitely yes! The IS is a turd!
Any advice on starting a car review channel? Tips and tricks to be able to review cars from dealers?
M4 starts at 30% more than an M2. I wouldn't call that just a "little" bit more regardless of the price range.
What camera are you using ?? 🤔💪🏼
Probably Gopros
I think Kodak.
@@Mekaeshi maybe Fuji
@@bloomvikung Indeed.
GoPro.
you were saying the car colour so well until you called it german its dutch and is a track
Alright, the cop car popping out actually scared me lmao

S58 is really reliable and BMW's new engines are overall really reliable
who wins in a race? Lil Toph in the M2 or the Prius Prime?
I really wanted this one but its over 650,000 NIS, thats over 170,000$
Feels bad, I'll stay with my civic
For 72k I’m trying to decide between a used 2023 m3 with under 18k miles or an new spec out m2
Love the interior color but not with the Zandvoort blue exterior
Why is dude constantly short shifting?

I like the current Supra better just bc it doesn’t have the tv screens
how stiff is the suspension in comfort ? Is it floaty or no ?
Penso che il cambio manuale sia l’ultima cosa che tu sappia usare… 😮
car for sure needs an aero kit, that front end is horrendous
Zandvoort is a city in the Netherlands... nothing to do with anything Germany or German

I finally realised ,BMW can’t do noses.
Zandvoort is dutch not german ;]
You would like it to have less power, choose the diesel 👍☹️
I was hoping BMW M would redeem themselves with a slam dunk new M2. Ugh.
would be amazing with 250 lbs less weight 😅
a dentist drives the car? WTF bro

The outside just looks ugly
I hate how they're ruining bmw
What is this gummy you speak of???????????
Just a note: Now that there's engines AND motors in many cars, I think it's important to be specific.... This thing has an Engine, not a motor.
same thing
Zandvoort is a Dutch word, not German.
The name probably came from a Dutch circuit with the same name: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circuit_Zandvoort
really bothered by the tach on the right. every car iv driven tach is on left speedo on right. this just hurts my eyes i couldnt drive it
The instruments are horrible. Analog or bust.
