    First, I realize this is an older video but this guy is one of the more honest detailers on RUclips. He is telling you what you can really expect from the product and that its not a product that will bullet proof your vehicle. So props to Content Creator for that.
    I have had 2 vehicles coated with this product and topped with CQuarts Gliss. I didn't do the work myself, though I probably could have. I suffered a spinal injury and paid someone to do the work for me. I must admit I was disappointed by this product. I got maybe 8-12 months out of it and this was WITH caring for it with the recommended products from car pro. What I mean by I got 8-12 months out of it? Well, you noticed the bugs don't come off as easy, you would begin to get etchings and such. The guy I had apply the product placed 2 coats of UK 3.0 and 2 coats of Gliss. You would think it would last at least 2 yrs as a stand alone. NOPE. After 8 months I began to get etchings from bird bombs, bugs, even after being on the paint for little time. If you go to work and get a bird bomb, sometimes you can't do anything about it till you get home.
    Additionally, after about a year, you can see spots in certain areas where the coating is beginning to fail. It looks like streaks at first then it gets bigger and bigger and looks like crap. So you have to polish or compound your vehicle and basically start the whole process over. I really don't advise using a D/A on your paint all the time. Seems with these coatings, you have to constantly correct them from either high spots or defects from bird bombs or whatever. I have been much more successful using a poly amino silicone based product and applying it by hand. It seems to resist the etchings from bird bombs and bugs much more than the UK 3.0 did at a fraction of the cost. Yes you may have to apply more frequently every 3-4 months but its easy and cheap. How I see it, your maintaining your coating too so I see applying the ply amino silicone product 1/4ly as the same thing but at a fraction of the price.
    Essence is a good product but if used as a stand alone it attracts dust like crazy. If I could show photos here I can show you. So using eraser after may be better to reduce the static from applying the product. This varies by where you live, humidity levels and such.
    Anyway, Appreciate the honesty of this Detailer and sub'd to his channel. 👍

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад +2

      Thank you! Yeah I guess it depends on a lot of factors. Bird bombs, bugs and tree sap and gunk really wreak havoc on vehicles. That’s weird it didn’t last long though. I have been maintaining my customers vehicles for over a year and the coating is still going strong. Maybe improper application or failed product. Sometimes it does happen.
      But kudos to you for finding what works for you! I don’t always recommend a coating to customers becasue I know they won’t maintain it correctly. So sometimes a good strong sealant is perfect for them.
      Thanks again and have a great weekend!

    • @eppyz
      @eppyz 4 года назад +1

      @@MirandaDetailing See you said it right there YOU maintain the coating. So how good is a product that is supposed to last up to 2 yrs as a stand alone require so much maintenance? Other products I use don't. Nano coatings are the new fad just like Teflon coatings were in the 90's. There is a place for nano coatings but they are over hyped and over marketed. Good profit margins for Detail Shops though due to all the prep involved. Hence the reason detailers LOVE coatings haha. Every time I tell detailers my story its always the same reply. Wasn't applied correctly this or that, or maybe its just the product isn't as good as they say? Many variables. I do feel they have their place, but for the average Joe who actually drives their car everyday and can't pay someone to "maintain" the coating and re apply every year, every other year? There are just more economical ways to maintain paint. My Father for example was in the Body Shop Business for over 30 yrs. He has not ONCE put a D/A on any of his cars. My Mom's 2001 Lexus IS300 she bought new in 2001 has the OEM paint and still looks new to this day. No nano coatings or use of any D/A. Its all in how do maintain and how to wash your vehicle properly and just apply something on it every so often. That's all it takes. Your Channel is open and honest....Stay that way. 👍

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад +1

      Thank you sir. I totally understand where you’re coming from. Unfortunately companies have way over hyped what ceramic coatings are truly all about. That’s why people get confused. I always say hat any protection including waxes or sealants or anything is only as good as its maintenance, by that I mean washing carefully and regularly. Each product has its place though. Plus paint has changed over the years and so have protective products. So it’s also up to us and people to do research and ask questions before they spend money on a detailing service, especially a coating service. I don’t believe coatings are fake or unnecessary, but certainly people are misinformed. But that goes with everything in today’s world. Personal experience trumps marketing every time, at for me it does.

    1. Can I use Reflect before CQ UK? or I have to use Essence only.
    2. How much time I need to give post polishing and before applying coating. Few suggests me to use IPA/Eraser and then can start applying.

      Hi
      1, not sure about Reflect. All I know is Essence has the built in Sio2 primer.
      2. I have tried it both ways, letting the essence cure 24 hours then coat with CQUK without an ipa wipe down. I have also waited about 4 hours after using Essence and did a very light IPA wipe down then applied. Both times the coating bonded perfectly without issues.
      3.apply reload 12-24 hours after coating.

    What is the difference between Essence and Essence + and Extreme. In gloss primer or gloss enhancer? Which would you recommend to use for a new car before doing the Cquartz?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  4 года назад +1

      So Essence is a prep Polish with Sio2 infused. So it’s really an all in one polish. But when it cures after 24 hours you can apply the Cquartz coating right over it without an IPA wipe down.
      The Essence plus is pretty much the same but you can actually polish right over an existing cCquartz coating that may be a year old and it revitalizes it and gives it a boost. Plus it can remove/reduce minor swirls in it without removing the actual coating. Pretty awesome!!
      Yes I recommend using the Essence first for a new car prep Polish.

      Hi. Just look at how the coating reacts. It’s not according to a set time rather how the coating flashes. Apply it and see how it reacts. In colder temps it can take a minute or more. If you don’t see it flash or rainbow after two minutes then you’re safe to remove it because in that amount of time it should have had enough time to bond even if you don’t see the carrier fluids flashing yet.

    hey man thanks for the video. Your way made it so much easier than other guys online. I do have a few questions. I ve seen some guys waiting up to 3-5 minutes to wipe off the coating after application. Do I need to wait that long if I m applying at around 60 degrees?. The other question is you applied it in a way I would apply a sealant, but I thought they recommended applying it in a zig zag form ( up/down, side to to side). Lastly , I m wondering about essence and eraser, I used essence yesterday , it was not enough to remove some swirl marks, so I had to used a polish after, after wiping down with eraser, I noticed some hazing on one side of the panel that still had essence . Im assuming the hazing was there because I didnt let essence cure long enough, but if you apply eraser after 24 on essence, there should not be more hazing correct?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 года назад +1

      HI
      Thanks for watching. Wipe off depends on the temps, once you see it start to flash away its good to wipe and level off, that could take 30 seconds or up to a few minutes. So just keep an eye on it, but really it's not a huge deal if its wiped a little early.
      As far as the application, as long as its applied evenly it doesnt matter waht direction you go. Cross hatching simply ensures full coverage, but of-course when working on curvy, or weird shaped panels that don't really allow for that, then simply applying it and making sure full coverage it key.
      Not sure about the hazing though, that can be a variety of things, the paint softness or pad selection. Essence does have semi-permenant fillers, so its perfect for soft finicky paint becaseu ti covers over any minor hazing that may occur no matter what you do with it. but after it cures completely after 24h it locks it in and you can coat right over it without worrying about hat hazing returning.

      30ml should do an entire truck with one layer. If you want 2 layers go with the 50. 3D one will cut through any protection on there no problem. Or if you use Carpro Essence it’s also a great polish and preps the paint better. Then use a light wipe down of eraser.

    • @MirandaDetailing

      You can apply Reload to Cquartz after an hour. I personally prefer the next day after everything is cured. That way if I get any smearing I can easy use a mist of water to clear it up. I’d rather minimize touching the coating after it’s application.
      Also using a topper during the curing phase or even the next day helps minimize water spotting on the coating for the first 7-10 days while it’s still curing completely. After 7+ days it can then be washed.

    Very difficult product to apply on darker paints without dark streaking. I applied CarPro UK 3.0 to my 2018 pearl white Volt, 2018 putty gray Audi A6 without any high spots or streaking. The gloss and hydrophobic effect is amazing!
    Conversely, when applying CarPro UK 3.0 to my 2020 Portamao Blue BMW M3, the ceramic coating became a visual nightmare! The paint was washed , decontaminated with Car Pro Iron X, clay barred then lightly paint corrected with Sonex Perfect Finish. My final wipe down was Car Pro Erasure.
    I did us a complete ScanGrip lighting set up and pen light to examine the coating and flash for leveling. It didn't make a difference in the end.
    Now I am facing wet sanding / removing the ceramic coating , thus compromising the clear coat from a very expensive car. I'm very disappointed in this product.
