Great video, Scott! I love the go-kart pictures and you did a fantastic job finding the house and comparing the photos of Kurt and Dave with the current layout. That same day, and apparently also in the road by this house that Dave owned, is when they posed for the photos that sadly showed Kurt with the rifle when they were sitting on the car. The background is the same and Dave and Kurt are wearing the exact same thing (right down to Kurt's red socks) as they were on the go-karts. The one photo in particular was sadly used on tabloid covers after his death. I remember being startled by one in the checkout lane of the grocery store shortly after Kurt died. Thanks again for your videos. They're very thoughtful, interesting, and respectful.
Just for the record, there are some other pictures from that very same day / same spot, where he has a m16 machine gun in his mouth, and not smiling at all (just saying for those stupid murder theory comments i read). So here is a little inside baseball for anyone interested the sweet grate Scott mentions @4:19 is actually called a catch basin or CB. They are for storm drains. The line connects the two catch basins so that ideally one isn’t overflowing where the other has only a little water in it. Eventually they fill to a certain level and another pipe goes down hill to another and another and another until it reaches either a waste water treatment plant or is discharged into the ocean or lake or river Ect.. From time to time, the pipes at connect the two need to be serviced or changed. The line in the middle, that is the middle of where they dug the trench to lay the pipe, it will be a bit lower than the rest of the road. It acts as a channel for the water to take to go into the catch basin. Otherwise it would all just run down hill and create a pool of water at the bottom of the road. :)
