*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

The best part is seeing you standing up straight in your home with room to spare.
You can live perfectly fine without a stand up van :)
That was my thought aslso, stand up without neeling down.,
head room is what its all about lol
Yeah well that's one way of looking at it
@@AccidentalPreppper he's 5'11" 🤣
If he was 3 inches taller (6'2", my height), he'd have a killer flattop :D
Hi Brian, I'm glad that you found peace and are happy. You hit the nail on the head when you said you should live life and be happy for life is short. Oh and BTW it wasn't TMI about how you go to the bathroom for everyone has to do it :) I wish you nothing but happiness and I'm glad you are enjoying life 😊
Brian I've been watching you for years. I have a lot of respect for you I appreciate your videos.
I love my Berkey! It’s a lifesaver! A pool noodle will help with your bike storage and many other things. They’re only $1 and you just cut to fit.
On the shower bottle I found placing a large clear plastic bag over the bottle gets the water much warmer.
The sun heats the water and the air cools it. The bag acts as a green house.
Thanks for this!!!
Great tip !! Thank's, I'll be doing that in the future.
Peace and Happy trails !!!
Brian, live life to the full and enjoy it while you are young, old age creeps up on you, I'm taking from experience.👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Nomadic is ageless, and the older a person gets the more you need to do it, and the more you will appreciate it. Watch the videos made by Bob Wells , " Cheap RV Living", and Creativity RV videos by Robin, the ones about older Nomadics that they have, for starters. The only people that stop us from living our life truly free and fun in our older years are "we" ourselves.
You can do this.🚐 💪😊 👍
He is.
Brian, I love your outlook on life. You have such a kind compassionate soul.
That folding toilet for travelling,or camping is ace what a useful seat and space saver.
I had to giggle Brian.....how many times I have watched you" clearing out". All us humans are the same ......too much stuff , try as we do we just keep accumulating !!! Great to see you again. You guys stay safe xo
Hey you’re standing up! LOL!!! Awesome! Brian is no slacker! He works hard
Good video. As an older van dweller I have adapted to the no rent or bills lifestyle and love it.
Your home is awesome!
I was honored to help get things started and glad Mark was able to help keep the ball rolling. I love all the refinements you have done along the way.
It's so good to see you and Kelly out there enjoying nature. Peace and love to you both! ✌
My blood pressure comes down when I watch Brian’s videos.
Relaxed, confident honesty in your videos.
🤩 Love the boxtruck camper 🚛
I was looking for your comment!
@@laureanne3409 😁
Brian, aren’t you leveling the van when you park? Get some leveling blocks and the stove problem is solved. Stoves in RV’s are secured to the counter and there is no issue. You’ll sleep better level too.
Relaxed, confident honesty in your videos!!!
Box van life is great, I'm in process of building a 2005 10 foot Chevy myself.
Well done Brian. Been a fan for 8 years!!!
You have such a calming voice and demeanor.
I haven't gone through all the comments but the marine industry has adjustable rails and pot holders on those rails. If you already know of this feel free to ignore this suggestion.
Holy smokes was getting worried, lol
Why worried? Lol
Brian, you by far have the best channel on RUclips.
Great job on the van. I think you'll be happy in there for a long time. You & Kelly have so much fun together yet keep your individual space. Perfect.
For homebuilt rv's, I think a box van is the way to go. Nice job Brian.
Ahh, to be young and strong and fearless.
Our time is so very short here. ✌🏼
I heard a good one yesterday, “ life is too short....eat dessert first “ 👍
One of the best builds on RUclips. 👍
Would love to see the exterior box wrapped with a cool scene and your logo. A piece pipe and flute with feathers. We need more calm in this world and this could be a positive influence. All you artists out there, come up with some ideas.
Been on the road for a year now, love this life! You and a few others had a lot to do with that, a very sincere thank you and hope to share a campfire with you sometime. Van turned out awesome by the way. See you down the road ☮️
Brian check out the “frames” or metal railings that boats use around theirs stoves to keep pots above the burners. If boats use them I’d imagine they would work out great for you.
All the comforts of home, love it buddy
Good info Brian. Best of wishes for you and your girl!
Glad to See you ❤️ Amazing Set-up Safe Adventures Brain and Kelly ✌️
Awsome rig. The r.v. lifestyle has no limits.
For anyone that's new on this channel....this lad is the real deal. So cool , chilled and just simply a decent dude. Been subscribed for about 4 yrs now 👍
This is my 3rd Brian van :). I am happy to have found you several years ago when I was researching van life. You are one of the most down to earth van lifers. Everything you do is never spur of the moment but well thought out. Your setup and built are perfect for your rigs and lifestyle.
I'm a 60's Hippie hitching a ride, thanks for letting me tag along. ❤ Keep doing you
Great interior tour and really appreciated the no BS indoor toilet demo, looks like a perfect solution.
that blanket on your bed is dope!
the best showers I had was in Nicaragua, the entire bathroom was outside (privacy fence tho) and it felt GREAT!
Looks like a very comfortable, functional, and cozy little home, Brian! Love that Kokopelli/Southwestern motif blanket on your couch/bed. Thanks for showing us around!
You have such a sweet set up. Lots of work but well worth it.
Freedom is the best thing in the world we all have to choose a different path in life freedom is beautiful
I was lured to this channel by the pizza video, and stayed of the enjoyment of you watching your travels. And look forward to more virtual pizza :)
Great video, Brian! A van tour where you once again prove that the nomad life can be great and doesn't have to be "high end" or require scads of cash and luxuries like I see in some builds. I am in the camp of simpler is better, and I applaud your achievements! Best always.
Your commemtary about your stove is super helpful!
You’re an inspiration. Keep on truckin
I appreciate so much that you are responsible with your backcountry bathroom techniques.
Brian, GREAT Video !! Love it that you took the time to touch base with us on "Everything" again, now that you have a new set of home-n- wheels.Thankyou Soo much for covering all the bases. We thought the toilet idea, and water pump idea was really cool too ! And, you are able to stand up ! Soo happy for you that you are finally pretty well set up, settled in, and it's so much more accomodating for you also. We really have been enjoying your videos Brian, we hope you'll keep taking us on your journeys. Take care of you and your travel partner.
Safe and Happy Trails.🚚
😊👍🚴🌲🌳🏜️☀️🌙😴
This was the most informative video on how to go bare bones and make it work. I loved the idea of no sink.
Hey Brian..got your box van looking sweet ! I've been van living for almost 12 years and honestly don't feel like I've given any comfort up. This life isn't for everyone..but for me the positive far outweighs the negative 👍😁
Hey Paul just checked your channel...you haven't posted in a while???
It's awesome to bathe outside that how we used to do growing up in the island of jamaica
One of the best feelings life has to offer hahaha, bar none !
I think it's freakin awesome you built as much as you did while on the road!! So happy for ya'll!
Glad to hear from you again. Love the new home. May your future be long lasting and no vehicle problems
You did a really nice build out Brian. Your going to feel so much more at home in this one. Yeah the stove was my hardest item to figure out. So I got a sailboat stove and oven that changed everything! Happy travels Buddy! ✌️👍
Agreed. Excellent job on the vehicle. Take care B!
Yup, mount a gimbled stove I was thinking
@@lorenenoe4472 it was the next evolution in the kitchen. And no more wood blocks!👍
My back feels better now watching you in the Van. Thanks A.V.M.
Love how you break things down so simply, it's very easy to understand and wrap your head around. You are definitely one of the best if not the best, rv/vanlife spokesperson out there, Thank You...✌😊👍
I really appreciate you're closing comments, not everyone can listen to there own soul. They have to here it from someone else. Wishing you and Kellie the best. Peace Out, Russell
Your home is very livable, and looks comfy. You put a lot of thought into what you needed. Happy that you're happy, and enjoying life. 😊👍
All settled in! Like the vinegar idea as well as the outdoor shower. Enjoy! 👍😏🇨🇦🔥🌲
Your toilet is what we used in our pop up back in the day before we learned about "glamping". Love that you have found what you love!
I’ve been following or at least watching your channel and journey for years, I find it both fun and informative. Thanks for doing what you do, I’m closing in on my F.I.R.E. date and hope to run into you someday and thank you for your inspiration, but for now this will have to do.
Thank you Brian ... don’t ever change! ❤️the heart is for Kelly
Great video, thanks for the in-depth tour of your box van.
Thanks for a great "Open House" Brian. It looks like a happy, comfortable home. It's just delightful! Thanks for taking us along for the past years.
Brian I remember the first van that you put together and the day that you hit the road. I am so happy for you when it comes to the box van as you can stand up and have more comforts of a home and it is in creditable. You have done such a fantastic job. So proud of you. As one being an adventurist I do appreciate the footage of the videos along with your adventures. So excited that you have Kelly to travel with. Stay safe and will be with you for the long hall even at 72. There is a joy I get from watching you so thanks. Take care tell Kelly Hi!.
The interior cabinetry looks really good Brian. I know you are appreciating the ability to stand up inside.
Thanks for the detailed walk around - so helpful. Appreciate seeing how you have gone forward from vans to boxvan, and various small interior changes/improvements over the years. GREAT channel!
It's great to see your new setup and see how happy you are. You're right. Those of us that have watched you for long enough are itching to step off the treadmill and just go... Still have a bit before I can but I know from many trips out that I never tire of traveling around and I never miss any of the possessions that I left at home. In the moment and in nature is the best. You sure did a great job on the van!
Very very simple,interesting.
Thank You Bill and Mark for your generosity towards the box truck build. Adventure Van Man and his tribe make my favorite RUclips channel. I’m inspired by each video. The channel takes me to a good place every time. --VTown Paddy Patrick
You have come a long way Brian . Thank you for having the courage to share your life.
HOLA MIJITO 👋
CALIF IS HOT , TIME FOR THE COAST.. DIGGING YOUR NEW CRIB ,
HOME SWEET HOME 👍
SAFE TRAVEL'S,ONWARD BOUND ✌
Great to see you again love your new home 🤗
Wow, your final build looks amazing. I would use a box truck or an ambulance because they have a steady frame.
Ambulance is a lot more weight and maintenance
@@TommyboyGTP I bet
@@gladyswilson6479 I'd also like to add that Brian's single axle box van can fit on most garage lifts with enough clearance. The ambulance being a heavy duty truck frame would have to be repaired and maintained at a truck shop. There's a lot more involved which is why they get retired early because of all the wear and tear they endure.
@@TommyboyGTP Thanks that is a good point.
You’re a good soul. Always look forward to visiting with you. Peace to you😌
Thank you Brian I really appreciate your contact and I think you're a blessing to many people thanks again
Glad you have most of your new set up done. Simple and efficient works! Enjoy yourself and live your best life.
Nature and nakedness. What a great experience.
I like your approach. It’s all yours and it’s superb. I quit sailboat living 20 years ago and settled down to earn a pension. That’s done, the van is ready and I’m away next spring with wife dog, sink and portapotty. I hope to cross your path and shake your hand and tell you being 65 doesn’t mean you have to stop. Keep going for it wild man!
Great video, thanks for sharing. We are on the same page with almost all of your ways to enjoy life and traveling functionality. You have developed a sustainable and logical life style. Keep on trucking !
Best overview of box-van life I've ever seen!
I'm no judge, but I sure like what you've done and glad I found your channel. You're absolutely right; life is to short and it goes by faster than you'd ever imagine. I'm hoping to have enough years left, in reasonably good health, to get out there with folks like you and other RUclipsrs who are living a similar lifestyle. Right now I have family obligations that keep me from my dream, but in the not too distant future I may have enough flexibility to start finally living it, even if just on a part-time basis.
Thank you Bob! It would be great to see you down the road one day! 👍🏼
Wow... I'm so impressed by your do diligence on personal issues... potty, showers, dishes, etc. Thanks for the details and all of your efforts.
If you are ever in western Nevada contact me... my home base on 5 acres will have room for visitors.
I really want to do what you’re doing Brien! Thanks for the details of your tiny home.
How do you wash and prep veggies? What do you do with food waste (compost)? I didn't notice a fridge or cooler. What do you eat?
Good to hear from you and that you and Kelly are okay!....thank you for sharing your positivity and adventure!...God bless y’all abundantly!
Love your simplicity in the kitchen.
A suggestion for your stove issue: on our boat, which is never level, we use arms that attach to a bar installed at the back of the stove to keep pots in place. They have them at good marine stores.
We love our box van also. Maybe we'll see you on the road.
This is one of the best channels like this
I could go on & on but just wanted to say you touched my Soul - thanks.
Been lov'n your channel for years!
Enjoy your adventure. Wish I had seen your videos 65 years ago!
Nice use of space. Layout is efficient and functional. Glad you got things set up the way they work for you.
Congrats Brian! I love your new house and all the work you've put into it! Until the next video! Stay safe!
Brian your awesome, ty so much for these videos, be well, enjoy and I freaking love love your home so much...
Like they say " everything should have dual purpose" love your toilet chair👍😊
So glad to see your update! Thanks for sharing. Love you’re set up.
Very well done and very well spoken!
