Got mines for a month now.
I have many other medium and high end headphones (Audio Technica, Senheiser, Sony, Technics, AKG, Grado....), but for the punch and grease of metal, it's really the ones I enjoy the most, especially, for death, thrash and bands with a rasp sound, the mediums punches make me smile often like a kid.
It reminds me of my Ultimate Ears Triple Fi wich where rellly good for metal too (and I still use occasionally).
For the Kickstater price, they are fabulous, I don't regret a second. And even at retail price, I don't see a set I'd exchange it to and woud put the price without hesitation.
To feel a gap you have to really put a lot a more money, and most don't have this raw live power we find here.
Special mention to the power on/off/connect/hellblocker voice, it's glorious.
Now make us some nice shells on a budget.

    • @LeechTM
      @LeechTM  Год назад +3

Yes. Those Shells are what im looking forward as well. Especially some that are more than just stickers, and more fluent, spiky or something similar.

I have been a total opposite. my heavys have been put away as gimicky meh. i prefer my meze 99 classics and thieaudio ghost. i dont really care for anc headphone tech and was hoping these would be much more amazing with those features turned off and more analytical. instead i have some lossy sound that makes me favor continuing to use audiophile headphones with cable rather than these overweight monsters. I'm not saying it's bad but it definitely has a colored sound i'd like more imaging and clarity and dynamics. maybe with eq it will do better but i dont want to be handling eq all the time. i actually found them better for jazz than metal in some cases

    • @GeekMick
      @GeekMick 11 месяцев назад +1

@@OniOfChaos Yes, I now use them only for death and thrash like bands, it emphases the raw power. For the rest I use my usual audiophile ones. But clearly they are not on the same price range. I don't see any pick I would make on the Kickstarter price of the heavys.

  • @DanielSvendsen86

I´m one of the backers myself. Love these headsphones. Great sound, nice to wear, great battery life and the case is actually not that big. One thing that no one mentions, but is actually the greatest feature (which MX4 and MX5 never mastered) is the dual bluetooth connectivity.
I use my Heavys for work where they are constantly connected to my laptop and phone at the same time. It works - fails sometimes if I switch to quickly between devices, but most of the time it isn´t a problem.
So I can proudly wear my Heavys at work, with the statement that they really do support my daily work, where I often switch between devices.

am still testing the H1H, and I want to shout out a big warning: Once listened to metal with this one here, you won't be able to put it away. You won't be able to get it away from your head. It simply stucks there. Because its like a drug. OUTSTANDING WORK, HEAVYS TEAM. Who is Beyerdynamic? Ah the ones with the cars right? Every guitar is presented like it should be, the bass roars and the double base blast bombs right into ur head. The groals let you feel like the lord of darkness has been fallen down to tell u something and u will hear details, never heard before. As a used listener of the DT-1770, I don't miss a thing I got more. Maybe its my test system: Aune S9 headphone amp, Aune X8 Magic DAC, double Sparcos Ss2590 pro op amp and now the Heavys H1H. Swedish melodic death metal is now more melodic and DEATH LIKE HELL.

I got mine Wednesday and I'm very happy with them. They are not shy about the bass, but to my ears it adds depth and thump, but not fuzzy like the Sony XM4's stock tuning.
The highs are good, the mids and clear, the bass is strong but crisp. These have a very energetic sound signature.
I've listened through albums by Metallica, Iron Maiden, In Flames, Pain, Judas Priest, Muse, At The Gates, Devin Townsend, Rammstein, Arch Enemy, Tool, Eskimo Callboy and more. Everything has sounded great!
Always used them with my Apple TV to watch movies.
I've listened almost exclusively wireless to HiFi with Deezer for music.

I own a pair of Sony MDR XB1000's since 2011. Theyre large 70mm driver headphones. I run them through my reciever while gaming or if im on the go, i run a headphone audio amplifier attached to my phone.
I know alot of people have been talking about these headphones but im pretty skeptical.
Like i can plug my headphones into a reciever on max volume and literally hear my phones two entire floors away. The issue is they bleed ALOT so you do lose alot of audio due to that.
Everyone around you will be hearing your music clear as day from up to 20ft away.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago and without Wavelet app, they are just super average headphones, heavy headphones. Don't know if I'm used to all my other different headphones, but these just don't have highs and mids. With Wavelet compensation they sound fine, don't feel that heavy on head (only in hand) and look different. What I hate is the final choise of earcup covers - during the campaign they looked more like pressed carbon or something. Now with the velvet-smooth finish, they will end like every other product with that finish - scratched, greasy and finally, super sticky getting all the dirt that comes around them. I wish the Heavys team will introduce a firmware updating tool and let users get the best out of these headphones, because I don't have Wavelet on my PC and because of that I still have to get my Superlux HD662F. Lastly, AUX on these headphones is super hungry, I have Topping DX3 Pro and it pushes a lot of juice to headphones to make them play compared to Superlux or Beyerdynamic DT770 I own.

Very true... I have the HyperX Alpha S headphones and they have much clearer audio.
I had assume that because of the unique way Heavys built their headset that it would also have that degree of clarity... but no they do not.
There's a built in DAC that impedes the audio and prevents loudness. They built the Equalizer as too "Warm" so the sound of Highs and Mids are muddled

Yea i kinda liked the heavys more. The sound is way better to me. Abit much on the treble but its better than not emphasizing it like the Sonys. (Ps I just got mine 2 days ago)
I think when the EQ comes out, it can be improved to one's own taste. I tried changing a song using an equalizer on comp and when I used the Heavys I was very impressed.
As for the ergonomics I think its fine. I rather have the on anc off button as it is so I can rotate between on and anc. I ratger not try my luck and push the button across the spectrum coz if it fails, i cut my music off. The volume and track knobs are easy to use so I cant complain.
The ear muffs are spacious and it doesnt squish my ears. So its a big win unlike my earlier marshall heads which heats my ear up. Living in a humid country, it can be annoying.
Compared to my earlier heads which is the Marshall ANC Monitor (Over Ear), Heavys straight up wins. My marshall has been stuttering to no end and has the faulty air ANC sound, when I tested the Heavys, it didnt even stutter or produce any airy sound. (Ps. I had to change my Marshall 3x and they all ended up the same 🙄).

Hi Voitcu! 😃 maybe i can help :)
I have over 100 earbuds, 75 headphones over the ear (mixing, anc and others).
Here's the solution: the heavys headphones are very heavy headphones, for mixing it's really not the best solution. I prefer headphones like audio technica athmxbt2 or mx wired (they all have stupid names haha).
Heavys weight over 392 g. So, be aware that they are not the best for mixing, training, run or travel.
Secondly, for the sound quality: the SQ on the heavys is terrible !!! If you want to mix, the are the worst ! No trebles at all !!! And i am not joking ! The bass is super muddy, not tight bass, the vocals are recessed, they sound like they are coming from a can. Oh by the way, sorry for bad english i speak french :)
If you want to mix with those headphones, you will be decieved ! The instruments separation is one of the worst that i have heard, the detail...details? None !!! But what is positive with those headphones? They sound very loud !!!!!! If you want to be immersed by the sound, they are for you! But if you need details, instruments separation, tight bass, clear vocals, DO NOT BUY !!!!! I can't believed that mister Grell has made those headphones !!! I tried to EQ with amazon hd music. A little bit more trebles, but same muddy bass (bloat bass, nothing tight !!!!). I have them in the case and they will rest in the case until i sell them 😂
The company told on their web site in 2023: we will launched an app at the end of 2023. We are in 2024 and no app at all !!!
They wrote now: the app will launched at the first quarter of 2024... hahaha... one month left heavys, hurry up !!! Thos company can't respect their promesses and their client, so any credibility for me !!
So, if you want loud sound and big immersion, go for it. For the rest, don't buy those headphones !!!! Go for DT1990, audio technica, sennheiser open back hd600 (with an amp, you will be blown away by the sound). Want a little bit bass, go with the hd660 s2 :)
      Hope this help

I have the Heavys and the Sony XM4, so my comparison isn't exactly the same as the video, but close enough:
For me, the Sony XM4s sound absolutely amazing with music like Peter Gabriel and David Bowie, but unsatisfying with metal bands like Black Sabbath or Paradise Lost. The sound quality is crystal-clear, but lacking a certain energy and "oomph" to fully make metal come alive. No matter how much I tinkered with the EQ settings in the app, they always came across as too quiet and lifeless for metal.
The Heavys are not as clear-sounding as the Sonys, but they have a unique sound signature that is loud, spacious, and sort of feels like being at a concert. You can turn them up to high volumes without it feeling fatiguing or getting shrill treble. The bass is accentuated, which muddies the sound a tad, but also makes the music feel thicker, fuller, and heavier. When listening to the track "Motor Spirit" by King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, it almost felt like the music was rumbling in my head, which was a pretty cool experience.
Sonys are for audiophiles who want a more flat, accurate response. Heavys are for fun. If you want to analyze the music and pick out every instrument with clarity, go with Sony. If you want to listen to some loud metal while banging your head, go with the Heavys.

Lost my xm3's in a move and need to replace them. If I listened to just metal, I'd get the Heavys in a heartbeat, but I don't. While the Heavys sound clearer, they also sound more distant if that makes sense. While most headphones I've tried that had this exact problem sound muddy or tunnely, these tease the f*ck outta me because they sound that clear. As an elder emo who always wanted a metal leaning headphone, I absolutely love the sound profile of the Heavys. But that distance causes them to lose themselves and it's evident on the back end of that sound test. I can spend less on a pair of xm4's, or even a pair of Momentum 4's at that, and be even more satisfied with listening to everything else I listen to than I would with the Heavys; at least at a reasonable volume.

I got mine just today and i´m unbelievably dissapointed. I´m seriously wondering whether my pair has broken tweeters because they´re dullas hell. But from what i´ve found online many people seem to feel this way about their sound. At the same time it´s quite possible that we all got very different sounding headphones ... my pair got shipped directly from Hong Kong and even got a broken knob on it. So there seems to be no,/ or at least neglectable qualitiy control. Still they respond terrebly to Eq. When boosting the Highs it literary sounds like trumpets blasting in your ear, nothing beyong 6-8k audible. When pulling the bass it uncovers just how little transperency there is. I can literary not hear Reverb and Hall on some Songs that i can clearly hear on my cheap jbl headphones.... Also the Sony XM5 in this video sound way more scooped and bright than they actually are. The XM5 also react to EQ way better, to the point where you can actually adjust your experience in a meaningfull way.
I can only imagine your headphones sound vastly different from my pair. Otherwise i don´t understand how you got to your conclusion

Spun some Rush - Tom Sawyer - and the deep synth is great, but the rest is mushy and Neal Peart's hi-at work, which is crucial to the feel of the song, is distant. Real shame, I had such high hopes.

BT 5.1 I use only with my Phone ... on the computer I use an USB-C cable (not the one what came with the HEAVYS ;-)
one thing I miss ... switch off the charging when conected with USB-C cable... and the switching ON/OFF for BT tranparent mode (very usable in public) with the 2 buttons is ... lets says a pain in the a... ... on longer tracks it not only swith the mode, it also starts the track again or skips to the next song 😞 - hopfully with the coming app this can be done within the app and not with the hardware buttons 🙂

Yes same here. I actually own the pair and I'm sure many others do too. This is a very independent creation so we know what's going on.
The Audio from Heavys "H1H" are not very good. They lowered the Highs and Mids to protect hearing and only lowers the quality of the Sound.
Vocals from Operas, Pop Singers and yes even Vocals from Metal genre are all held back because the headphones holdback the HIIIGHS.
Then there's the Bass or the Warmth of the Audio, they set that too high creating an audio that Muddles Highs and Mids and only further Muddles guitar, bass, drum work.
Oh also, we're able to use the headphones through Auxiliary cable, but that audio is also ruined because the DAC needs to be turned on in order for the headphones to process audio.

Heres my honest review, If i headbang at all they fall off. I guess they are built for men... maby if i wear a hat. They aren't loud enough for my liking either.

I don't understand the comments where they have a lot of bass. Mine don't have any bass at all. Are we doing something wrong? I need bass

Axell Grell has nothing to do with the physical design and was paid for marketing purposes. These are are utter garbage as well.
