Can you please do a video geared towards us that have slat/pepper or gray hair that always looks dry and frizzy. And styling products tend to sit on top of the hair making it look and feel dirty and dry at the same time even after washing
Almost all tips on my channel work for gray hair as well. You need to be making sure to evenly distribute the products when you apply to help them spread through the hair.
I rub the product, whether it be shampoo,conditioner,leave-in conditioner or mousse between my hands, then if applying it to towel dried hair I tip my head downwards and shimmy the product on back and front down to the ends, rub my hands again, and what is left goes on the ends. Then I brush it through using a tangle teaser, starting at the ends and working upwards. My aim is to get my hair to hit my hands and pick up the product, rather than swiping it on. Hope that helps.
I'm guilty of not getting my hair fully dry. Sometimes I only realize after I've turned off the hair dryer and at that point I'm ready to just move on and live with the results. 😅
Thank you, Summer, for always explaining things by showing demonstrations along with detailed information and instructions. It truly helps for those of us with minimal hair care knowledge. Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving 🧡
One of the best things I did recently for my hair is shorten it from a Lob up to a Bob. It actually made a really big difference in how well it holds it's style! My hair has a strong natural tendency to flip out and look like Marlo Thomas in "That Girl" from the late 1960's, even after a lot of work to get it to go straight down to a blunt edge or to curve inward! Her hair was gorgeous in that show, but that's not what I'm going for in 2024! Getting it off my shoulders and going up to mid-neck really corrected that. It even holds its shape better overnight at the shorter length. A great adjustment!
The length can make such a difference! I've decided to grow mine out and the back is definitely more challenging for holding my style right now. I'm about to hit that flip stage!
@@SummerBeautyc I loved all the different locations, no expense was spared in this hard hitting interview, loved it so much, keep up the awesome work!!!
Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your generosity by sharing so many helpful tips! I've been following your recommendations for my 12-years old daughter's hair. She has long hair, extremely frizzy, with shorter hairs and frizz everywhere. The wash day we get a beautiful set, as in your videos. But next day, even after applying the anti humidity spray, her hair goes back to normal: lots of frizz. The worst part is that the most severe frizz is on top of her hair, around the part, and we cannot apply much products there because it turns greasy... I would be extremely grateful if you had any advice for this type of situation. I think her hair would be in the medium range. We've used treatments, such as RedKen ABC, specific anti-frizz lines, such as Redken and Living proof, etc. Thank you so much again!
Very, very helpful! Thank you for this great video. It answered so many things about which I have been uncertain. Using heat protector and a blow dryer on second or third day is genius!
Love this! I have the same type of hair, but since I'm 60, I have some rogue greys and whites in the blond mix. So, fine hair with some wiry texture, too. I use the blow brush, which is the best. All of your techniques resonate with me!!
So I have fine (lots of) hair but it’s long. And I still want volume. Not like jersey/texas volume but it’s sooo healthy it’s not holding curl. Do you have tips of girls who have long hair? I just feel like your videos are great for short/medium length hair
I do these same tips when I have longer hair as well. The more length your hair has, the more it is weighed down/harder to hold a curled style. When the hair is longer I use velcro rollers pretty much all over and use a texture spray to help my curls hold(will spray in section to section prior to placing in iron). You can have the hair cut into a bit more with either texturizing shears or point cutting that helps but it does require a stylist who is willing to listen to your pain points and understands what you are trying to achieve. I am going to be growing my hair out in the new year so you will be able to see longer versions of hair for tips, but they are similar as I do now, just with a slight tweak.
Great videos and information. I recently visited a dermatologist, and she informed me that my hair is genetically predisposed to damage, and there's little I can do about it. I'm struggling with hair thinning and severe breakage. I've observed that my hair breaks easily ( prematurely), and feels dry, straw-like, and frizzy. Interestingly, I've noticed that the inner parts of my hair and my baby's hair are softer and healthier than the outer parts. I've tried everything from high-end products to drugstore options, and I don't even use heat on my hair. At this point, I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. A little help, please 😂
I don’t know about generically predisposed hair, but what I do know is that wet hair is weaker and more susceptible to damage. Try a leave-in conditioner/ heat protectant spray and thoroughly dry your hair with mild heat that is constantly moving. That’s the key, to constantly move the heat and not have it focused in one spot until dry. Once dry, then it’s in a better/stronger state to tolerate styling. I’ve switched from air drying to blow drying and it’s made a difference in my hair. Hope this helps ❤
Some people definitely have hair that is so prone to damage. The inner parts may feel more healthy just because there is more hair on top of it to protect. I am in no way a doctor, but I have had clients after getting blood work and realizing they were deficient in something their hair started to change for the better. They were taking either vitamins to help or eating more of xyz. Obviously this is a process that takes time, and not the answer for everyone but might be something to look into?
@@SummerBeautycI understand. I will be seeing a different dermatologist next week. Thank you for your time. If you don't mind, can I keep you updated if I hear anything different from this doctor?

Very helpful and interesting video for me. I will try to transform my hair routine😅.Please, what is in your opinion the best dry hair brush for fine and bleached hair? Thanks for your answer.😍
I wish my hair was so predictable. Curly, wavy and straight hair in different sections causes lots of challenge for me. Super fine strands. Dense at the crown. Less so in the back and sides…which is where the curls and waves can dominate. I wake up looking like a frizz ball every morning! 😊
I’ve recently cut my hair shorter in hope that I’d wash and 100% dry more easily and often. I have fine hair and it’s thinning, if I’m to go with that much force and friction to my scalp, I’d have nothing left! What do you recommend then? Also, if hair is too short to make the pineapple, what then to protect it at night?
You can use your fingers to help lift or smooth as well if you're worried about creating too much tension. A silk bonnet helps preserve the hair a little bit through the night as well!
Ive recently observed my revlon blow dry brush is full of build up and the fine bristles are going in all different directions...i guess i need to replace it, how do i keep it lasting for longer? Seems wasteful as traditional blow dryers last longer
One my blowout brushes I have seen the bristles going on different directions and I manipulate them back into place. I've noticed when I store it separately rather than just shoved in a drawer with other tools it does better lol. You can use barbicide wipes to clean, just make sure no fluid from the wipes are leaking into the barrel.
Thank you so much for your guidance. I need help…i have a lot of fine hair…that is wavy. I am struggling…I love the smoother look of using a blow dry brush but also love curls. When I curl my hair after a rough blow dry, my hair is frizzy and not cute. Should I be using my round brush to smooth my hair before curling it? I worry about heat damage😭
@@stephaniez215 using your blowout to smooth your hair before curling is ideal! You'll get much more control over your frizz meaning your curls come out better.
