My builder had a fan on a box that the joist ran through! It straddles the actual board. So I had nowhere for the threaded stud to run up into and allow the wires to come out the top. I wound up drilling with a little spade bit to get relief for the wires.
HELP! What if I’m trying to use the swag hook in drywall for a very heavy chandelier? My electrical box is side mounted to a rafter but to hang the chandelier where I want, it would have to be hung from a swag hook in drywall. I’m nervous that the drywall won’t hold.....
Im an electrician please dont use these brackets unless you can lift the light with 1 arm its worth paying someone to go into the attic and install a real bracket with screws I personally dont trust these.
Those brackets are great! Thanks for sharing this my friend!
thank you Dom...

Glad it helped....now you can help me by sharing this video on Facebook
Rafters hold up the roof. Joist hold up the ceiling.
Anybody have a link to source the bracket? I haven’t been able to find the screw-tighten bracket locally.
I have 160 pounds fan/chandelier - what are my options to securely mount it in VAULTED ceiling that has no attic?
Yeah, me too on the vault and over 200 pounds. That little bar won't hold

yeah I would be worried too. It is hard for me to develop a solve for you without actually seeing it
I don't see the information about the support bracket. My chandelier weights @ 50 lbs. I'm not joking. Will it support that much weight?
Can a chadalier of 20 lb be mounted to a single stud, and supported safely by two wooden screws, each of them 4.5" long?
if you are going into a beam, then it should be fine

Won’t bring the house down? 😀
What I don't get is why isn't there something that simply goes over the top of the joists to help with support instead of that gadget in between. 🤔
Thank you, you are smart
How is this bracket called? Can't find it online. Any examples, links. Thank you

What about a chandelier that weighs 110 lbs?
you are going to need some additional bracing
Amazing

Seems my ceiling is just concrete without any wooden beams
that is a whole different installation process and method
Mine is under the wood beam .. so I’m confused

The wood in the picture is not a rafter that would be a ceiling joist. I know you know that, but a newbie might be confused.
yes when you are recording a video, sometimes you mis-speak while thinking about everything you are trying to say
