    Generally, the first year of a new model is one to avoid. This holds true even for reliability stalwart brands like Toyota as well. I really like the new Model 3 and look forward to the new content. And it really looks great in black.

      Agreed, which is why I didn't buy the Cyber Truck which is what I was originally looking to purchase, but after all of the quality issues came to light it prompted me to look at other options. I feel that if you give them 3 years or so everything will be resolved with the truck, but we'll see.
      ...And yes the car is pretty stunning in black and the car is very shiny for a non-metallic paint! It's a chore to take care of and get looking the best but I still enjoy taking care of it.

    I had some issue with mine on delivery day. They only addressed the over spray that day. Also had misalignment and panel gaps. The scariest part was when I was driving home the breaks wouldn’t stop and regen didn’t kick in. Now I am seeing videos all over about this and on social media. Lastly, the aero wheels sound like they are cracking and expanding when you drive. You can’t even attempt to take them off without scratching the wheels !! 😡 Have service appt for several issues & Tesla will fix them. Good luck 👍🏾

      Oh my... I've heard of the regular breaks not working fully but you have to break those in and they will function over time, but as someone whose use those breaks quite a lot on cruises I must say they are pretty soft compared to any other sports car I've had, but the i8 I owned previously was somewhat similar so maybe it's normal for hybrid and ev's to have rather soft breaks.

    Took delivery on June 5th, immediately I found 8 items that needs to be addressed. I had to wait 23 days for the next available service date, and Tesla was able to address 7 of those issue. I feel you bro. I picked up my M3LR last week and during pickup, the SA noticed that my roof was cracked in the corner. It was replaced under warranty at the service center in a couple of hours but I was gutted at first. Also found about a four inch scratch in the glass on the passenger rear window yesterday that I didn’t notice. What the hell are they doing to these cars that glass has a deep scratch in it? Edit: scratch is in the inside at the top where it meets the weatherstripping so it’s hard to notice.

    So I'm just wondering did you have to accept delivery? I mean given the condition of the boot!! That's crazy. Why not just reject delivery and send it back? Get another one. Rather than accept delivery and then proceed immediately to the service department to do repairs. I don't get it. I only ask because I am interested in buying one of these and I do kind of worry if this is the quality control I can expect. I was told they got this under control now but I guess not so much? But if you don't have to accept delivery then it's cool. I am cool to keep sending them back for as long as it takes until I get one that's up to par. If you have to accept delivery however, well then I would be hesitant.

    • @BlackbirdProductions
      @BlackbirdProductions  Месяц назад

      Based on my research some people I follow did say you can deny delivery but to me that doesn't make sense if they require you to pay before taking delivery. However, I did pay cash so my options are probably more limited than what you might get when leasing or financing. As for the condition of the car during delivery I have another video planned to talk about that in more detail.

    • @jeffreytolentino6669

      You can reject delivery. They word their delivery process like you need to make final payment before scheduling a delivery date but at no point do you have to pay them In full until your are satisfied with your actual vehicle. I rejected and canceled my Model 3 order a few days ago for quality issues. You can reject/put a hold 2 times before you have to submit a whole new order.

    good thing you didn't buy a new Toyota! While the problems with your car are pretty minor, imagine buying a new vehicle with a failing bottom end or transmission....and a manufacturer that doesn't understand why the problems are happening, and having so spares available...for months. Imagine a world where Toyota buyers expected the same level of quality as Tesla buyers have. I'm confused about the cell to wi-fi issue. Seems like a phone issue, not a car issue. As for saving $100/year by not buying premium connectivity, I think you're saving pennies and throwing away dollars. Using the cell radio that comes with the car not only saves a lot of cell phone data, but it's also a whole lot better for your health. Do you really want to sit in a metal enclosure being bathed in RF noise? Best to ditch the phone while in the car and use it only for essential phone calls and text messages....which the car handles beautifully.

    • @BlackbirdProductions
      @BlackbirdProductions  2 месяца назад

      Ahhh yes... I've had my fair share of encounters with Toyota as well as Nissan. In fact my first EV was going to be a 2017 Leaf pre-covid but after test driving it and also pointing out to my seller that the door handle was coming off and was glued on he got mad at me and said I was wasting his time when I decided not to go forward with the purchase.
      As for connectivity, honestly, I'm just subscription fatigued and the last thing I won't is to pay for another subscription that could otherwise be offloaded to my cellular provider. In this case the fact that I can only connect 30% of the time to the car on my hotspot is that car causing this because I've never had issues connecting to any of my other devices, and when I told my TA it was like speaking a foreign language to him because he had no clue what I was talking about lol.
