Paradiddles, nice, how it should be.
Thank you.
Buddy Holly nailed it putting this drumming in the song, you gotta love it!
The drums were perfect for the Holly recording. PLAY LOUD!
I think this cover was very nice. Drummer awesome
Thank you!
The drummer looks like Brian Wilson
Effing hell man!! Jerry Allison would be so proud of ya mate! You even have his head movements! First class, love ya!!!
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words and for watching!
My dad was the drummer and he used to say just one song I hate doing it Was Peggy Sue as it was so fast I’m watching this Drummer You can see just how fast it is from start to end
This drummer seems like the guy that is trying his hardest to prove that drumming is the coolest job in the world, and I honestly can't refute that claim.
Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Drummer is awesome!
Drummer Rocks!
Thank you
This Cat can Play !
Thank you.
Fantastic 🥁👌🏾👌🏾
Thank you
So it’s not played on any of the toms? Just turn the snare off?
He is playing on his floor tom for majority of the song
Jerry Allison didn't have toms in 1957
@@shoknifeman2mikado135 it’s not played on a snare, if you had ears and were any kind of drummer you would know this
Love it
Thank you
What you need is more cowbell
You are a real pro! So relaxed great job.
Thank you
Great cover mate 🥁
Thank you so much
Well done 🥁👍
Thank you
Fantastic
Thank you.
what set is that?
That is my Gretsch Brooklyn series kit (18"x16" kick, 12"x8" tom & 14"x14" floor tom)
Great! But no one comes close to Jerry Allison why???
Mostly because this is a live band and we don't play the songs verbatim to the recordings so we do add some different things to the music.
dannypattersonmusic ok👌when I used to watch the Crickets a few years ago, Allison used to play this song on all tom toms live. And it still sounded awesome! I wasn’t knocking, your drummer, is brilliant, just asking a question. All the best👍👌
@@hollyfanatic8686 Thank you. It's all good.
He’s not trying to be like him.
@@dannypattersonmusic wasn't being derogrative! The drumming brilliant! Sorry I didn't phrase what I meant well enough! I meant to say that JI plays it on all Tom tons when playing it live! No doubt you could do the same if you wanted to! Sorry again if I came over curt!
Are you using paradiddles
Yes I am but sometimes switch to an inverted paradiddle.
dannypattersonmusic What’s an inverted paradiddle? Why is it drummed with paradiddles and not single or double beats? Is there an advantage to paradiddles?
Inverted paradiddle sticking (RLLR LRRL) and paradiddle sticking (RLRR LRLL). The original drummer played the song with paradiddles which is what I use for most of the song but sometimes switch to the inverted to give a slightly different feel and to do a fill in the song (which are not in the original recording). I use the paradiddles for a visual aspect. In this video I start with singles (16th notes) then switch to a paradiddle (16th notes).
@@dannypattersonmusic love ya mate! Love JI as well. He had to be the most underated drummer, bar none! All best mate!
Of course! 16th parriddles!!
