Crazy how American coaches just throw taller players in the post due to size. Whereas, in Europe, he’d be on the perimeter similar to Dirk, Giannis, Stojaković, or Luka. Buddy is literally one inch taller than Luka. American basketball "coaches" a 100% sub par.

There are just too many guys who are just better offensive players than Loon. Also, in all of these clips, he's the biggest player. Given equal skill, size absolutely matters. Everyone in the NBA used to be THE MAN on their HS and college teams (if they went). Even tho the pool is really small, there are just too many dudes who do the flashy stuff better. Gotta find a niche to survive in the NBA.

This is why European bigs are more advanced than our bigs smh. If he were in Europe, a coach would have tried to nurture what he was doing and allowed him to continue as he was while working towards improvements. American coaches are still old school as hell: Everything is about highlight reel stars and no one else matters. Oh, you're 4 or 5? Get your big ass down in the paint and be our rebound merchant because you're not gettting any touches or plays run for you. If I was a young big, I'd take my ass to Europe and work on developing there. They actually let bigs work on running sets and fundamental passing. They allow them to take shots outside of the paint.

That's the problem with "Star" high school players. They have to keep working even with the limelight and stop playing poor competition. It's not that he's not good enough to do this but he pretty much cant do it against elite defenders at a faster pace. Transferring to a top tier school like oakhill, montverde or img would have helped him practice against top talent everyday. Anybody in the NBA can beat the kids he beat at the HS level. Ask Romeo Langford
