With all due respect, a driver mod is desperately needed for the BRZ. From a dig those results are wildly different from others that have tested the Miata and the new Brz to my knowledge. Could be wrong.

The brz is faster than a miata, the driver is terribly slow though. They were taking too long to shift, and had slow take offs. You should check out other channels where they compare the 2
Fastest 0-60s I've seen for these are 5.4 for the BR-Z, 5.7 for the Miata, and 6.1 for the GLI. Thinking the driver of the BR-Z wasn't launching/shifting very well. Side note, what a world we live in where a Miata is now legitimately quick.
All generations of Miata are quick with a bottle of Nitrous :) My dad drag raced an NB generation in the 11s before he was kicked off the track due to not having a roll cage. The motors are strong for turbos/nitrous. But of course, modified vs not is an endless argument. Stock ND is definitely not bad!
That's not a 2022 GLI. The front grill/facia was redesigned and the wheels were slightly altered. That is the 2019- 2021 design. 2022 model also has slightly more power. Why are you misleading your viewers?

Interested to know what exhaust mods the BRZ. It sounds like it has UEL headers and, as no tune is out for the BRZ yet, it may not be tuned for them. This may be a slower than stock (but better sounding) BRZ. Most stock dynoed BRZs are indicating 240hp flywheel or more. Almost identical power to weight as an S2000 with significantly better torque. I think a stock BRZ may have won the digs too.
I’ve seen two experienced drivers race those cars around a track and the BRZ was 0.6s faster lol. Then again it can come down to the driver, but it’s cool to know it can compete.
The BRZ is definetly slower with those stupid mods and having no proper tune to make up for the extra air… and then he decides to race. GR86 eats them for breakfast all day long. (Stock to stock)
Somebody earlier mentioned that he may have a gen 1 uel on with no tune. It’s possible that because there is no tune available yet for the gen 2 twins that he is slower than stock gen 2 twins. There have been several RUclips channels showing stock gen2 BRZs beating Miata’s even on a dig.

Great video. I have a 22 GLI (ROW SPEC) and there is no way it only has 228 HP - coming from a 15’ 335 I thought I was going to miss the sheer speed. The GLI just moves and LOVES being driven hard.

Everyone complains about certain drivers launching their cars but this is the most accurate dig racing because in the real world you’re not going to encounter professional drivers. You will be in your car and no matter what you believe you’re not a professional driver and the person next to you at the light will be an average driver in their car. If you guys decide to race there is no excuses at the end about missed shifts or not having traction control turned off. You get one shot and you either win or lose , sometimes the faster car loses.
I still don't understand why Subaru or Toyota didn't help the BRZ be what everyone wanted it to be. Missed opportunity for such a nice looking and good handling car. Great video.
For 2 reasons. Mostly cost. This is by far the best handling car for the price. And one of the best handling cars under 100k. Huge upgrade potential and great looks. Anything more in performance will cost more. And 2, if they increased performance, both Toyota and subaru would be competing with their own products. Supra 2.0 and wrx.
It now has its own category, plus off the factory the WHP is higher than what was rated. All in all, there is nothing like this. For pure enthusiast and not crying babies 😢 😭 who need to only go 0-100 as their only way to drive.
The roll race first was even and second the BRZ barely edged and the GLI was not using manual mode or it would have easily won. On automatic mode the GLI will auto upshift. On launch control and manual mode it lets the rpms go higher. The GLI certainly was the faster car in these

First roll race it was all even second roll the BRZ barely edged and that is due to the GLI Not using manual mode on the DSG. It would have been the same results as dig races if it did. Unreliable AF though....back in a Japanese car now.

the GLI is the fastest car. The GLI was on automatic mode on the roll races meaning the car was auto upshifting at lower RPMS. If he used manual mode on the DSG the results would have been the same as the dig races

I can now speak from experience having owned both an mk7 gli and a 23 brz. Gli wins everytime from a dig but brz gaps from a roll. Theyre quite impressive up at 7000 rpm

BRZ pulling on rolls had to do with the DSG in the GLI auto upshifting. under 5k rpm. Automatic mode on that car sucks. You need to put yourself in the right gear with manual mode then let it rev to almost 6k. And no this was a diff GLI newer driver. They also use the heaviest version of GLI as that is the only one available in CANDA
You should really have experienced drivers driving each car when you do these races. Almost every race I watch on this channel there are always people complaining about one of the drivers, and rightfully so. If you want to accurately compare cars you need experienced drivers driving them.
You should've added the new kia forte4 gt to this it would've been interesting these were pretty much all my choices except miata cuz it's 2 seater but I'm waiting on my 23 gt so I'm curious to see how it runs

Comes do to driver mod. My friend just bought a 2022 mx5. It's a sleeper. He easily beaten supras, 370s, q50, charger scat packs. He almost beat a GTR and rx7. Don't sleep on these mx5.

It can put down some great times on a track for those that know how to race fast and keep the speed and momentum up too.

The brz has an air suspension, lots of unnecessary added weight. Probably is not tuned as well with the uel header. Should have asked for a stock brz.

The MX-5 can beat or match pretty much anything in a 50m drag race, Limited slip, light weight and good weight distribution go a long way.

I can now speak from experience having owned both an mk7 gli and a 23 brz. Gli wins everytime from a dig but brz gaps from a roll. Theyre quite impressive up at 7000 rpm

BRZ pulling on rolls had to do with the DSG in the GLI auto upshifting. under 5k rpm. Automatic mode on that car sucks. You need to put yourself in the right gear with manual mode then let it rev to almost 6k. And no this was a diff GLI newer driver. They also use the heaviest version of GLI as that is the only one available in CANDA

You should really have experienced drivers driving each car when you do these races. Almost every race I watch on this channel there are always people complaining about one of the drivers, and rightfully so. If you want to accurately compare cars you need experienced drivers driving them.

You should've added the new kia forte4 gt to this it would've been interesting these were pretty much all my choices except miata cuz it's 2 seater but I'm waiting on my 23 gt so I'm curious to see how it runs

Wouldn't be much of a race, VW should win easily, especially a new one. EDIT, guess there are a lot of variations of this car arthe world, should be closer for same model years, but new GTI should win.

Comes do to driver mod. My friend just bought a 2022 mx5. It's a sleeper. He easily beaten supras, 370s, q50, charger scat packs. He almost beat a GTR and rx7. Don't sleep on these mx5.
