One of Frank Lloyd Wright’s clients once said that his work bore “the countenance of principle” - my favorite expression of truly fine design. This home is astonishingly beautiful, and although there are elements that fix it firmly in a given era, there is a timelessness to it because of how the materials of the time express a principled design program. For example, the foyer is distinctly classical in influence, yet it merges seamlessly with the more contemporary spaces it adjoins. Reference rather than rigor. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful kitchen; with a simple swap of newer appliances as they come to market, the design will remain current and relevant for many years; the cabinet work is that exquisite. And I suspect that the sunken area by the bar on the lower level was actually a dance floor; conversation pits of the era usually had a much more intimate scale, and were a tad deeper to facilitate extra seating around the perimeter. A perfect example of a moment in time, yet the design is still quite attractive, even though it’s been decades since dance floors in homes have been popular. The first bedroom suite (mistaken for the master) is the height of hospitality - offering guests (or in-laws) a separate entrance; nothing says “welcome” more than giving them the freedom to come and go without engaging with the owners, or traversing their private space. One of your finest explores, with the added bonus of my other favorite urbex-master Noah - well done gentlemen!
I agree, we must be around the same age, homes like these when I grew up were considered those of people of a certain “Class and Wealth”. I certainly enjoyed this explore as well and thank you for the eloquent review!👍🏽😁 Happy 2021!
@@marief9931 I agree; people of a certain "Class and Wealth" -- willing to forego what were considered the traditional trappings of wealth and committing generous sums to truly great design.

Hey Ethan, I've been watching your channel on abandoned houses for at least a year now and really enjoy your work, yet seldom comment. I've decided to comment about the end of your video, it's not bad I swear. The end of your video was quite the surprise I must say. You brought all of us into your bedroom, which is clearly a personal place that shows a lot about a person. I sincerely hope someone buys the house and fixes up the little mold problem. I can't imagine that it's too severe.
A-Mazing! Every inch of this house is incredible. My favorite has to be the sunrooms both upstairs and downstairs. The foyer was none to shabby either. The wood work was beautiful, I am in awe!

That house was amazing and I would imagine there had been a lot of staff to maintain such a large house. The entrance and sun room was suptacular .And "what's up you guys"!
This is a astonishing home. A real statement to the decor and building arts at the time. I cannot imagine why no one has taken a good look at this place and not immediately thought to divide it into 4 or 5 luxury condos. The way this was built it wouldn't be that difficult and it would save a bit of architectural history. The materials a used in especially artful and beautiful way. So, so sad if this torn down. It would be a crime.

These guys found a charmer and a keeper in a mistaken lost location. Breaks my heart. 💔
The foyer is the best room in the house! Every room should look like that!
You have hit this one out the ballpark this house is absolutely gorgeous I love everything about this one kudos
Wow the curved wood and window room so unique. The painted frescos are awesome!
I made my last comment before you even went to the basement. DAMN!!! That is beyond spectacular! If we all pool our pennies, can we save this house? There is SO much space! So amazing, truly.
Wow what a beautiful house. I would be happy living in the basement.
I have just started watching these abandoned houses. This one so very amazing. I got lost in all the bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautiful and thank you
That first room near the front door was probably not the master bedroom. That place is gorgeous. It's such a shame to see it abandoned.
I just think it was an amazing way of connecting with your subscribers on such an intimate level by showing all of us the real you at a home that isn't abandoned lol. Again, great job on the video and keep the content coming, it's been a welcomed distraction from all the insanity in this world and on the news. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year!!
Your making me dizzy, your spinning around to fast with the camera
I told him about that and he belittled me
@@sandramerimee6957 I like his videos but sometimes they do make me dizzy. How did he belittle you?
No lights hardly can't see anything.
@@sandramerimee6957People who can't take criticism are usually narcissistic so complaining to him won't do anything. He's going to do it his way or he'll tell you take the highway..lol I will check out that other RUclipsrs Channel though and see how smooth his camera work is. I'm sure they go to the same houses. Tx!
He also sniffs too much, which grosses me out. He seems to do it in all his videos (or at least the ones I've watch and I have to mute the sound, because it's so disgusting. I agree he moves the camera too fast.
Hey from Alabama!
Really love watching you on your adventures! "What's up you guys?!" Love the mirror shout outs!
This house is my favorite one so far! Freakin big too! 😂. If I ever hit the powerball I’m buying a mansion in Canada! Your videos are fun, I look forward to them! 👍. Thanks Ethan!
I like the straight walk thru, and not a bunch of edits. 😁 Also, that sunroom was gorgeous! Gave a resort type vibe.
This house is in my top five favs! Loved it.
Lovely home.Someone needs to buy it.It needs to be saved.Your car collection is awesome.
This is one of the best houses you've posted here! So many unique features, Hopefully this will be restored (as needed) and sold to someone who will enjoy it.
It probably won't be
Even in an abandoned house, there’s a dying fire alarm.🤣
The staircase has an art nouveau feel to it! Thats my favorite era. I can imagine having lots of fancy dinners there!! Could even use it for wedding receptions. Love it!! Thanks for another amazing video.💚💙🇺🇸🇺🇸😁😁
What a great idea!!
Merry Christmas, Ethan! This house was one of the best yet. OMG. Just beautiful everywhere! Those bathrooms were all amazing. I loved that one sunroom. There was one room in the basement that I thought, "Perfect for ballroom dancing!" Because of the wooden floor. That sauna? OMG. The main foyer had such a European Castle vibe to it. I sincerely hope someone buys the house and fixes up the little mold problem. I can't imagine that it's too severe.
The
A-Mazing! Every inch of this house is incredible. My favorite has to be the sunrooms both upstairs and downstairs. The foyer was none to shabby either. The wood work was beautiful, I am in awe!
Nice spacious house. Luxurious for sure. Looks like they had major renovations and added on to the back of the house sometime in the late 80s early 90s. Thanks Ethan!
This house is stunning! The woodwork is gorgeous ❤❤❤
Absolutely stunning, my favorite so far...and those sun rooms are amazing. The full bathroom in the foyer...wow. What is up! 😊
This was the nicest 🏠 house you have shown! Its stunning! If I was so fortunate to live there I would never leave!
Thanks for taking us on your experience with you!
Stay Safe!
Yes, it’s was so incredibly beautiful, I would forget the introduction as well. Thanks from Carmen at West Harlem New York.
This house is gorgeous!! I'm in love! Merry Christmas and happy holidays, Ethan.
I really liked this house. It was beautiful and I hope they do not tear it down. It was elegant and felt homey. This is my first comment to you. I have seen you with Carlos and others. Nice job showing it for all its beauty. Take care!
Certainly is the most beautiful home. Thank you for shutting cupboards too - it helps preserve them, esp if dampness is present. What an amazing glass room! I loved this!
That house was freaking awesome,Ethan! I loved the entire house. The lighted dome and the paintings were just mind-blowing. I really loved this house. I hope it doesn't get torn down. I totally loved your car collection. Believe it or not. I have one too but my cars are still in the packaging and are in garbage bags but u just gave me an idea on how I can finally display them. Thanks Ethan. Great house thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see what u have in store for us. Until next time. ✌
The basement on this is as nice or nicer than the rest of the house and it is all in pristine condition (except for the mold). What a beauty. Thank you Ethan, another GREAT explore
Oops almost missed this one. This house just blows me away. It's magnificent! Ethan you sure have a great voice. I always love it when you say "What's up guys?". I hate walking into spiderwebs too lol. Stay safe. Love ya!
This looks very nice to be so old,it looks like it's been well maintained an kept.someone needs to buy this an fix up any damages like the mold, etc. Is this place for sale? Thanks for sharing this with us. LoL
the sunroom windows!!! those are so insane!! also the first bedroom could've been a "mother-in-law suite" bc of the separate entrance!
iceetas, relatives' suite sounds mucho better and less sexist than mother-in-law.
What an amazing house it breaks my heart to think somebody would want your this down
I'm with the others, this is one of the most amazing finds you've done. I would have loved to have seen what that house looked like from the outside if the inside had such a modern feel. It was amazing. I can't wait to see what you bring us in the New Year. It's been a joy to take this journey with you the past year. You have come so far in your recording. Will catch you in 2021...stay safe out there.
Wow, that's a ginormous house! Love the curved walls on the room with fireplace & sunroom 🥰 Thanks Ethan for another beautiful house!
Omg that sunroom is gorgeous! There are many elements of this house I love and a lot of rooms that make you go 🤔. There’s a whole lotta rooms going on! ✌🏻❤️
Just fabulous! I come often to view this video because this house is so amazing! Wow!
Wow what a waste lots of homeless people need a place
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this house! The kitchen was a bit dark but my goodness...did I mention...I LOVE this house!
Ethan...I would have liked to have seen the back yard. And was there a garage?
All I can say is: WOWWWW!
BTW, A blessed an prosperous New Year to you. Thank you for all the explos! Keep warm, keep well!
If that house ever gets torn down, I’m gonna be FURIOUS.
Agree its breathtaking
I love the bathroom with black tile. It was just beautiful. Wood floors are nice. The slanted windows great look! Round doorways arches amazing.
if this isn't the best house you've ever done it's way the eff up there! i hope they aren't demo ing it
They probably will demolish if it's in they're s not our best interest!
An amazing place. A very large family could live there and not run into each other. It boggles my mind that people live in such large homes.
It is getting torn down
@@deborahpisano59 : I hope there is a special place of punishment for people who are capable of doing this. There is no justification for tearing this place down. Screw people's desire to make money at the friggen, expense of EVERYTHING! Stinking pricks! My Best. Out.
@@ivanj.conway9919 I know it's insane to knock some thing down so beautiful I.e to make money!
This is a very cool house! I'm actually shocked that someone doesn't want this. Its so big and unique. Such a beautiful home! I'd absolutely love to have a house like this!!
He said someone bought it and is tearing it down!
This house is spectacular! Hope they save it. Great video, Ethan you keep improving! And that is what is up!! ☮️❤️
That curved sunroom was so beautiful. And that wood accent wall was cool. I dig your car collection man. I still have all my Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars from the 1970's in a case out in my garage. I like how you displayed yours Ethan.
I love the map! If I could like this more than once I would! Gotta have a jacuzzi by the front door, for your guests! 🤣Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎆
This was one of the best most beautiful detailed homes you've ever been to. I think I'd move in even with the mold
That was an amazing house! I would have liked to see the exterior. It had some Renaissance vibes, as well as futuristic vibes.
On the "down" side you couldn't tell out of town visitors they can't stay cause there is no room for them! Thanks for the tour Ethan
Stunning😍. The entrance is truly breathtaking and the arched sunroom is to die for. From a child I have always said if I could live anywhere it would be Canada and I wouldn’t say no to that home. Happy & safe new year to you & your sis and family Ethan 😘.
Hi Ethan, hope your Christmas was great! This home is massive and certain parts like the entry way are gorgeous! The downstairs is extra nice along with the sun room. Hope this home isn't going to be torn down. I did notice the one room with mold and hope they can save it before it goes any further. Thanks again for another great tour. This home ranks in my top 3 of all your homes you've shown. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year! 🎊🎈🎉
That was so awesome. Can't believe how many rooms & how big they were. I could get lost in there. To bad if you run out of toilet paper & no one was home LOL. The party's you could have in so many places. Just wow. Just speechless. The wood was amazing love cherry wood. A shame it is empty. wonder what happened. It is in good shape except that little bit of mold in the basement. Someone should buy it. You are doing amazing work keep it up.
I cannot understand why ppl with money tear apart something beautiful.
these mansions are so unbelieveable hard to imagine that they have been abandoned
Oh My! Epic! I Love This House. I Can Only Imagine What It Was Like Furnished. Just Stunning. Thanks Ethan For Another Epic Adventure. Looking Forward To Seeing Upcoming Adventures! See You Soon Cuteness!
That house was amazing and I would imagine there had been a lot of staff to maintain such a large house. The entrance and sun room was suptacular .And "what's up you guys"!
Hi omg it’s amazing beautiful, can’t believe it’s just left ,one of your best finds Nathan lv Ann stay safe
Exquisite home. Can I move in? I hope it doesn't get knocked down.
What an incredible house! Nice showing, Ethan! I think this is my favorite of all the houses I've seen you tour. It's absolutely overwhelming - especially the basement areas and the HUGE sun room layout... The mold killed it; hopefully there's a way to get rid of it so someone can save the house from being demolished.
This property must be kept, just amazing. Very Frank lloyd Wright-ish in certain areas. Dude, loved the car collection BTW, killer!
Hi I'm Bonnie from Salt Lake City Utah USA well a wow his home is incredible it's more than incredible I've never seen anything and that's sunroom with the wood well you imagine living like that period I am 78 years yoeight years young and I have never seen anything like this I love your videos I know I like the respect you show a home you bring it back to life and make it live again. You bring memories back into that home it's absolutely incredible I love you and I love you were God-bless you Bonnie💜💜💯
Yoooo I was just thinking..."I wonder if these houses are in the USA or Canada?"🤔
Then 🤯..map of Canada appears.
You can tell their in Canada by the lack of spray paint everywhere 😂 Canadian people are much nicer and more respectful than most Americans...that’s for sure 😂
U can tell by how he talks he’s from Canada like when he says about or sorry I love the way they say those two words lol
You always find the most beautiful houses. Best on RUclips
This place could be a resort so large. Is it necessary to have a house this large with so many bathrooms really? And now it sits empty begging for a huge family or people at all. Would be great for events. Again terrific job beautiful sunroom. Sweet sunk in basement living area. Okay love the cars and did I see pink and seafoam colors where you did the ending? If so Nice!! Happy New Year. Lots of love and only the best for you. THANKS for the big tour. The ⛲ behind the stairs was adorable. 🚘🚖❤💛💜💚🧡🥰
This house is absolutely gorgeous...i would get it if I had the money...thanks so much for sharing this with us and taking us along...👍👍
WOW that place is just incredible! Man it would be so awesome to live in that! Every inch of that place is just so beautiful, from the floor to ceiling, really like the arched doorways and the architecture is amazing! Such a cool and dreamy place! Wow you do have quite a collection of cars looks really Cool!! Thanks for sharing.
Okay, this house is freaking amazing!! The sunroom gave me Frank Lloyd Wright vibes, and that foyer, WOW!!!
