Yes his positivity is infectious. I think one of the hallmarks of the great players is when rival supporters hate them when they are playing against their team! You only really "hate" them because you know how great they are and what damage they can do to your team.
Great to have an All Blacks supporter watching my videos too. Welcome to this channel! Boks v All Blacks is a wonderful rivalry. One of the best in all of sport. Thank you for your comment.
@@frontrowrugby Peter. Been watching alot of your videos. I am loving your content. Especially the interviews with the old school Springboks. Like many Kiwis my love for the Springboks rivalry goes back to the 1995 RWC final. I have done a few rugby Tik Toks. I hope you will have a look one day. Much love and respect for the South African people. I have a few friends over here in NZ.
One of my favorite players of all time..imagine walking into Montagu Spar and there is the great Kobus Wiese himself standing there...and such a gentleman...was awesome meeting him and I hope he comes back soon...
Montagu of all places, hey! Kobus was a wonderful player and an even greater human being. It was a pleasure to have him on and I'm so happy you got value out of the show too. Thank you as always for commenting - it means a lot.
@@frontrowrugby He was there promoting his coffee..lol..I was starstruck and didn't know what to say...It quite a surprise going for your morning coffee and running into Mr Wiese...lol.
He brings back one of the most exciting era's in my life...such a fantastic vibe in the country back then. Kobus served me breakfast once...I didn't complain about the under done eggs!
Thanks for the comment, Seamus. It was a very exciting time to be a Springbok fan. It's actually incredible what the Springboks have done for South Africa since winning the first Rugby World Cup. Under done eggs! Say it isn't so? ;-)
If there's enough demand then sure. At this stage the focus is solely on retired Springboks coming on the show to talk about their Bok careers. I am looking at expanding that a little bit for the World Cup so a guest like Jonathan Kaplan is certainly not out of the question.
Great great interview. I think these interviews are all building up very nicely. There is overlap but each ex-bok players adds more context as well as a unique perspective. Peter, please keep these up. I love the suprise of who gets interviewed next:)
Gosh Francis, you're gonna make me blush! Thank you for this beautiful comment. It really does mean a lot knowing that the stuff I'm putting out there is adding value and maybe even a little bit of happiness to other people's lives. You have my word: I will continue to do my best to give you great content each week.
He mentions John Williams not picking him. He should have gone on 1992 end of year tour but Williams chose three locks he worked with at NTvl. ( Adri Geldenhuys, Adolf Malan, Drikus Hattigh ) . Even calling up a fourth, a NTvl B lock as a replacement, Phillip Schutte. Got dropped after his debut because French negated his front of lineout efforts.
Not sure if you've watched it yet, but you should check out the latest video interview with John Williams. He reveals why some of the selections were the way they were. Might make you reconsider your opinion on him as a Bok coach. Also puts into perspective what the administration was like in those days. Interesting stuff.
Kobus was great. I think this country of ours has been blessed with so many wonderful rugby players. Impossible to pick with certainty who is/was better in most cases. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I must be honest when I found out that Ed was going to ref the final in 1995 I thought we were gonna lose. But thankfully not even he could stop us that day.
Hated Kobus when he played against the Free State, but loved him when he played for the boks. What a legend and such a positive person.

Meet Kobus in Auckland city on a Saturday night out on the town, a huge human made the bouncer look like babies...
Great story! Love it.
As a proud Kiwi and ABs supporter. Kobus optimizes the respect and humbleness that the Springboks and All Blacks share. Absolutely love Kobus.

@@skylakirk323 Thanks Skyla. I really appreciate that. I'm not actually on Tik Tok but it seems perhaps I have a good reason to go take a look!

I agree with Kobus, just love the Haka!
Ya, whenever the All Blacks get ready everyone must keep quiet and the TV volume goes up!
The French: "They cry the whole bloody time!!!"😂😂😂😂😂😂
Very funny comment from Kobus!
Abs fan here, Marius Joubert...... I'll never forget it.
You'll understand why Springbok fans will also never forget it. Thank you for the comment. Appreciate your support and glad you enjoyed the video.
How about an interview with Jonathan Kaplan?
Yes..great idea...lol..what about Bryce Lawrence or shall we not go there..
Wahaha, yeah, I think that's one guy we will not see on these streets!

That is correct! Well done!
Loved the way he played. Aggressive with ball in hand, hitting the rucks and mauls.
He was a great player and part of a very special era for Springbok rugby!

SA fans rave on about Bakkies and Eben but Kobus was more intimidating to me

Noooooo he is DEFINITELY not in Bakkies and Eben class.
Amazing interview
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it!

Rueben Kruger scored!!!!!!
Ed Morrison really wanted the All Blacks to win.

Thanks Ben. Always lovely seeing you in the comments section. Appreciate the support as always!
Definitely not put him in a Sprigbok team if I was a selector in his erea. His line out jumping was a 0 on a contract.
Yeah, and he was a lousy scrum half, his place kicking sucked, and he was wasted on the wing.
