Paul, we just discussed about reviewing the Neural DSP Cory Wong plugin yesterday during the live Q&A... and you release a complete review the very next day. That’s what I call dedication pals!
Hey Paul, can you upload some of your fantastic sounding presets for this? Your tone is goals. I for the world cannot get this plugin to sound good with an overdriven sound.
I use this profesionally and it is amazing for clean single coil tones and light driven ones (be carefull if you got an old CPU cause this boy needs some requirements)
All the cleans in neural dsp plugs sound the same, they use a eventide blackhole reverb algorithm, the best archetype is gojira , same cleans but gain goes all the way to metal, then its the nameless for grinding marshall tones, then fortin cali, omega, soldano and NtS, correy wong? 😂
Hi, if you're able to get the kind of tones and sound quality in this video could you let me know you're setup please? Mine just sound thin and grainy. Thanks,
Sounds good.. I've been using Archetype Plini for a while now, and it's also fantastic. It has some higher gain options, as well as nice cleans, plus stereo delay and reverb.
@@TheStudioRats Yeah, I am 180° the opposite. I think Neural absolutely nails everything at LEAST a couple levels above S-gear. And I think their presentation isn’t just good graphics, but it makes the experience better than any other. But again, everybody has different tastes and preferences. It would be boring if we all preferred the exact same thing all the time!
Great review, Thanks I'll be trying this for sure, I find this software really brings out the best in the bass mid notes, not fluffy like some others. Cheers
Love this one too. I’m mostly using VST from a IPad Pro, and it’s been a real struggle to find something on IOS that’s sounds as good as Cory wong or s-gear (neither are on IOS). The closest I have found has been Nembrini, the Cali reverb in particular is great on IOS.
Hi Sir, ever since watching ur episode 2 on Amp sim.. I now glued to your channel. So thank you for heart and sharing your videos and expertise. I have a question, have noticed from some of your videos you play a similar riff/lick in it. Here in this video it is at 0.08 I think? Can you please share it please. Thank you sir
Hi Paul, can you please give us a tour on how to get a Simon McBride-esque or your Boss GT 1000 Ultimate Tone-like tone on this? I try and try and all I get is a hot fizzy mess.
I have my RME audio card that has balanced / unbalanced Line inputs but no instrument Hi Z input like other Sound cards have. I don't want to use a mixer. Or an expensive preamp. Is there any pedal I can get that I can plug my guitar into and send the output to the quarter inch line input of my soundcard and then use all these great amp sims?
@@TheStudioRats I don't know about that... I'm currently using both of their trials precisely for blues and rock guitar with my Strat, and yes, S-Gear sounds very good... But Cory's Archetype amps have noticeably richer and more randomized overdrive harmonics and sound depth. It even achieves more volume with really true to life dynamics. The reverb can be as prominent and over the top as you want or just a faint background enhancer, the compressor and overdrives are very good to the point that I no longer plug my real pedals between my guitar and interface. The noise gate for higher gain and dramatic overdrives is excellent and can can be set with very low thresholds... Let me tell you, Cory's Archetype won the blues/rock award with me so far. That's the one I'm buying when the demo period expires. S-Gear sounds very good and would be a great upgrade over Logic Pro's Amp Designer, but compared to newly developed plugins, something in it kinda shows its age now.
@@julioguerrero8849 I agree with you, there. I guess different strokes for different folks, but I think the Neural stuff is top of the food chain, by far.
Yay, I didn’t buy it, even after watching the video 3 times 😂 Cory is a master of funk and it’ll be a long while till I even get close regardless of my “tones” Great review though, there’s a lot of great sounds in there regardless, thanks Paul for the heads up👍
There are quite a few guitar amp simulators that are interesting, including the amplitube which is currently on sale But a question that I ask myself that I do not find an answer is it possible to have everything inside? Something that does amp sims but also of guitar where I could choose which microphones, which type of guitar, the tuning etc

Cheers for the idea David.
@@TheStudioRats wasn’t mine, but it’s been asked by someone during the Q&A
Came for the walkthrough, stayed for the beautiful playing
Sounds a fair bit richer than the Scuffam S-gear i think. Those reverb n delay sounds remind me of the Strymons, massive and clear

More detail on why you think scuffam is better pls ?
To my ears it sounds better than anything else and the way it reacts is very different to a lot of other amp sims.

Great plug-in! Thanks for sharing.
Curious, what interface do you use for plugins?
I wish they made an AUv3+iOS Stand alone version of this !

Huge sound!!! Thank you!!!!
Yout review imon dsp PLINI would be welcome!!
I have Scuffam S-Gear 2 and this. I only use Neural DSP Cory Wong these days.
Suggestions for good sounding studio monitors for use on guitar amp sims on a budget?
JBL 308P MkII.

Can you switch all amps off and just use cabs stand alone with other plugins ? Great sounds
That I don’t know, I’ll look into it.
@@TheStudioRats ta that would be great you could use different plugins with the cabs from neural !

Radial J48 or others good DI box
You missed the best amp in the bunch- the amp snob. Unbelievable pick dynamics!
