I wonder how the recently discontinued Abarth 124 Spyder would fare with the turbocharged engine. Whatever the call, I have never enjoyed a car more than my Miata. It's reliable enough to serve as a daily driver, but handles like a slot car and goes topless on good days. And most importantly, chicks dig it.
Can run with a stock one - once you add a tune to the Si the MX5 is left far far behind Pity Mazda never puts a good engine in them.....would be a real weapon with a Honda engine under the hood of the Mx5

Dude it's light really light.... Remember the Integra type R? That had less hp and torque then the si but just as fast..why? Because it was 300 pounds lighter. That affects the car a ton. @@fredzeppelin3969 Ive never come across an Si that has exhaust, intake, wheels, typer R H, that is stock tune...
@@M4B21S88 damn you caught youtuber Sam, he is a liar... or yall just can't take his word?
I heard Gregory is going to be running 3 Honda Civics with spoon engines. And on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered 3 T66 turbos, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.
Lmao are you gonna around checking everyone's shit out, huh Brian..!???
That was a great race Sam
Always Fun to watch !
Do you know where he got the window visors for the Honda? I have the 2020 SI and I can’t find them for mine
What I learned from this video, to get faster in mazda, you need to shout "Come on mazda!"
How are you with a height of 6’2 inside a Miata?!? I tried getting in one when auto show came around and I didn’t fit, I’m 6’1
Honda Accord 2.0 vs Nissan Altima VC Turbo next race
That guy in the civic isn't very good at shifting (at least in this vid), while yours was spot on the whole time. Made the race much closer. In the runs where he shifted better, the Si walked the Miata.
😆 amazing video - great job driving the miata!
Just curious how about civic si vs forte GT
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. BRO 😎 ✌️🌴
Good review.. 👍,💯 I never would have thought of comparing thoes two cars. I didn't think Barbie's Mazda would have much of a chance even though it was close to 600 lbs lighter.😉
The Miata has never been known as a quick car, but this ND can run with the Civic Si, which is impressive. I own an '01 NB and I'm sure it would be almost comical to watch the Civic run away from it.
Can run with a stock one - once you add a tune to the Si the MX5 is left far far behind
Pity Mazda never puts a good engine in them.....would be a real weapon with a Honda engine under the hood of the Mx5
I can take the lightweight MX-5 full throttle in curvy roads with out breaking vs heavier high hp brut power!?
Then get a c5 z, cheaper, lighter, and faster. Or you can spend 30k on a miata...
that was an intense race!! very cool.
Shame the civic coupe doesn’t exist in the UK…. Could you imagine the civic coupe type r 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Honda killed the coupe last year in the US, 10th gen coupe is last of the breed.
I have the last one! 2020 Coupe Si 😊
Is mazda 1.5 or 2.0 also civic is 1.5l turbo?
Miata is always cool!
But, I don’t get the hate civic so gets from so many haters???
Civic si can hold its own, 86 Brz is same 0-60. But because it’s front wheel drive, people just hate on civic!!!???
I like front wheel drive in real world situation!!! It’s easier to drive in rain and even in snow, compared to rear wheel drive!!! Just a hate for thoughts, and just because it doesn’t do drifting!!!
Most people can’t handle drifting, that is why there are so many rebuild cars in sale for 86 and brz compare to civic si used car sale page!!!
Dude shifting has gotten better
That Civic is not stock. With a straight pipe? The MX-5 is faster stock to stock.
about what i expected. love both cars!
@@nickmotsarsky4382 everyone reads an article and knows everything about the car. So cute
@@nickmotsarsky4382 there are more factors than that bubba sorry..
You might not understand that to make that Miata go that fast without a turbo is amazing as is.
Dude it's light really light.... Remember the Integra type R? That had less hp and torque then the si but just as fast..why? Because it was 300 pounds lighter. That affects the car a ton. This Miata is almost 500 pounds or more lighter then the si. That's impressive. That's a lot of weight reduction.
@@Stormtrooper-oc4vn it is! But also I al.ost know for a fact that that Miata is stock but that Si doesn't look it.
@@redrum3835 it is stock maybe he was brake boosting which makes for a better launch then all that torque comes in handy in the long run
I think if you shift that Miata by 6000rpm you could get a better result than redlining it since max torque and power is achieved at about 5600rpm.
Exaclty!!!!
This is an ND2 with the updated engine. It's max power is about 7000RPM
Same for the si, it’s actually better to shift at 6k because it falls on its face after that.
@@227conejo nope. He said it himself, the miata felt dead after 6000rpm. You get nothing from 6-7k rpm out of that miata engine, remember, It's not V-TEC nor boosted.
@@linkinparkdrift nope. 6k. Unless it's got a cam in it.
Mazda is a sports car and in no needs of fancy modes or whatever.
What about a Jeep Cherokee 2.0T vs 3.2 or Cherokee 2.0T vs Bronco vs Alpha Romero vs Escape vs GMC Terrain , Subaru Forester XT? Compact 4x4 SUV tournament!
Coming :)
@@SamCarLegion when? When will it happen?
@@adventurer4188 soon :)
Ok when?
What upgrades does the civic have? Because it’s supposed to do a 15.1 on the 1/4 mile and the MX-5 14.5 🤷🏻♂️
Driver mod, hardest mod to buy..
I love how Sam is always cheering for the underdog! Just like me...
Honda power
Lol honda power but this tuned pos civic could barely outrun a stock miata 🤣🤣
@@cheddarballs864 it's not tuned lol besides power to weight ratio Miata has that advantage
@@cheddarballs864 so mad lol. 500 lbs lighter still loses
@@6.4inAz lol I don't give a fuck tbh. Civic has an aftermarket exhaust. You really think it's not possible he has a tune on it?
Cx-5 vs Cr-v is gonna be fun bro.
Battle of the underpowered sports cars. If they ever get a reliable V6 with rev match in one of these I'm running to the dealership.
3rd gear v-tak kicked in yo
Sam did you guys defeat the Traction control in the civic si? The car is way faster when you put the chest code in
I just used the button, no pedal dance.
@@gregmchale9996 man you should have done atleast one run with cheat code activated
@@shaunoflife4804 maybe next time 🤷♂️
Makes sense, if the pedal dance was done, that Miata would have been toast lol..its a huge difference.

Would love to see the Civic Si vs either The Elantra sport or the Forte GT 🤔
🤮🤮🤮🤮
Is the civic stock other than exhaust?
Love this! Can you do Accord 2.0t vs Infiniti Q50 3.7
LOL he said"this thing's a beast"it's just so funny because it goes to show you can drive a slow Miata and still it makes you feel like you're driving the best car in the world. Doesn't matter what Miata you're in I've had pretty much every na that you could possibly have even one automatic one and I still have fun in that car. Obviously I have more fun in my track me out of but still you can still have fun in an automatic Miata even though they get a bad rep.
