@Shady Is he? The 76ers have just played 2 games in the play offs, Mac wasn't on the roster in either of those games. He's on a two way, and played 38 minutes in two dead games.
@@John8_43-44 yeah he’s very similar to Gerald green bc I think what keeps him out of a guaranteed contract is that he’s a point guard height with shooting guard assets if he improved his decision making and wasn’t looking to score all the time, teams would probably offer to him. Gerald green become more nba ready when he accepted his role on a roster and that’s hard for a lot of guys to do.
Yeah, his shooting and first step quickness have dramatically improved. His biggest opportunity for improvement at this point is his BB IQ. He still has a tendency to rush on offense when he could take his time and setup smarter plays for him and his teammates. Don't get me wrong, he's dramatically improved in that regard, but I still feel like he has a ways to go there.
@@xtraspecialj Agree! but he means well. I mean he passes sometimes at awkward times when he doesn't need to. Just take it to the hole damnit!! I want to yell lol.
@@ryanbarr2977 Yeah, that's kind of what I mean. He frequently seems to just play by instinct, and since he's an incredible athlete and a talented player, it often works out for him, but when I watch him play it doesn't seem like he's thinking and planning the offense out very well. You watch other players of similar size to him in the NBA (Steph Curry, Fred Van Fleet, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul etc.), and they play using their mind just as much as they play with their athleticism and skill. In the NBA, you have to be smart just as much as talented; unless you're a 6'9" or larger monster of course...
NBA level talent and shotmaking is so eye opening good. These guys can get to their spot almost anytime they want. And on the rare occasion they can’t, and take a ‘bail out’ shot it’s still nothing but net.
I always tell people who think "so and so should be in the league!" that what that person is almost always missing is size/defense. Most people have NO idea what it means to guard even the worst players in the NBA, much less the lightning fast PGs who get minutes. But I think Mac actually has that ability. He didn't at first, and thankfully it was from a lack of desire rather than ability. But over the last few years dude has become a dog on defense. I think he'll make a roster next year. Even if it's just a mid-season 10 day, and work his way onto some team.
Lacks althetism،, side by side movement, ie lacks defense, plays like shooting guard size like a 2000 point guard ie small, .. lacks iq for point guard. Maybe 10 day but would think he is a liability.. reminds me of Brandon Jennings without the speed... but game similar... Would need a team around him that compliments him.. a rotation for g league but nba would be hard..
@@Weeby_historian he can jump doesn't mean he's explosive... you can tell he worked on his hops .. but as for one step explosiveness nope... Just because you can jump doesn't mean your quick.... athletic enough. Example he's like 6 foot 2 maybe less.. plays like a shooting guard.. you really think he can guard a point a guard.. What is his advantage... not size, not speed, not shooting, not defense, not iq, not strength... As shooting guard.. undersized, not a great shooter, don't see him getting to the rim and making the points.. I see him as maybe streaky and inefficient due to what he lacks. He reminds me of Brandon Jennings.. but he was better.. and had a team just kind of built for his flaws.. no time like that out there.. You see him guarding a ja Moran, steph,.. Even Trae young is not athletic but his hype he got a team catered around him although he is inefficient and not athletic and ie no defense... they won't win with him... But atleast traw gives highlights... lol.. McClung is not in game athletic..
I’ve been a McClung fan since high school and THT is in his class and he was a bucket. That man tough he just didn’t get noticed until his dunk contest but still under appreciated
Almost thought this was recent... This video is FOUR YEARS OLD. The "NBA pros" weren't even in the NBA. KPJ still has his senior year haircut and you can see Jesser there cause he was invited to make content with them
This gotta be from like 3-6 years ago, I remember watching this before all of these guys blew up especially THT. He finally got a leading role with Utah and showed out this year
@@antionedemps9771yall gotta stop trusting stats man this is his best season yet. Off ball defence took a leap this year and he's much more active on the court. Definitely struggles with shooting at times but he's a real role player now. He's doing good with the opportunity he's been given so he's definitely showing out
They giving him an opportunity with the jazz. Ngl he is good out there with the ball in his hands, lakers should have given him more time to develop his game
It’s kind of funny how people think he’s like some giant underdog or something. Dude had like 15 ppg average, shooting 39% in college so he wasn’t some super dominant dude at that point. There are so many incredible players out there that go undrafted. He played in the G league for like a year or so? Then was signed… that’s not at all a slow progression for someone who wasn’t some obvious star power in college, who then proved really impressive stuff in the G league. Now he has a massive opportunity. People already know about his athleticism so it’s up to him now whether he can put some of those other pieces together and really take it up a notch.
Horton-Tucker can score, but he had the worse defense out there. His feet are too slow. Just so everyone’s clear, the NBA is not the best 450 players. It’s the best 100 players and 350 that fit roles.
Mac is literally everything u need in a backup Pg, can score, defend, young and still has potential to even be a starter for an NBA team. Ppl have an excuse to say he’s undersized when trae young is a starting guard at 5’11….
He is just small and it’s a 2 way game defense matters and at his size it’s tough. There are thousands of guys like him who are good enough to be on an nba team but will never get the opportunity to play through mistakes
McClung is a future NBA Hall of Fame inductee. Reasons: (1) his rare levels of humilty and (2) grit in the context of his having (3) the fastest 3/4 court time ever recorded in the NBA and (4) his already showing he is a high basketball-IQ player like Morant or Dončić.
This shows how much skill it takes just to step into an NBA court. THT is not doing much here but is draining buckets. In the NBA, he barely even plays. This gives a context on how skilled even the worst NBA players are compared to non-pros. (Then there's Mac cooking them all lol)
