thanks for going so far in depth. I have been debating on purchasing a full dslr for my channel and starting in content creation. However your video showed me what is truly possible with modern tech
Thanks for demystifying what can be a confusing subject. As for me, I'm using Ulanzi's ST-30 phone mount & mirror kit so I can easily frame my shot using the rear camera for vlog type situations.
Right channel audio drops part way through.... What I'd love for my pixel 7pro is a way to use it to shoot video while I cycle.... Ideally using the rear cameras to shoot straight ahead.....
Soemthing that I do on the iPhone is that I would underexpose (like just set the ev -2 or lower) to kinda prevent the highlights and colours (especially skin tones) from looking a bit wonky in the sunlight. The highlights look overall okay on the pixel.
For me, while people can splurge a lot of money for the equipment, they still need to have ample knowledge on video editing as well. Some people buy expensive gears or gadgets, but never use them to the maximum limit. Sometimes, it's not about the gear but what we can do about the gear itself. It immediately reminds me about an Ugandan movie called "Who Killed Captain Alex?". That movie was made with a budget of barely about $100, and yet they become a cult phenomenon because of what the production crew can do with limited budget and gears.
Awesome, love the videos where you travel around a bit showcasing phone cameras and associated gadgets' functionality, really makes a video more interesting to see how things work in practice and on the go. I actually preferred the phone audio here even if it wasn't as clean, since Rhode was really left-heavy for some reason, barely audible on the right earbud.
You know nothing of what camera systems there were 20 years ago. I worked in a weather channel studio back in 2013. If someone were to show us this video back then, we'd think that it's shot on million dollar future tech.
Great video! I'm looking to taking my pixel 7pro along with my S23 Ultra on a trip to a park. I'm hoping it will do ok filming on a hot sunny day. Airplane mode is a great tip!
Another simple improvement (on a sunny day) would be: a bit of powder on your nose! Those white nasal highlights distract from the otherwise pro vibe of the video. But great vid, I learned quite a bit, thanks.
You'll have to check other channels for.make up tutorials LOL. I think it's important to show the impact of one setting at a time. I'm not trying to show people "adjust this ONE setting and your videos look perfect!"
0:58 LG V50! 😃 Could I make the Pixel 7 Pro a vlogging monster if I got my hands on it? 🤔 No idea, but you really know how to make every single camera work to the fullest in a smartphone. 🤓
Yeah, but even then, it's a tiny little tripod at the bottom of a top heavy motorized arm, which is also what your phone is connected to, and that's not hard to tip it over. I often end up swapping those out with a gorilla pod or a wide base mini tripod like the one RODE sells.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Yeah, but I'll take that because of the extra functionality I get with the gimbal. Shooting with EIS on a smartphone crops in and still reduces detail to mush when you're panning or shooting moving objects. Stick the phone on a gimbal and turn off EIS and get great results. Plus the Atom 2 has a wide legged tripod on the base that is very stable and can be used to add some extra length if you want a slightly wider shot.
Love the pixel 7 pro so thanks for making this.... 1 question, Storage? 4k shooting a day out will surely smash the memory pretty fast, any tips for on the go file management
I am wondering about whether I can just use my regular Pixel 7 with 256 G storage to start a vlog channel? I know I can look up and compare specs for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, but I am asking if you have any opinion on this. I really would rather spend a bit on a mic and tripod than upgrading my phone if possible. Thanks! Sept 2024.
does your Pixel 7 Pro heats up in summer when recording? I mean getting the warm up notification, handling the video closing, phone going into fly mode etc.
Using a wireless system with a lavalier, I think it's a toss up between the DJI and the RODE. The Saramonic is really good if you ONLY need the transmitter solution (it can't plug in a mic cable). And the Anker looks promising too, but I haven't test driven that mic. There really isn't a "best" for options like mics. It's really important you look at the different features between each brand and see what will fit your needs better.
Thank you for the video! I am just having difficulty with the audio of the blu tooth microphone to my Google Pixel 7 Pro. The audio does not sound clear or that the subject with the microphone is close.
Maybe now the people complaining about Pixel video quality can take a little break. Everyone acts like the video quality on Pixel phones is the worst thing in the world when that's just not true.
You mentioned some things you did not link and list some things you link that you didn't show. I'm interested in the magnet case and tripod that attaches to it 😢
Have a Pixel 7 pro ,So far I can't get two combined more than one video clip..... Example; I combined two video clips of 50 seconds each. It only show no more than 20 seconds. So far haven't found a video on you tube that goes into details. Any suggestions or you tubes that shows
Yes but Samsung made the process for Google. Google designed it from the Ground Up in their processes wondering what this year's processes going to be like for the next pixel i know the next pixie is going to be better.
Well yes and no. The ML hardware is ground up from Google, the fab on processor cores and modems comes from Samsung. Samsung is MOSTLY responsible for the thermal issues on all phones from last year. It's no grand surprise that rumors are pointing to Tensor 4 being fabbed at TSMC.
Now for how quickly I put this together, who can tell me how I screwed up the edit? 😅
Transition from the Ultra wide crop?
Right Ear: "What?"
Right ear left the building at the highway until the outro 😂
@@christopherragland5264 That's a good guess, but the Pixel handles audio better than that. Switching cameras doesn't impact audio recording. 👍
@@MichaelPepperTech That's a good guess, but the RODE was tackling the audio while I was by the highway. 👍
The crop in when you said "crop in" was smooth. Great job of showing people how useful these phones can be.
Also, is it just me or did the audio start to prioritize the left channel once the highway segment started.
Great video for the Pixel 7 Pro! Thanks for making this one. This video deserves mo views!

Well done sir! I love the point that most rear cameras have much better stability than their front camera counterparts.
Thanks to Juan, been doing selfie video with the rears for months.
Doing it right.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Yep
Crazy how tech has evolved. I remember having a Nokia 6600 and now we have proper 4K HDR video production.

Wow, that looks nice unedited! If we were told 20 years ago a phone would record video that good, we would've scoffed! 😅

The wireless mics and conclusion seemed to have only recorded on the left channel. Right channel has little to no sound.
That is some great looking video!

I personally use an Osmo Mobile 3 with the tripod feet and a cold shoe adapter for light and other accessories.
5:00 noise from the highway behind
If you don't care how you look, some modern Bluetooth headsets are shockingly good at removing this type of noise

Pretty much ALL gimbals come with mini-tripods! I use a Snoppa Atom 2 and it's tiny, way smaller than the Jobi.

The crop in starts looking like an overlay with green screen
Did the right audo channel die half way through or is it just me?
looks like the audio changed a lot when he switched to the bluetooth earbuds microphone
I noticed

What's your favorite wireless Lavalier mic for the Pixel 7 Pro? You showed the Rode Wireless Go II - is that what you use on this phone?

Can you recommend a external micro for recording a concert?

Can I use this phone as one for RUclips videos ?
I love the idea
Just hate the fact that my phone has 5 rear cameras & I am sadly unable to switch lenses during videos :'(
So far, only the Pixel can as far as I know. 4K60, and you can swap between all three rear cameras in one clip.
@@SomeGadgetGuy
I would be willing to shoot in HD or even 480p if I would be able to switch lenses ...
Which Gimbel did you show in the video?
Try panning fast and see the frames skip. I had a Pixel and the video quality needs a lot of work.
All android phone have frame drops in video. Especially 4k60. Thats why im switching to iphone. Smooth video.

Yeah. You can kinda tell who's really using this stuff and who's just riding the wave of whatever is most popular with the algorithm...
And then there's popular influencers (read: sellouts) who further made the whole argument worse because of their heavy brand bias.
