Good to see ya again👍 sometimes not enough hours in a day to get things done. Looks great. Hope to see more vids as ya complete more projects. Take care and stay safe.

Hey Andy. Its been a while. I know you've been busy on your house. The best wood to make beams from would be hemlock. Aside from hardwood, it would be the strongest option. Cedar would be great for the rot resistance, but it's not a great option for structural construction.

Hey bud long time no see lol, thanks for the info! I decided to go with the cedar 6x6” hopefully I don’t regret it. I’m hoping the snow will shed off the roof but worse case I will help it along with a roof rake. Trying to get my videos up to date but life has been busy. My pitch is 4/12, and will have metal roof.

@CentralMaineOutdoorsman I hear ya. I've been real busy myself. Wasn't even able to get my food plot in. And it's not gonna slow down any time soon. Lol. A 4/12 pitch should be plenty with a metal roof. It's kinda hard to tell in the videos but it doesn't look like it's going to be a long roof so cedar should hold just fine. Plus it will loom real nice when it's done.

@@MrBrewner thanks. Ya the rain didn’t help us much this summer.
