- In this video we start out in Waynesboro, Virginia and head into Shenandoah National Park. We find a trail to get us into the backcountry and explore the areas nature environment. After an overnight in the woods we head back to the van for a hot meal cooked up in the camper van. Thanks for coming along.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

I’ve come to realize that the West blows my mind, but the East warms my soul. If that makes sense. I grew up in the East. I’m an Eastern woodland creature. I wish more you tubers would spend more time over here. Thanks, Brian. Great short film.
What a great saying and I know exactly what you mean. Hubs and I live in NJ (I'm originally from central rural PA) but are currently traveling through the western states and we have noted a similar sentiment. Many things out here are so spectacular and jaw-dropping that it's almost an assault on your senses. The forests and hills of the east are understated yet soothing and calming.
Love Kelly - “We need some leveling jacks,” “Did you make those little hearts in my coffee?” Love it. 🤣❤️
She won me over on the hearts in my coffee :)
Nothing good happens on Monday except for a video from adventurevanman
😊
You are a lucky guy to have Kelly as a girlfriend, since she enjoys doing all the things that you like to do. Great traveling partner.
Hi Brian hi Kelly Brian it's nice just to see you standing up straight cooking and eating and enjoying life. The Appalachian Trail section hikes are a lot of fun.
Thanks Mark! ✌🏼
What ! No ‘ heart patterns ‘ in the camp coffee 🤠 LOL
Freedom and good food! Thats what I'm talking bout. God Bless America.
I always find your videos inspiring for some reason. Maybe it's just your demeanor of calmness 👍
Brian, love the intro, Indian flute is so calming. Thx
I feel like I say this a lot, but it’s from the heart: thanks for bringing us along!
Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob & Spruce Knob Lake and Seneca Rocks in West Virginia is fantastic, too. Thanks for taking us along in the green hills. Blessings Abound.
What stood out was Kelly smile and that braided tree. Nice hike.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride/hike. Awesome video as usual. Peace to you and Kelly ✌️
Thanks Bill! ✌🏼
Great video again. I really like that you leave the nature noises in without music. Nice to have Kelly in this one too. I would just once love to see you taste your food, make a disgusted face and spit it out - it can't ALWAYS be good, can it? 😁 Now, of course, I'm hungry again.
Was literally at that trail this weekend. Great area. It's our once a year trip. Love Shenandoah area.
Virginia has lots of cool places
I love how you scold people for littering & thank you for picking up after them. My beloved cousin & her boyfriend live in Waynesboro-thank you for showing me around. When my honey (mechanic) was alive-we traveled in a class C. I loved going to the laundromat-strip the bed sheets/etc wash/dry& put them back on the bed 👍 Groceries from store to frig 👍 May God bless you & Kelly 👋 🙏🌎✌💞
I don't understand why people leave their trash. The idoits will throw the trash on the ground and walk past a trash can as they walk to the car.☹

So nice to see you again. Enjoyed your video with my morning coffee. That was a beautiful hike. Ty for sharing.
Thanks again for great video of the outdoors. Appreciate ya'll.
Great editing Brian. Always look forward to seeing how you guys are doing...
This video was worth the wait, thanks for sharing
Thanks for the "Live Post Card" (scenery). 😊😊
Beautiful country back there wow you’re so lucky. Brian on my 62 birthday I made a B line to Yosemite National Park to get my America beautiful card, back then for seniors it was only $10 for lifetime and now it’s $80 for seniors for lifetime. At $80 if you use it is still a good deal per year and if you are a senior the pass is good for life. I remember I couldn’t wait to turn 62 just so I could get that pass for $10 it wasn’t long after I bought it that they raise the price to $80.... enjoy the beautiful back country and travel safe.👍🏻😊
I got my lifetime pass at 62 at mammoth cave, paid for itself. I wish I'd known they were free if you are disabled.
@@gregpeterman1102 wow!! I did not know that, I will pass on that information. Thanks
@@RonInAVan I learned that from my twin brother whom got one free because the park ranger saw him using sign language to communicate with his deaf wife, he is not really disabled.
Awesome place, great video too...you two take care and enjoy life....waiting for next video
You and Kelly are great together in your videos.. Well shot and edited ..thanks for the upload

I absolutely LOVE the Blue Ridge parkway! Grew up in NJ, now in the Ozarks instead of the Poconos (poconos gotten bad with crime). Love your back country hikes exploring threw your views. Older fat disabled woman now, knees are about to give up, so im happy to see your adventures that my knees say HELL NO too. BLESS You and Kelly ;)
I lived in the Poconos too... Some areas are still nice.. but I agree with your point
Love the mountains. Thanks

Enjoyed "our" hike & wonderful meal, thank you❗👍😇
Enjoyed your video! Haven't watched one in a while. Sometimes I feel a little guilty cuz I don't watch a lot of RUclips videos, but I guess I have an interesting enough life I don't need them. Not trying to be disrespectful. Enjoyed the video and have a great day!
Wow! How beautiful!! Was on Skyline Drive once at 12 yrs old with my family. Don’t remember a thing about it except my dad did not like the decent, down to Luray, VA. Glad to see your face Kelly!

Awesome place to go for a hike and do an over nighter. My favorites are the water falls. I always enjoy your cooking. Question where did you get that pressure cooker. Love that thing. Great looking meal. Thank you so much Brian and say Hi to Kelley. Safe travels!
That’s Kelly’s pressure cooker. The brand is GSI. Their website should have more info on it.

Really enjoy your adventures 😊. Kelly is beautiful and has a smile that lights up the whole screen ☺️☀️.
I'm going to get one of those GSI pressure cookers. Just looked it up and it's a litre bigger than my little Hawkins. I need that for whole meals when camping. Thanks for all the great ideas.
I stayed at Loft Mountain Campground just a few years ago. Although I didn't hike the complete circle of the trail as you two did, I only went down to the lower falls, sat on a rock & had lunch. B--- E--- A--- *UTIFUL* hike! And the water was nice & cold there!
It was absolutely worth your time there, am I right? And Skyline Drive's views...WHEW!! What a sight!
So nice to see you with the room in your rig to stand and relax.

The flowers you filmed were lovely. The twisted vine was interesting too.
I have not gotten used to seeing you standing up inside the van. Awesome upgrade and I am sure you are really enjoying it. Great new home.
It was so nice hiking with you guys again!! It's the only way I hike ;) lol Thank you for sharing the beauty and the delicious looking meal!! Hi Kelly!! Safe travels you two :)
Enjoyed it, thanks for taking us along! Great meal Chef Brian!
Great to see you in my backyard! In my backpacking youth, we always tended toward the Blue Ridge side of the AT in Virginia because we could have campfires, and that was really important to us back then. Today I could probably deal better with the restrictions. Priorities change. BTW I've been told our Virginia "hills" were taller, in their youth, than your West Coast "mountains" ever were. Thousands of years of erosion have softened them a bit, but I still love them. Thanks for sharing.
What a fantastic hike you two had! And I love cooking with a pressure cooker- it makes soo many items better! Thank forthe video!
Love the flowers along the way, more please
That was a real nice video and it was nice to see Kelly ! Safe travels to you two .
