Here's also a though about their changes: Depending on the time period and training they undergo they're muscles change, like training under high gravity, you get buffed, and ending with super where they're more focused on god ki and shit. look at beerus

I hate the artsyle in super. The redesigns makes it look like they exclusively drink soy. The best art was the Buu saga

Honestly, it's not that bad if you look at it from a realistic standpoint. Go look at the canon weights for the characters. Only Piccolo weighs over 170 pounds, and he's reasonable jacked.

I like the fact that the artists seem like they have brought the physiques full circle from beginning to current physique.
I personally like his body in Super. It more accurately reflects a fighter’s practical body as opposed to a bodybuilder’s excessive bulk.
Vegeta is not human, your argument is invalid. Also, you're disregarding guys like Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar
man,heavyweight fighters are bulked in real world for eg-francis ngannou,brock lesnar,alistair ubereem,tim sylvia etc.
But they're saiyan not humans.
The argument "Vegeta is Saiyan, not human" it's.. well... invalid.
Saiyans are a species very similar to humans, that's why they can have children with them.
Anyways. The reason for Vegeta's bulked physique is his fighting style. In Dragon ball z form Saiyan saga to Cell saga his fighting style is similar to the navy soldier combat style. He is agresive, rough and not too flexible. He only train strength and dodge..?
Then in Buu saga, he experiments with other styles (when he fights with Pui-Pui he jumps just like a Boxer, for example.) And looks for a more practical body.
In super, he is more like a martial artist and adopts certain things of martial arts. His body is smaller in order to increase speed and flexibility. In super is more acrobatic and agile so a "skynnier" body is more practical. This is why he uses super Saiyan god form in the manga. However he will probably adopt a bulked physique again because of his new transformation which makes him more aggressive.

I think really cool one would be Zuko, his physique clearly changed through out the series intetentionally. At the beginning he was jacked, when he and Iroh left Zuko got skinny, and as they got back on their feet Zuko put a bit more mass on
Vegeta, Sub Zero and Ryu was the reason I got into working out.

My goal physique is almost the same as vegeta in the buu saga.
I would've liked if in super Vegeta would have stuck with the buu saga tank top instead of going back to the cell saga armor. I feel the tank top outfit would look better with super saiyan blue.

I think Vegetas best outfit to me is the one he wore in the Freza return/ universe 6 tourney arc. That saiyan armor that Whis gave him was just perfect.

Vegeta hasn't looked as puny in that armor since he first became a Super Saiyan. His most jacked moments were when he ascended, and also became Majin Vegeta.

Personallly. I want to say that the reason for Goku and Vegeta's atrophy was due to Divine Ki training, in the sense that they focused on increasing ki and their control of it, getting rid of any unecessary muscle but they were already like that to begin with.

Vegeta did more than goku ever did against jiren, goku didn't even land a blow(he did but in Ui and that was only one hit) while vegeta landed multiple and saw through jiren attacks unlike goku and yet we got people blowing down on him.

I think what's going on with Super is that now they are trying to make the characters be fast, agile, and stylish rather than powerful and hulking. Which looks better when the characters are slightly thin. Things like Goku's super stylish final dodge against Kefla's energy beams while he was charging his kamehameha make me think that this is the case.
suprqt yh but one of the main appeal of DB in general is how jacked and muscular the characters looked, it really motivated me to train and become as big when I was a kid. It just looks like kids are animating super because how skinny they look
That’s kinda always been the case. Every time in DBZ when a character tries to be powerful and hulking, they got annihilated because their opponent had a speed advantage over them. Look at Trunks when he fought Cell. Look at Frieza when he fought Goku.

Every time? Lol, you're talking out of your ass. Frieza wasn't buffed in Golden form yet the same thing happened (he lost POWER, not speed or maybe both, but not just speed, and it was over time he was being drained, kinda like SS3), and the thing with Trunks was exclusive to him alone (he was slow from the start). When Vegeta ascended, he did so more balanced so it didn't affect his speed, yet he gained tons of muscle. Still, obviously Goku somehow had a better training regime (dunno why he didn't do the same and train with SS3's strain like Gohan did with the Z sword though...somehow training in base without strain in Super is more effective.)
When Trunks became "enraged" in Super, he certainly bulked up, he gained massive power but he didn't lose speed...whereas merged Zamasu definitely did when he became giant against SSB Vegito just like Perfect Cell did against Gohan.

Gods, how I hate how Vegetables got his Super form. Goku had his sht pushed in, watched his best friend get destroyed, another almost killed all hope is lost and that has woken inside of him.
