The third installment in the "Friday the 13th" sees Jason continue to avenge his mother by killing a new set of young adults who come into the lakefront property called Higgins Haven.
Friday the 13th, part III picks up on the day after the carnage of the previous film, with homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees (Richard Brooker) stealing some clothes and killing a local store owner. Meanwhile, Chris (Dana Kimmell) and her sometimes boyfriend, Rick (Paul Kratka), are hosting a group of teenage friends at Chris' lake house. Despite a run-in with a local biker gang, they enjoy an amiable weekend together -- that is, until Jason begins knocking off kids and bikers alike.

Ali probably has the shortest cameo I have seen in a Friday The 13th movie. Man wakes up after many hours, just to get his hand cut off and slayed with a machete.

The scene is iconic because that's how he got the giant gash in the mask which carried throughout the franchise.

@@albertwesker2316 actually it was still barely visible in part 8 even though that was a completely new mask because the original one got broken in half
By part 8 everybody around Crystal Lake knew he was more than just a legend and about his official death at the hand of Tommy Jarvis but there were still some people who kept up the tale about the little boy who drowned and came back later to get revenge for his mother's death. Nobody ever believed the story about him dying and coming back. However it was still something to profit off of so they started selling Jason masks but nobody really believed the ghost story. This is why his mask in part 8 looks different.
@@trickq5883 not “different” but similar to the original since ofc his original mask was destroyed in the previous movie (by Tina) so he needed a new one and got the one from Jim. But you’re right the reason it had the axe mark (even though it was a completely new mask) was because of people trying to make profit out of it. The thing that doesn’t make sense though it part 9 to FVJ, since canonically FVJ takes place after 9, but for some reason Jason doesn’t have his axe mark from the mask from part 8, even though in part 9 his mask was never destroyed let alone removed from his face until the very end.
I love Jason's reaction when he gets hit with the axe.....he starts acting like Frankenstein by sticking his arms out!!

Wow. Jason had a humourous goofy side to him here. Taking off his mask smiling to scare here with his deformity. I dont remember this growing up watching but that's pretty funny of him.
Maybe that was Jason's way of saying, "Hey, remember me?"

@@persistentlypathetic6820 he hacked his skull once Jason fell on the handle digging the blade in further. If you looked closely, Tommy wasn't hacking one spot, he was hacking everywhere he could. That was because Corey Feldman was actually attacking a heavy sack with the prop and he was pretending he was hitting Director Joe Zito. Safe to say Tommy was going to town on the rest of the body.

I swear Part 3 was a huge favorite, if not THE favorite Friday the 13th film of the "Friday the 13th: The Game" producers: Part 3 Jason is automatically unlocked and playable at the very start, several Part 3 characters are playable and featured in the game(Shelly, Fox, Mitch, and Jenny Myers is truly just a head to toe replica of Chris Higgins), and several of the challenges are pulled straight from/based around Part 3 scenes. Not bad, Brooker was the best Jason Voorhees anyways. Happy 40th to Part 3, one of the best in the series.
Good film, definitely, but I personally prefer Kane Hodder as Jason. He’s the actor who really became synonymous with the character.
I'm more partial to part 2 myself, but part 3 was fun and definitely has its place in the series. Hated the ending, though.

Yeah but then they both would have died because up to this point she'd spent most of the night running from Jason. What else could she do? It's not like she was heavily armed or strong enough to fight him hand to hand and the black guy would have been too injuried to protect her or himself if she had saved him.

It's freaky that this movie was the first time we got a good look at that really ugly mug of his even though it was in part 2 at the end when he came crashing through the window but it was only just briefly and rather quickly too and in slow motion so that one almost doesn't count.

@@kaysebain1004except it’s the opposite in TCM 3, the alternate scene was of benny being killed off. No one liked it in the first screenings so they rewrote the script to have him survive.
