Man this channel is becoming comfort content for me. Just brings a smile to my face to hear that "Hello everyONE!" . . . Using the SCOP to take out a rocket and not much else seemed like a massive blunder. Grit needed all the breathing room he could get in this match. I agree though that there's not much you can do against an army of recons + 70k Colin SCOP.
Insane match. It looked like Jokas was way ahead, even capturing both com towers and having an income advantage, *as Grit.* And then Colin turned around and said "Let me show you the power of money!"
Oh man, this game was a trip. We played this over a pretty long time and towards the end we turned it into a bit of exhibition game with other folks giving suggestions for positioning. Some spoilery thoughts: - I definitely misplayed the early game, I felt like I needed to keep pressuring to close out the game but that was kinda impossible on this map. - I should have started saving money and holding back to get some real big money with gold rush. I wasted a bunch of early powers that didn’t get enough value. - the rockets were almost exclusively to lock down properties and force an overextension by grit to dislodge them. This way I could slow down grits push and have more time to save up funds and get closer to the unit cap - I do think I could have started saving earlier to effectively have infinite money but again there were a lot of wasted powers
Hello ! Great videos ! It was a really interesting and fun test game. I made some mistake in the first SCOP timing attack, but even if it's a very very good map for Grit, it's not the best. More heavy terrain for avoid recon in the opening, no comm tower and, more important, a 13k income safe capture phase in the opening, would be good too. On this game, my opponent do a great job to avoid Grit to secure 13k gold. As soon as he can reach 13k gold in 3 bases map (or 14k gold in mixed base), he become very dangerous because he can spam 2 arties per turn. During COP/SCOP, each arties become a rocket (and better than a "normal" rocket). So basically, his unit value is multiply per 2 (with enough indirect units). I don't think Grit can beat Colin in std (and for sure he can't in HF) because of his SCOP. Movement bonus and/or OHKO possibilities are really important against Grit. For example, Max has a better match up against Grit than Kanbei. Grit can win against Colin if he can set up a large number of indirect units AND avoid Colin to fight for not give a lot of power barre (it's for this reason I didn't shoot the neotank, btw). But in fact, at a certain level, it's really difficult. Maybe too difficult ? But I wanted to try on this map. A draw for Grit is considered like a win in my heart. But it was not a draw nor a win :( GG to Killmefirst
I enjoy seeing Jokas, he's been around for ages. - - - - - - - - - Yeah Colin is just too strong, unless you bully him hard in the early game and deny him a lot of ground he will eventually just snowball after a few gold rush leading to the power of money. Good game to both players.
Great to see this kind of game covered! I'm of the opinion that at least some Tier 0 matches should show up in GL and Live--maybe like a 10% chance of a match up being generated as Tier 0.
Randomly came across this video, this game reminded me of that old mobile game Ancient Empires. I love this type of games. I will definitely be playing this one. Thanks for putting the game link too!
Amazing game. I think if Grit just held on to the 2nd super for forever he might have a chance but the game would take way too long. The tempo swing after each Grit super is so devastating.
A funny thing I noticed was that the first recon was build on day 2. Not day 3, not day 2 with a base skip, just day 2 as if it's the most normal thing ever. Just Colin things.
Grit should've bought more rockets to threat the corners. Also more Md tanks to use as a block those 1 and 2 tile wide paths. And keep at at least 3 star power active. Then just put the opponent back and back and back...
Regarding Hachi, his power spikes are much faster and harder than Colin's. Whereas Colin had to play the long game, building up for Power of Money to eventually overrun, Hachi would have simply overwhelmed Grit before he ever got that critical mass.
The problem with reviewing the replay on the site is that it spoils who wins the match. The loser's statistics are in italics which gives it away immediately.
Pretty sure, only Hachi can beat Colin - make 10 or more in a single turn and put so much pressure to never let Colin accumulate enough money for the super.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Recons 1HKOing artillery on plains
thats pretty close tbh
BEEP BEEP

GG to Killmefirst
I, for one, would love to see a T0 only tournament or league to help really develop a solid T0 meta
Grit shouldn’t be tier 0 imo.
@@gentlemansquarrel190 on a 3 base no airport map? Seemed pretty t0 to me
Hachi wins on every map bigger than like 17x17
I enjoy seeing Jokas, he's been around for ages.

This really is a rare good showcase of Colin being absurdly broken. Even though Grit had a big advantage with the choke points.

i watch your vids, to build up the courage to play on awbw, some day i'll be ready!
you got this
Play some Z games. They're unranked. Get comfortable.
Colin does an amazing job at interpreting the Great Toyota War of 1987. Well done!
Super enjoying your videos, keep up the amazing work :)
Finally some Grit love😍 my favorite stall CO😁
Thanks for your work and analysis!
Colin got those nuclear missile tanks and goddamn laser rifle infantry for one turn
Amazing game. I think if Grit just held on to the 2nd super for forever he might have a chance but the game would take way too long. The tempo swing after each Grit super is so devastating.
One wonders if the map were a little different (fewer roads/shoals) and Recons weren't as strong whether Colin would have had any chance at all
this was very fun to watch
50k with 1 comm tower or 54k with 0 is about the breakpoint for Colin's super to be scary.
Power of money is such a powerful SCOP lol. Great match

true!
Now show us a Hachi vs Colin. Let's see how Billy Gates Jr. fares against God of Spam.
Grit should've bought more rockets to threat the corners. Also more Md tanks to use as a block those 1 and 2 tile wide paths.
And keep at at least 3 star power active.

Should have picked Ridge Island as map to make it more fair for grit
That was an insane game hahah
More tier 0 memes pls
