I Just Love the way u support us by ur Prompt Reply in spite of Clear Explanations 😍. Can’t Thank You Enough♥️. You are A Treasure👍🏾.
Very nice! I've used salt dough to make very small loaves of (different shaped) loaves of bread to be used as refrigerator magnets. I just mix my old coffee pot remnants as the fluid instead of water. I bake them on parchment paper in the oven @250 degrees F, which dries them quicker & browns them like a real loaf of bread. They come out really cute.
Thats really great...i will try coffee trick next time😊
Yes even i prefer to dry them in oven...as i sont have patience of waiting for few days😁
Thank you so much for ideas😊

Thank you for your effort, Cat.
I am long searching for a home made clay recipe to make my bowls and dishes and, after several other failed attempts, I tried this recipe, but unfortunately this doesn't fit the bill either. It was way too soft and sticky and I had to add much more flour to make it manageable. But it stayed soft and gooey and difficult -not to say impossible- to form it into a nice, thin layer. It cracked while drying and seems not to dry completely. In short: probably works well for little ornaments as seen in the video, but not for bigger projects like bowls and (jewelery) dishes. So I continue to use store bought air-dry clay.
I'm sorry, Cat.
Did you ever find a recipe that works? Please share it if you want. I'm looking for the same kind of home made clay.
Ur instructions was very clear mam, but I wanted to know if v can store outside or anyplace other than in fridge.
All ur crafts n sculpture making are awesome, I've been following u for over a yr, thanku for sharing ur ideas
Its made from all eatable things so you need to store it in fridge
@@CreativeCatCreations Thankyou
I really like that you show the shrinkage comparison in your videos, and many other important details as well. Beautiful work! Many Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us.💖👍✨
Thank you. That is the recipe I use to make playdough for my kid's. I just add half to1/3 cup of salt. For me it doesn't crack when air dryed so much. An to color it. I use powder drink mix. (Kool-aid) it makes it smell good. An gives great color. An i don't worrie about my 3 yr old eating some. Lol I use clear spray paint to seal min. Thank you for sharing the paint idea for color. I will use that when I work with it. 😊
Yeah even i make playdough for my kid with this, i just mix food colors for different colors that way it stays nontoxic....your kool aid trick is really cool...gotta try next time...thank you for ideas Haven😊😍
what is cool aid?
Kool aid is a brand of flavoured milk available in US
Yes. Most any powdered drink mix would work as well.

I made this clay and made a beautiful fairy house but i couldnt colour it. But after few days everything started coming out....its cracking. Why so? All my hardwork in vein 😔
Loved your video.. New subscriber. Also you said about drying for 4-5days, should we keep the craft we did in the sun for drying or just leave it not touching for 5days?
I'm gonna try your recipe; however, I'm perplexed by folk here whom have said that their dough got infected with fungus and pests... I've been making Christmas decorations from dough for years and never had a problem with either fungus or pests. Of course as soon as they're dry I put a base coat on them, then an acrylic coat, and then varnish them. I've never used salt in my dough tho... My decorations have lasted for at least a dozen years without any problems such as described. In any event your video was great! Thank you for sharing. :)
Yeah true, even i use my Christmas ornaments for years...you just need to seal them with varnish as soon as they dry...salt works as preservative....may be people dont follow the instructions properly
It's depend upon the weather of your city or country but if we apply acrylic court and one is to eat it will last longer so we have to apply it after drying
@@CreativeArtbyRoja I don't believe that I quite understood what you are saying, sorry... We are talking about ornamental decorations, not edible decorations. I'm also confused by you saying that it depends on one's country or climate for making these decorations. Growing up I made these in my home state, Tennessee, also I made them in Chicago and Florida; since my Mother is English, I've also made them in the UK too, and then again in France and the Isle of Man; in fact, wherever I am in the world, I still make them for friends and family. Never had a problem with the different climates. I always knew as a child that these were not edible decorations/ornaments, and would never eat anything coated in paint and varnish of any sort.

You gave me some great ideas. Thank you for the video. I have a question. If you want to make a large batch of clay, do you just multiply the ingredients? I wanted to make 10 pounds or more for very big pieces,. is there a recipe for that?

Hi.. I have been searching for this kind of clay art for my daughters hand and foot print and finally end to your diy. It is amazing. I have some questions- 1-when to apply varnish on the craft.
2-how can I preserve it for lifetime.
i love the smile on your fishes face. and seeing your little ones' hands playing
First of all, you are giving great practical information. Thank you very much. I'd like to ask you a question about your homemade clay. Can we use it immediately after making the homemade clay or do we have to wait for a while? And are you hiding this clay at room temperature or in the fridge? Again thank you so much 🤗❣😍
thank you😊
You can use the homemade clay immediately after making if necessary but I will advise you to rest it overnight for better consistency.
You can store it at room temperature, no need of refrigeration
You have talent.Thank you for sharing and stay safe.Me and my grandkids are making some of these this weekend.MeMe
How long should it be in the oven for? Also, can I use food dye to dye it? Thank you so much.
Very helpful...but how will the clay last long if we do not add fevicol to it while mixing?

When you make charms out of it ,do those charms expire with time?
No just add vinegar and neem oil one spoon each. Though it has salt
@AaradhyaTiwary-cs3gn I have not tired it with lemon juice. It may or may not work. If you want to use free as in available ingredients then you can use neem leaves powder or pulp as well.
What a great idea, will make this with my Granddaughter. Thank you

Amazing homemade clay👍 will vinegar work to replace salt so the clay won't be affected by humidity?
Salt and maida are the main ingredients so it wont work properly if you add vinegar
But in monsoon it release water
Thank you so much, its look nice and easy 🥰
Can I use it like in paper mache crafts?
Thanks ❤🙏
Whether this clay can be used for embossing
Happy to see use of environment friendly, Biodegradable maida , rather than nonbiodegradable polymer

After 1 day of preserving it has become liquidy consistency
s I too make this and for me also happens the same.very disappointed
@@ramaganesh9208 same with me. It's become soft after 3 days😒
If you stay in highly humid place, it will happen as already instructed in video that this clay gets effected by humidity as high salt content.... this is not something invented by me...in western countries salt dough gets used since centuries...i just tried to introduce it here as people wanted a cheap clay...but offcourse its depends on place to place....even i have salt dough things i made 6 years ago completely intact.....you need to take this everything in consideration before getting disappointed....btw you can oven dry it if there is high humidity.
